"Overall our dining experience was good. Their were 6 total in our party ranging in age from 15-84 and there was something for everyone. I would not recommend the Ahi Tuna Tacos/Wrap. Very dry w/ lots of butter lettuce and cabbage. Small slice of tuna and a dot of hot chile sauce. Not much flavor on these and definitely not worth the $12 price. All the other food and drinks that were ordered were well liked."

"Tavern never fails to impress. Food is always consistently good, great selection of different menu items-it's always hard to choose since everything is so good! My husband is a Cuban sandwich fanatic and he has deemed this one one of the best in KC! I'm always satisfied with the seafood choices. Great spot for lunch-prices are very reasonable, Anthony and his staff are always very attentive and friendly. Love the Prairie Village location (have to admit I haven't been to Leawood yet even though it's closer to home) and is always on my list of lunch destinations. I'm sure dinner is phenomenal too, just haven't had the pleasure to venture in then!"

"My son was visiting from out of town. And I wanted to take him out and show him a good time which usually means a good meal. The Tavern filled the bill w/o breaking the bank. My husband raved about the fish special and all were pleased w/ the meal including the ambiance & service."

"I was a bit underwhelmed after reading such great reviews of this restaurant. I had the fish tacos, which were just ok. the black beans on the side had absolutely no flavor. clearly from a can. a little disappointing. the Mojito was not good at all. very bitter. However, the dessert donuts were yummy."

"Our first time here was for our anniversary, and we had an absolutely delicious meal! Our server was excellent as well. The soft shell crab special (with blackberry sauce!) was one of the best entrees I have ever had. It was sad to see quite a few diners seriously underdressed (shorts/t-shirts). That's not a reflection on the Tavern but rather the fact that people take casual dress a bit too far at times. A place of this caliber deserves a bit more respect. But that didn't hurt our experience nor the taste of the food. We'll be back!"

"The calamari was outstanding, the salmon quite good, the pork porterhouse tasty, the lentil cakes not so great - mushy and not much flavor. enjoyed our server very much - can't remember his name, but he's recently lost 45 lbs. and he likes Bordeaux wines ;-) An enjoyable dining experience. the dessert chocolate brownie stacker was on the dry side, and the peanut butter either absent or so faint as to be indiscernible. We will return, most likely."

"We have eaten at the Tavern many times and it was always very good. This night missed the mark. This was the 4th time I have had the Salmon.First, my meal was not hot.The presentation was good but everything was tasteless except for the bitter spinach.My husbands filet was tasty but chewy. Our server was new but very accommodating. We will be back of course but were disappointed this night."

"Tavern in the Village is a perfect balance of fresh food served with positive energy in comfortably upbeat environment. I can choose healthy in so many ways! The grilled vegetable salad and ahi tacos were both carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The wine is expensive as is true in most USA restaurants and so the bill is always just a bit more than I expect, but I sigh, pay and return over and over again."

"Tavern in the Village is a neighborhood gem of a restaurant. The owners are usually present and make the rounds to make sure that everything is going well. Prices are within reason and service is efficient. Some servers are more personable than others, but this is how the world works. Parking is adequate and convenient.
Tavern's sibling is also doing well at Mission Farms, and has even more space for special dining outings."

"Can't speak for many of the special features. We had never been there, found it online, and made quick reservations for an early supper before a show. So I can't speak to the bar, wine list, brunch, or lunch. You could bring children, but they would need to be older - pre-teen or teen, I would think, for a Saturday night. Other nights, and brunch/lunch would be fine.
We were very pleased to find the prices reasonable, and the food and service outstanding. KC has an excellent local-based dining scene, but we and our friends have made no-return decisions over pricey tabs. The food and drinks are excellent at these places, but its just more than we can do for a casual evening get-together. We will definitely be back to the Tavern!"

"I had been to Tavern in the Village once before. I brought an out-of-town guest there this time so I could show her my neighborhood. This is just the kind of place the area needs. The food is interesting and well prepared, they have a nice wine list, and the service is good. It's always a good sign when the place is full on a Tuesday night. Tavern strikes a nice balance between casual and relaxed and a little upscale. My friend and I had a really nice evening."

"We had the beef stroganoff, the pork porterhouse, and a coffee drink. For desert the peach cobbler and the apple turnovers. With tip it came to about $70 so this restaurant is a bit pricey. They food was very good. I really liked the Tabasco sauce on the pork. My wife's stroganoff was also good with well seasoned meat and a good sauce. The deserts were a bit of a disappointment. While the apple turnovers tasted fresh I felt the peach cobbler was small and tasteless and had hardly any peaches in it. Just some kind of artificial peach flavored jelly mix.
The service was good. Food was served timely and professionally.
Overall very good food but I also felt the portions were small, overpriced, and the deserts poor."
