"I had not been to Ciao Baby in about 6 years. We went on a Friday night. The restaurant took out some of the private looking tables. The restaurant is wid open. The were showing the movie Casablanca on a movie screen. The bar was noisy and was situated at the front of the restaurant. Music was being played loud. The restaurant was very cold. The food was delicious however and the portions are huge. I would not go on a Friday night unless you are doing Happy Hours or with a big crowd."

Review 3 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"We have enjoyed Ciao Baby at all locations through the years. Our favorite was Carle Place that closed. It was the largest location. We love the food. I did request not to be sat at a booth with a party of 18 but we were anyway. There were a lot of large parties in at the same time. Service was very good. We go for special occasions since it is a bit pricey for Italian food."

Review 4 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"Price fix for lunch is great for large groups and the food is very good. Also, offers galsses of wine for very reasonable prices as well as bottles of wine. I would highly recoomend for the next office function where your looking to entertain a large group at a reasonable price in a very clean and neat restaurant. The service is also very good."

Review 7 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: THE FOOD ALTHOUGH PLENTIFUL WAS TASTELESS, MOST OF THE FOOD WE ORDERED CAME OUT DRY AND OVERCOOKED.
THE SERVICE WAS SLOW AND THE WAITER SEEMED OVERWHELMED.
THE TOTAL BILL FOR A PARTY OF 4 NO ALCOHOL JUST SODA AND NOT DESSERT WAS 150.00
I DO NOT MIND THE PRICE FOR DINNER IF THE FOOD GOOD.
WILL NOT RETURN"

Review 8 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"i will preface this by saying it was a monday night, hence the place was almost empty..that being said, i have heard about ciao baby for years but never dined there before...will probably never dine there again....to me the food was average at best. i understand it can get very noisy on the weekends, but again, the place was almost empty...when my entree arrived, it was at best warm, and there was not nearly enough sauce on the pasta, which was sticking together......im a person who dines out an average of 4-5 times per week, so i think i know a good restaurant...this is not one of them...there are far better italian restaurants all over the island......do yourself a favor, and if you live in central suff. try someplace else.."

"family oriented Italian that is a bang for your buck!
I would recommend the rice ball as well as the broccoli rabe pasta dish. Also the Gorgonzola mango salad was to die for.
Our waitress was loud and annoying. I also ordered the truffle mac and cheese. It was tasteless and a waste of my time. Go there are get what they do well. Their sides leave a lot to be desired.
I would go again, now that I know what to order."

Review 11 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"I always enjoy the food at Ciao Baby but the management is going downhill. At my recent visit, they sat someone who came in after me and we both had waited more than 15 minutes for our reservations. When they finally sat us in the bar (although we did not want that seating area), there was only one chair at a table for two. Before getting our chair, the hostess went and sat other people while we stood even longer. No apology, no free drink, no what can we do for you even after we complained. Good thing the good is good."

"This was not our first visit at Ciao Baby in Commack nor will it be the last. The food is always served hot and is consistently very good. The servers/hostess are very accommodating and pleasant."

"If you're hungry, this is the place to head. The portions are enormous, the fresh pasta is incredibly delicious, and on a weeknight, there's no wait time, so this evening's visit was perfect."

Review 14 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"Incredibly noisy, with no buffer from the loud bar music in the main dining area. One pasta dish was good, but the flank steak dish had tough, chewy meat. Staff used the seating area for circulation, constantly bumping into my chair and others without apology, then asking some patrons to move to accommodate their traffic. UNACCEPTABLE!"

Review 18 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"Great food, huge portions, pricing is very reasonable is the good. Very loud and tables are very close to each other. Almost like you are dining with the people next to you. Service is good, but the staff cannot help from bunking into your chair all night because it's so tight in there. I would recommend highlty, just not for a quiet romantic dinner."

"I actually went to the Massapequa location, but if Commack was only half as good as Massapequa, you'll love this restaurant. Don't make the mistake that we made, don't order more than one meal per two people. We brought more food home than we ate! Good food!"

"The service was very good and the food was too. I just wish the salad and the appetizer had come out separately, like I requested. We were in NO rush and were enjoying a childfree evening and when the food comes out too close it feels rushed."

Review 22 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"We waited an hour and fifty minutes for a table after making a reservation. Had three separate waiters help us and none of them knew the other existed. VERY loud, close quarters, and we didn't get desert because we just wanted to get out. I never complain to restaurants, but this ruined our date night and we were very displeased."

"I am going to make this short and sweet. The food was very good. I got the marinated steak with mash potatoes and it was very delicious. Their portions are large which left me enough for lunch on the next day. It was very crammed in there but I can understand it was because of Valentines Day. They were a bit slow in attending us and again most likely due to the day. Overall had a good experience. I want to go again on a not so busy day."

Review 28 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"This was our second visit to Ciao Baby in Commack. Very good, though not quite as outstanding as we recall our first visit being.
A Friday night, it was understandably very busy. Servers were doing the best they could to keep up. Our appetizers (rice ball and meatballs) were extremely slow in coming out, and might have actualy been ready earlier, as they seemed a little overdone. Entrees were very good, and plentiful enough to take home a portion. The atmosphere was tempered by an extremely loud patron at a neighboring table (not the establishment's fault, although the tables are very close together, so don't expect privacy for conversations!)
We'll likely go back again at some point, though perhaps with more realistic expecta"

Review 31 for Ciao Baby Restaurant & Lounge - Commack
"We had 8:45PM reservations, but there was not a table available to accommodate our group of 6 until nearly 10:00PM due to a large party that was taking their time leaving the restaurant. The manager, Rich, took care of my group in the meantime, offering us drinks and appetizers while we waited for our table. The moment it was available, he made sure that it was cleaned and made ready for our group very quickly. The wait staff quickly brought out our freshly prepared, genuinely delicious, and beautifully arranged food and provided us excellent service. If not for the long wait (which was not the fault of the restaurant), this would have been a perfect dining experience. I will gladly return with my friends in the near future."
