Enjoy the casual elegance of this French brasserie, centrally located in New York’s Rockefeller Center. It’s a prime location for business lunches, relaxed dinners, holiday celebrations, theater go-ers and private events. Spring through Fall our large terrace is an ideal place to gather for dining and cocktails.
"Once again, I have had the time of my life at Brasserie Ruhlmanns! Went for lunch with two work colleagues and dined outside in their "pleasure garden" amongst the hustle bustle of NYC one is transported to another place -- could it be Lake Como, Vienna, Paris perhaps? The service and food are divine. The location is perfect. Feelings of a private garden and those sitting within are the lucky ones. Intimate dining al fresco in the middle of it all - Rockefeller Center. FABULOUS!"

"I have avoided this restaurant as I thought it was a place for tourists. What a mistake! We had the most wonderful lunch and have made plans to return. The food is outstanding as was the service."

"Far and away our family's favorite restuarant in NYC. We have been going at least three times per year for the last 5 years. Love the food, love the service, love the location and ambiance. We sincerely appreciate the efforts put forth by everyone at Brasserie Ruhlmann!!"

"Spring overlooking Rockefeller Center with perfect weather and wonderful menu! We so enjoyed the grilled branzino and the attentive service. What a lovely way to celebrate one of the few genuine spring days this year."

"This was a nice treat. A bit over priced but service was EXCELLENT, you can not say that about many restaurants in mid town, especially during lunch time."

"We lunched at the Brasserie with guests invited from Connecticut. The food was very good and the outdoor seating on a lovely day was delightful. The fact that the service declined to next to invisible after our entrees were served was inexcusable. We could not get water without hailing waiters who had no connection to our table, and my guest actually requested coffee five times - three times from our own waiter - before it finally appeared. This was my first time here, so I do not know if this was representative."

"Loud, mediocre food, slapdash service and no flexibility on anything -- "no substitutions" as the menu says, not the way modern restaraunts should deal with customers whom they are charging a fortune for the privilege. The location is perfect for bad quality since it attracts Rockefeller Center tourists and expense account business people who dont want to go too far from the office and know the other options in the 'hood are just as bad. The outdoor seating in summer does give it a plus, but sitting inside you can't even hear yourself talk, let alone your companions."

"Not as I remembered before... service was given by younger untrained college kid... He was nice, but slow! Burger was under done, fries were only warm not hot, Onion soup was too sweet and cheese on top went a little long under broiler... Not a bad meal, but not memorable worth $50 (burger, fries, 2 cokes, tip) Also, I hate it when they charge for soft drink refills!!!!!"

"Third visit; this time with good weather, we were outdoors. Food is consistently tasty and well served. Good selection of fare especially for lunch. Attentive service. Not cheap but not outlandish given the location."

"I frequent this restaurant often for lunch and am never disappointed. Their menu offers something for those who just want to nibble and for those who come hungry. Either way, you will leave pleased!"

"One should be suspicious when after you are seated- your waitress immediately starts telling you "everything" that will not be available that can be found on the menu. Food is good but just don't bother to read their on-line menu or the one posted on the street because they probably don't have it!!! Too many good restaurants in NYC-I will not bother to come here again."

"Perfect French bistro setting. Vibrant and happening lunch scene. Very professional waitstaff that serve you with alacrity, but without obtrusiveness. Fantastic Chicken Paillard, and nice little macaroons offered with coffee. The only downside is that the pricing is a bit steep, but that's Midtown."

"We sat outside on the first warm day of Spring; it was great! The service is very good--attentive but not rushed. I had the special which was very good. It was roast chicken on heirloom tomatoes with pesto sauce. But my friend's Croque Monsieur was all dough and served with fries was way too much starch."

"Disappointed with only Fair fare. Dover sole is one of my favorite dishes. It was served here, with the usual capers, but with a brown sauce, distracting rather than adding, to the flavor. Outdoor eating likely would be great, right in the middle of Rockafeller Center. The restaurant is located next to Radio City, where we we re headed for a fabulous Leonard Cohen concert, much more memorable than was the meal."

"The only reason why I give this restaurant a 4 is because it is extremely expensive. If you're looking for a nice place and willing to spend money; this is your place. However if you are just tired of walking around and you are looking for a place that is reasonable, then keep walking because the food wasn't any better than your neighborhood Chile's. It just seemed like I paid for presentation. But I digress it was bad, just expensive."

"I accidentally made my reservation for the wrong date. I did not realize this until I showed up at the restaurant with my party of 10. They were so kind to accommodate us and they even offered to switch my open table reservation to the correct date so I would be able to collect the points! It was my mother-in-laws birthday and she was treated to a nice dessert with candles. What could have been a disaster (due to my mistake) turned out to be a great day for all of us."

"Great spot close to the hustle and bustle of the Rockerfellar Center. Beautiful interior and nice ambiance. In the summer they have a great terrace. Ideal spot to see the world go by ... and the food is delicious."

"My husband and I went here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was very quiet, and at first our drinks started a little off, but Claudia took care to make sure that we were happy. She gave great recommendations for the menu, made sure we were comfortable with our 10 month old son, and was very attentive and friendly. She even helped me in the ladies room, set up a changing station for my baby. I was very grateful, for as most NYC parents know, MANY NYC restaurants don't have changing tables, and are usually pretty unwilling to accomodate you with a baby. Claudia was amazing! The food was delicious - we had a lobster tower, burger and the branzino - all spot on."

"My wife and I enjoyed a pleasant, relaxing dinner before going to a Broadway show. It is conveniently located to all the Broadway shows. The service was outstanding and the ambiance excellent. My wife had the lemon sole and I had the roast chicken; both were very good."

"My boyfriend and I visited Ruhlmann for Valentine's Day this year, the staff did not disappoint! The food was excellent (there was a 60$ prix fixe with 25$ wine pairing), the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was quite romantic. The location was perfect as well, since we were planing to visit the top of the rock after the meal."
