SATAY has been an Austin tradition for 25 years with several Zagat -rated and local awards. We offer fine Thai cuisine and special menu items from countries surrounding the South China Seas with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan menu options. Our MSG free cooking and great tasting food have made us a favorite and an Austin landmark.

SATAY Restaurant was founded in 1987 by renowned chef and food scientist, Dr Foo Swasdee. Our focuses are using fresh, homegrown organic herbs, sustainable/local ingredients for recipes created by Chef Dr. Foo with nutrition concepts in mind. Seasonal menus offer dishes specially designed to give the healthiest options for weather changes. Examples are slow-cooked dishes such as Star-War, Dual Beef Panang, Thai Gumbo, or our famous GET WELL SOUPS. We offers a full bar, banquet room for private party and business meetings, a tropical patio and an experience of culture, music and cuisine all at once.

"We had a little glitch at Satay. I mentioned it to the Manager and he turned the glitch into a very positive experience. I give the restaurant kudos for this. We already loved the food now have another reason to return. My family and I will definitely be back and we will recommend Satay to all our friends. Thank you Satay!"

"They had our reservation, good..but too many people and couldn't handle the crowd. Wait for food was 30-60 minutes. Not good. But our husband and I enjoyed ourselves despite the poor ambiance for Valentine's and long wait for food. Waiter did best he good and kept the drinks flowing and some on the house because we waited so long."

"There should be a "When there is nothing else" Special Feature becuase I could not associate any of the ones above. The restaurant had good reviews so I decided to take my family. The flavor of the food was bland. I guess you can't expect much from Americanized Thai Food. Pad Thai by the Mueller Airport is more authentic if you are Thai or married to a Thai person. This was my first and last visit to Satay."

"I was at first dissapointed by the fact that they would not take my coupon, but the delicious food and friendly service quickly blew me away and more than made up for the initial flaw. There was a live duet, and candles at every table. Most of all, the food was excellent. I would highly reccomend this to thai and food enthusiests everywhere. Try the siamese duck!"
