"The food here was outstanding for flavor & presentation. Have not had such a good meal in a long time. The Sunset on this day was spectacular and we got to view it all from our table which over looked the Grand River. It was my wife's birthday and this was an idyllic setting and fitting end to her day. I would recommend this spot to all lovers and people looking for a relaxing and romantic evening."

"It was our second time at the mill and we enjoyed it very much. We found that our waiter was very knowledgeable with the menu and ingredients used. The food and presentation was excellent.
Also, at the end of our dinner, before dessert ,our waiter who knew we were celebrating our anniversary brought us 2 champagne flute one with champagne for my husband and one with gingerale for me (I am pregnant and had ordered a virgin drink before dinner). This considerate gesture added a special touch to our evening. We will defenitely go back."

"Food, atmosphere, service were all wonderful. However, when we booked online, the price for brunch was set at $41 a person. When the bill arrived, the price was $58 a person. The embarrassed waiter said that is the price for special occasion meals like Mother's Day. When we asked why no one notified us of the change either online or at the front desk or before we began eating, he said he didn't know but would get the manager. When we got home, we scoured the website and could find nothing about price increases. That was $20 per person extra of which we were unaware."

"We had been to the Cambridge Mill for brunch before and decided to try it for dinner. The view of the Grand was nice and the food was good. We had to wait a bit for our reserved table to be ready, it took 20 minutes before our drink order was taken (taken at the same time as our food order was placed) and the price was on the high side for what you get. We would go back for brunch but not for any other meals."

"restaurnat is located right beside the river in downtown beautiful view. "This was our 4th time at Cambridge Mill. As has been the case in the past, service is very slow. Wine took almost 20 minutes to arrive. Our server was excellent but was rushed off his feet.
I booked through Open Table and when we were seated, we noticed an empty table overlooking the water. We asked for it but were told that it "seemed" to be reserved. No one showed up for it until almost 2 hours later. I assumed that booking online nets you a table but not necessarily a good one.
Menu is very limited with too many beef options. Wine list is pricy and many selections were not available. For the price, our meals were ok. My pasta, which I thought would be clean, arrived covered in cheese.
However, the place is always busy."

"This was our third visit to the restaurant for dinner since it had reopened after the renovations. We had been there recently for their Sunday brunch and I visited there twice for lunch with clients. It is a beautiful spot overlooking the dam and the Grand River. My wife and I were celebrating our third wedding anniversary and we felt this would be the perfect location. I ordered their soup of the day which was quite good and their feature Halibut dish as my entree. My wife ordered two appetizers. Service was good and our waiter was attentive. I will say that I did not enjoy the feature Halibut dish. Fish seemed a bit dried out and I did not enjoy the taste. For $39 I expected a lot more!"

"Had a fantastic meal at the Cambridge Mill on a Friday night. Menu is extensive and service was outstanding. Prices are tad on the high side compared to comparable dishes at similar restaurants but worth trying out for sure.... The view of the river at night with it all lit up is awesome.....The renovations they did are spectacular.. Give it a try"

"we have been to the mill several times since it opened, and were excited to have a new place to go to. but this last visit will be our last for a while. no one took our coats at the door. our waitress was extremely slow to bring menus, then drinks and bread. our meal took a long time to come. we both ordered pizza's and the new deep dish style was not at all to our liking. the bottom of the pizza was mushy. my husbands was the wise guy and lacked flavor. we were really disappointed."

The food was fantastic...not just the ordinary fare that you find at some many steak houses. I've been there three times. Our Valentine's dinner experience was a little disappointing, but the other two times, in the main dining room, were fantastic."

