C.I. Shenanigans
This classic Tacoma waterfront seafood and steak restaurant has been entertaining guests since 1983. CI's dining room provides warm, casual elegance with sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains and Commencement Bay. During the summer months, join them for casual dining or an impromptu gathering on their spacious deck. Guests enjoy succulent steaks, brilliant fresh seafood and other fine Northwest Cuisine. Choose from an extensive list of Washington and California wines, freshly shaken signature martinis and cosmopolitans; the ultimate accompaniment to any menu choice. Try one of their freshly made desserts to top off the memorable experience. CI's banquet facilities can accommodate parties as small as 10 and as large as 200. "At dinner 4 steaks; a filet, 2 sirloins, and a ribeye, all of these steaks were to be prepared med-rare. The only success was the filet, the others were med-well. Not to mention missing items and flat out wrong items on dinner plates. The dinner was a joke for the amount of money they charge. Better value elsewhere."

"I choose this restaurant because I had been once for brunch a couple years back and it was great. My fiancé was visiting for the weekend and I decided this would be the perfect place to take him for a great view and good meal. The setting and view was perfect and the noise level was pretty deceit. However my server was a little rude and unfortunately I forgot his name but the bust boy was of an even better server than my actual waiter. He refilled our water glasses without asking and made sure the table stayed clear. He also made sure there was nothing else we needed. The overall experience was great"

"I had a wonderful dinner for my birthday. Service was exceptional. The copper river salmon was delicious & cooked perfectly. My husband had the halibut which was very good. For dessert, we had the chef's special which was the triple berry scone with blueberries, raspberries & blackberries. Excellent!! I also enjoyed the pear-bleu salad w/taragon dressing. We will definitely return."

"In searching for a spot on the Tacoma waterfront to have a adult family birthday gathering I read lots of reviews (just like this) and based on them chose C.I. Shenanigans as the "best of the worst". The reviews for Katie Downs, The Ram, CIS, etc. were mostly scathing. But contrary to the reviews we found C.I. Shenanigans to be superb: great service, fabulous drinks, friendly staff, beautiful setting, and delicious food that was quite reasonably priced. It was a pleasure to dine there... and I told them so!"

"Always a pleasure having Sunday Brunch, Lunch or an evening dinner. On this visit our reservations were at 11:15 for Sunday Brunch. When our party arrived, we were greeted with a smile as we checked in with the front desk. We then proceeded with our hostess to the table, she introduced herself and had remembered us from our last visit. Our waiter was right on the spot, took our drink orders, so smooth and relaxing! Our waiter, I was impressed, he was there but wasn't, meaning you never saw him but water was always topped up, coffee was never empty, just a pleasure....GREAT JOB!! There was no rushing us, made sure we were having the best dining experience possible. GREAT PLACE!"

"we've been to this restaurant several times, this is the first time we set up the reservation on line. we always have a great time here, the brunch has great seafood, and a wide variety of selection for those who want something else. the made to order crepe bar is my kids' favor."

"We had a good lunch, but our guest of honor was a little disappointed in her meal. The mahi-mahi portion was extremely small while those of us with salmon had a large portion. Also, we were seated at a booth that looked directly into the brightness outside and we were all forced to wear sunglasses. The hostess said she would close the blinds, but that would have defeated the whole point of being there!!"

"The food was OK. We ordered from the special menu. My wife had the Salmon and liked it but the asparagus was tough.
I had the Etouffee and found it fairly boring. I would not order it again.
The cheese piece on the Caesar salad was too chewy and did not seem fresh. Also the bread topping on the desert seemed too chewy, again wondered about the freshness. Thought the food should have been better and I would think twice before returning.
On the plus side the views were excellent."

"Had a reservation and some of my party was already seated. When I told the hostess my name she said I don't see you, I don't see you. Oh wait I see you, follow me. She was a young blonde with no hostess skills. She wasn't friendly didn't make eye contact. Didn't apologize for not seeing my reservation. Got to our table and waiter finally showed up, we asked if we could be seated outside as it was a nice day and outside wasn't very busy. He said a hostess would come by to take us out there. Took forever for Another hostess who looked like Amy Winehouse took us outside. Again no communication- we were unsure if we should bring our forks, water, or menus! Was seated outside, again forever for a waiter. Food was ok, not $20/ plate worth though."

"Had dinner with friends. Service is excelent. Food tasted good. But I would say, do not order a bowl of the french onion soup. Although it is quite tasty, and the presentation was delighful, the amount of soup you are served comes out to about 4oz, maybe a bit less. I would rather fogo the elaporate rock salt, half onion bowl and fresh herbs for a plain bowl or about 12 oz of the very same soup. Food is to satisfy the palate and fill the stomach, not an art ahow for the eyes."

"We went for the Sunday Brunch as a special birthday outing. The food selection was great, fresh, and there is definitely something for everyone. There was a great view from the booth we were at. The price was pretty reasonable for the amount of food you can get, and the children's rate was even better. The brunch comes with unlimited coffee and juice which was a plus too. I would definitely recommend the Sunday Brunch, but make sure you make reservations."

"Went here with a party of 7 people and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the decor was along with a stunning view. Unfortunately, the 7th person to our party arrive before us, told the hostess he'd wait at the bar, and then we came along and told the hostess we were waiting for one more. Apparently it must have slipped her mind that he had arrived since we waited 30 minuts before calling him to find he was already there. Besides that, the service was incredibly slow and the food was terrible. Not a single person liked what they ordered, although most enjoyed the appetizer of clams. We will not return to pay an ungodly high amount of money for such terrible food and service."

"Beem coming here for several years and have noticed that the food quality has steadily gone downhill. We received our complimentary bread and it was hot, but raw in the inside. The table we sat at was next to the water pitcher storage and throughout the night we were jarred by the loud placement of the pitchers making the atmosphere very interruptive. I opted for the paella as i have been stationed in Spain. Unfortunately, it didnt come close to measuring up. Menu stated that it was made with saffron, however, there was no yellow color or taste in the dish. Me wife's lamb was medium-well instead of medium-rare as requested. As we were pressed for time, we could not send it back. Alli in all, a very poor meal from athis restaurant"

"A few of my family members had been here before our weekend dinner and had a great experience and a very memorable meal...our most recent experience did not meet those expectations at all. The restaurant was extremely busy and that came through in every aspect of our experience, not in a positive way. The service was rushed and slow. The food was overcooked and not well prepared. Overall the food had great flavor and culinary attention and the menu looked amazing, but all 5 of our meals were too well done to rate well. Good ambiance and great views, but even the Google reviews I saw didn't rate well. Really too bad, as we had much higher expectations."

"The crab,shrimp,artichoke dip was terrible. It had a very strong fish flavor, like maybe the shrimp had spoiled. The chowder was medioker, probably would never recommend to order it. All drinks were excellent. Wife and I shared a combination dinner. Steak was good, but no better than we cook at home. Coconut prawns tasted just like costcos out of the box. Other couple we were with had a fish dinner with raspberry glaze that was very good. She had a steak and shrimp combination dinner, that the steak was tasty, but disappointing. She never tried the shrimp. All mashed potatoes were good, and green beans were also good. Service was very slow. Not in a hurry to come back."

"The food was very good. we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. I had requested a table by the water and the hostess said those table were only for more people than two. But then 1/2 later two front tables were given to one couple each. That was dissapointing, especially that it was Sunday night and that there was not that many people."
