"I went here with a friend on a Sat eve for a glass of wine and some cheese. It was very relaxing, great tasty wine - I'm always excited if a restaurant has a Rose other than White Zin on the menu. They let us taste the wine before we decided to order it! Big plus! Waitress was very friendly and attentive. The cheese platter with cured meats was enough finger food for two, probably not if you're starving though. Really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. I'm definitely going to be back."

"Has the new Gemelli Pasta - good, but would add more salmon, a bit less oil. I miss the feta & pesto pasta dish and smoked salmon appetizer, bring them back!"

"we hosted an out of town group of 10 that included adults and a couple of kids. While they don't usually make a reservation, they made an exception and we sat right down. We ordered and ordered and took our time and the waitstaff was prompt and gracious. All good!"

"I visited this restaurant for the first time for dinner and was happy with choosing to visit there. The food is delicious and the staff that took care of my table that night was very personable and attentive. The suggestions provided were great and everyone in the party enjoyed their experience."

"Toast Birmingham is by far one of my favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is fun and retro. I am always greeted with a smile when I walk in the door. My party of seven was seated in their cozy open air room. It is too bad their patio is not open yet due to construction. Our server Cassidy was friendly, entergetic, and prompt with her service without being intrusive. We enjoyed a meal with delicious craft cocktails and beers, mouth watering appetizers and salads, then flavorful entrees and specials. Their food looks like art on a plate when it comes out to you, & tastes as good as it looks. I would recommend toast in Birmingham to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing yet fun meal for dinner. They also have some of the best breakfast food!"

"Went there hoping they served breakfast (which is their staple and what they are known for) and found out they only serve dinner in the evening. Fair enough. My chief complaint is they didn't really have anything "normal". For instance, they don't even have a salad that contains lettuce. It's all very artsy food. It's okay, but if someone is a picky eater, they are going to have a hard time fiding something to order. Ditto for finding anything on the healthier side. Everything has butter, cream, or cheese."

"We sat in the quiet fireplace room at the couches table for four. It was great! The menu is new, and we were all very happy with our meals. Our server was quite slow, but it's the first time we have ever had any issues with service at Toast, and we were in no hurry, so it was not a problem. We had a wonderful night out with friends, again, at Toast."

"Decided to try dinner here as we'd always enjoyed breakfast (The Cure is the best, even if you don't have a hangover!) Got off to a bad start with our seating location (I'd made a special request), but once we settled in had a nice evening, although this place is NOISY. They seem to be booking large parties which makes it not so pleasant for most patrons. Chicken and waffles were very yummy with a generous portion of chicken & delicious grits, the other two guests had the skirt steak which they said was just OK, nothing special. Our server was excellent, very attentive & fun."

"Me and my friend had great service. Our table was right on time even though we were late:-) *thanks opentable* any whoo.. This raw Diamond is open and makes a good conversation piece. The seating is inviting and comfy:-) love the plush red seating. The tables are close enough to invite the locals to smile and nod all night..very welcoming. Now the food... Wonderful i suggest the lamb for a heaty appetite..*falls off the bone* taste like its straight from grandma kitchen. On the lighter side i suggest the scallops..omg. Cooked to perfection...tender..flavorful..great. The wine list is really good but the speciality dtinks are awesome:-) u must go...you will love it."

"Tucked away in Birmingham's petite streets and close neighborhoods, Toast is definitely worthy of a visit again. Interior has a home like setting reminds one of the grand era of the past 1900s thru 1940. Service was very good and attentive. I enjoyed my lunch salad and soup."

"We returned to Toast on a Tuesday evening. It was unusually empty. Our servere Shanta seemed to be waiting on all the tables. She did a very good job recommending wine for our meals and even brought a sample taste. The evening special of pan seared Char over entails was very good. My boyfriend had his "usual", the rosemary roast chicken which he loves. Both of our meals were cooked perfectly, presented well and very flavorful. Still one of our favorite mid-week after work spots."

"Such a cute place with great food choices and service. Love the decor and ambiance but it needs some acoustic panels on the walls because with the lunch crowd the restaurant becomes much too loud. Imagine it would be the same at dinner."

"Really enjoyed the dinner and it was nice to be able to get an Open Table Reservation. Nice serving size, big Cosmopolitans and friendly server. Fun atmosphere - I heard the breakfast was great so I will be looking forward to trying that soon."

"A birthday to remember! From the time we met the maitre d to the presentation of the birthday cake our morning was amazing. Mimosas to begin set the mood . Our wonderful and tasty omelettes were hot upon table side delivery. The coffee was a bit weak so we will opt for a French Press next time! that will be wunderbar these Coffee lovers...The wait staff all took the time to come and wish us a private birthday wish too. To add, our friends were envious that this was how we chose to start this wonderful day!"

"I enjoy Toast! The service at the door is friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is quirky and interesting but calm-like going to Grandma's house. The food/wine is always superior. On this night, however, the service was spotty. She was friendly but she disappeared several times. I could overlook that. The unfortunate event last week was the table of 10 bachelorettes that decided to bring their event to Toast. They crashed a serene dining room at 7. I have nothing against bachelor(ette) parties. But Toast was the wrong place, wrong time. Oh well. I will be back because otherwise Toast is a great place!"

"Toast is the kind of place that's inviting when you step through the door. I prefer the Lounge Room to the right for it's eclectic mix of decor and cozy atmosphere, but you'll get great service and food at ever turn. Who would've thunk that Chicken and waffles make a great combo..especially with the pumpkin & squash soup...but it was a delicious pairing. Our two-top near the sidewalk window provided a bustling people-watching backdrop for our Valentine's day dinner."