"We had the strawberry fields mixed drink, muddled with basil it was the perfect refreshing spriing drink. We shared the pulled pork poutine which was amazingly cheesy and delicious with the hollandaise sauce. But I found a little salty later as I kept looking for my water . I had the altantic char with mussels potato gnocchi and chanterellies. It was also a little salty but again I found it amazing at the time and only looking for my bottle of water on the way home. My fiance had the roasted chicken breast with mushroom risotta which was fantastic. The risotto was everything you want it a creany mushroomy risotto. And the chicken was suprisingly crispy. We also shared the rhubarb creme brulee for dessert and it too was superb."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch last Sunday. It was my husband's birthday and he loved it! I've been to the brunch a couple of times before and I found the sushi/oyster bar to always be empty...I think people tend to hover... But this time there was much more to choose from so I was happy! "Came for Sunday brunch and even though it was very nice, the ambiance and view being the highlight, felt that the brunch was overpriced for the quality of food. There are other restaurants in Waterloo region that offer a similar brunch menu at half the price. The hot buffet was very basic with no vegetable dishes.

"We were at the Cambridge Mill Saturday evening for a special celebration for four of us.
Although it is obviously a big place with a large number of guests, we found the rooms are divided so you feel you're in an intimate space. We were in the lovely room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the dam.
We found the wait staff notably very friendly. The food was excellent, but with the vegetable sides listed separately, we were under the illusion that like many European restaurants, we needed to order/buy our vegetables separately from our entrée. That was a mistake because the meat came with risotto and plenty enough food. We ended up having way too much. Also, with the music, etc., it was a little noisy. Overall, still excellent."

"We went to Cambridge Mill for the Easter Sunday buffet brunch. This was our second visit to Cambridge Mill and we had lunch there on our previous visit last year. The experience was again excellent all around and well worth the hour long drive from Toronto."

"Perfect location. It was a Special Anniversary. I asked for a window sitting beside the falls and was accommodated for the request. Complimentary glasses of Champagne arrived. Food was unique and excellent. We had previously been at a wedding at this location and always meant to find a reason to go back. It is a one hour drive from our home and we were familiar with other locations with the same family of restaurants. It was worth the trip."

"Restaurant has potential but falls short of being fine dinning experience. Service was polite and professional but very rushed. Atmosphere was more of a cafeteria style than of fine dinning. There was no attempt to make the experience intimate, warm or friendly. The dinning room was less than 1/2 full and the noise was very loud to the point that you could hardly have a conversation. The menu lacks depth of selection and no theme or appeal. This was an anniversary dinner and the only item that wasn't either meat or mussels was pizza. The pizza was good but not what I like to order for a $150.00 romantic celebration dinner for two. My husband ordered the rib eye special with the meat being full of gristle as oppose to just marbled fat."

"The food, service and ambiance were very good. The Cambridge Mill was gorgeous from the inside and out. We were seated next to the window that looked out to the river. One comment was I think the scallop appetizer is overpriced for the small portions - 2 scallops with a small piece of pork and carrots for $14. If I had known, I would have ordered something else. The bread was delicious. My chicken with risotto was perfect. The risotto is a mushroom lover's dream - full of mushrooms. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at the Cambridge Mill. Will go back again."

"Cambridge Mill was a beautiful setting for lunch or I suspect any meal time. We hope to return again. Walden Farms is a friend of ours and we intend on telling them how good their beef tasted. "This was a perfect venue for celebrating an anniversary. The food, service and ambiance/view were excellent. It was a Tuesday eve so seating only a quarter full and therfore probably extra quiet and not rushed. The only detractions were a steak that came closer to medium rare instead of medium and tea/coffee that was only luke warm instead of hot. The waiter and chef offered to correct these problems."

"Wonderful selection for brunch. So much beyond your typical hot roast beef and salad assortment. Fresh and delicious raw oysters, crab, smoked fish. Having a mimosa or a caesar included in the brunch cost is a delightful bonus. Cannot wait for the floor to ceiling glass doors to open onto the river in the scenic fireplace room in warmer weather! Staff attentive, professional and folded our napkins each time we left the table -nice touch.
Price may seem dear but well worth it. Must make reservations at least by noon on Saturday otherwise you are out of luck. Enjoy!"
