"It's location is a bit out of the way, but the room is lovely, the service is attentive without being cloying, and the food is incredible. Had a lovely root vegetable soup, some of the best homemade blood sausage I've ever had, and some very well prepared salmon."

"I suspect this is a restaurant where you can be sure you are going to get good food and service every time you go. The menu was just adventurous enough to be interesting.
My guests loved the pea soup. We tried the steak, the scallops and the pappardelle. All received thumbs up. One of my tests for a restaurant is the lemon tart - a ubiquitous Parisian dessert. The presentation of the lemon tart was spectacular. And it was delicious.
I hope to return to this restaurant on future visits to Montreal."

"I visit Montreal (from New York City) once every year, and I always go to Laloux. The food is imaginative but based on tradition; the service excellent; only problem is the painful noise level. Everything we had was delicious, especially the strawberry dessert."

"Wife and I visiting from NYC, went to Laloux on a whim since we were there for a memorable meal about 15 years ago. Had a terrific experience this time around. Appetizers and entrees were excellent, fresh regionally-sourced ingredients. A memorable cheese course, with fresh honey literally served out of the bee-keeper's wooden tray brought in that morning, paired with a goat cheese - wow! And David, the sommelier and our server that night, was just super, opening various bottles for us to try and work through to mix and match wonderful pairings for our meal.
Terrific food, tremendous service, highly recommended!"

"The meal was exceptional... inventive and beautifully plated. I've been to this restaurant numerous times over the past 15 years and although the staff has surely changed years,it consistently shines. Beautiful atmosphere... upscale French bistro without the noise and frenetic buzz that often accompanies other restaurants in this category where the tables are inches apart."
