The Grill Room at The Four Seasons Restaurant is truly a New York phenomenon that New York Magazine calls "the city's greatest dining room."
Wildly popular for generations, by day it serves a classic New York business lunch that attracts a who's who of moguls, politicians, socialites, models, philanthropists, architects and journalists.
At night, when the lights go down, and Manhattan loosens its collar, the Grill Room is a spectacular Midtown meeting place for those who appreciate after work cocktail and a bird's eye view for spectacular people-watching.
On Wednesdays, the Grill Room is home to live performance by Gianni Russo and a wide array of surprise guest stars. They have included Chris Noth of Sex & the City and The Good Wife who made his musical debut in the Four Seasons, Grammy-winning singer Gloria Gaynor, Dominic Chianese of The Sopranos and Boyd Tinsley, the violinist from The Dave Matthews Band.

"I thought The Grill Room was heavily overpriced for the quality and substance. The suggested wine pairings were extremely dear and every single item on the menu was at the upper end of price levels.
The food itself was decent, but did not warrant the very heavy price tag and portion size was on the small side. The venue is also a little stuffy and made a casual business dinner far too formal. I can't believe this venue does not have the maximum $$$$ reference - it should have - possibly the most expensive restaurant in the city in my experience.
On a side note, I was told my attendance was not recognised by the restarant after checking in with the maitre'd on time, coming back several times as full party arrived and then being sat."

"We decided to eat in the Pool Room and we were not disappointed. The service was wonderful; the main waiter and his staff did everything to make us feel comfortable. We were not rushed and we were made to feel welcome. I had the salad, sirloin steak; my sister the fried oysters (delicious) and the bass. We both had the chocolate souffle which is the best souffle in the world!!!! This was the highlight of our lunch. We were also surprised to receive the huge cotton candy dessert with strawberry ice cream. We could barely touch it; we were so full."

"Very dissapointed. Freezing cold room, the waiter asked us what he should do about it with a shrug of shoulders! food was average at best, certainly over priced even for Valentines day. To be fair the steak was very good but then served with bland veg and tepid sauce."

"To say the food was not memorable would be a trememdous understatement. The service was also poor, pompous and arrogant. The venue was the pool room, not the grill room and without question the only positive reaction to the evening. Truly a beautiful venue!"
