Rudy's Italian Italian Restaurant & Bar
My name is Rodolfo (Rudy) Amadio and, as new owner/manager, I hope to be welcoming you soon; I will be delighted to meet you in person if you visit.
Maybe some of you already know me. My wife and I have been in the restaurant business in the Charlotte area for over 20 years, initially with the first wood fired brick pizza oven in the Charlotte area (Luisa's Pizzeria), currently with "Dolce Ristorante Italiano" (Dilworth area) and now with the brand new "Rudy's".
The concept at Rudy's will be that of a neighborhood Italian restaurant, with a casual atmosphere, friendly prices for food and bar and very, very good food.
For now is "arrivederci" and I sincerely hope you will come visit us soon and become a delighted patron.

"We don't get to Rudy's nearly enough. The food is always good and the service as well. The prices are very reasonable and the place is comfortable. Every time we go, we get the fried calamari. It is one of the best in town. We think they are best at pasta but the chicken marsala is pretty dog gone good. We will go back. Soon."

"We knew this restaurant was there, but didn't pay attention to it until they did a Groupon. So glad they did! We were pleasantly surprised by the quality. Both of our meals, as well as the appetizer and the bread were all delicious. Service wasn't outstanding, but it was fine. Nice selection of wines by the glass."

"We had a delightful family get-together along with 3 children-5-7 and a 2 yr. old. Staff was very accommodating and attentive. Although there is no formal children's menu it was not a problem as the kids ate their pasta and enjoyed it. Definite recommendation."

"We have been to Rudy's on several occasions over the years and have always had a good experience. This time the food was very good, as in the past and so was the service. There was a noticeable difference in the atmosphere. There was hardly anyone in the place and no one at the bar. ( a little spooky ) This was a change from the past as it has always been lively. While the service was good, the entire staff is no more Italian than I. I hate to stereotype, but the place has lost it's "Italian feel"."

"We eat out quite frequently and compared to other places that we have eaten, the food was just okay. The restaurant is lovely, but I just cannot recommend Rudy's based on the dishes that we had. My husband had the salmon and I had a chicken dish. The salmon was overcooked and had too much sauce. The chicken breast was a generous serving but it, too, was overcooked. It wasn't that they were awful just that we did not like it was well as other restaurants.
I don't like to give just a negative review but want to be honest. The service was very good. There were several people around us that who seemed to be regulars."

"We went to Rudy's, for the first time, on Valentine's Day. I was looking forward to having the Gnocchi which is only served on Thursdays, according to the menu on their website. Very disappointed to find that they offered a set menu for Valentine's Day (without the Gnocchi.) I had the ravioli instead which was fine but nothing special. The salad was very good though.
Service was extremely poor. Our waiter was unattentive and when we asked for bread (which he had already promised to bring us 15 minutes earlier) he acted like it was my fault for asking. This restaurant, in my opinion, is overpriced. While the food was ok, I think there are better options out there. I will not be returning."

"First time, the restaurant was very good. Appetizers were okay, our dinners were all very good. The service was extremely slow as the waiter was completely overworked with way too many tables. It was the last night of Groupon so there were a lot of people for a Monday but some advance planning on the owners part would have made the entire experience nicer. Due to the long wait for our meals, we devoured the bread... order more to have with dinner and noticed we were charged for it on the bill. Really? That just sat wrong for us as we were very patient with the extremely slow service and you felt it necessary to charge us $2 for another order of bread? Wow... might want to rethink your customer service."

"My family and I visit here quite often when in the mood for Italian. The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is fantastic and the restaurant is beautiful. Thursday nights they serve homemade gnocchi (my personal favorite). I recommend Rudy's to anyone and everyone."

"This was the first time I went to Rudy's. I first checked out their web site, which really needs work. I thankfully made reservations via OpenTable because when we arrived at 7:30, they told another customer that the next available table was at 8:30. The bar was packed, but mainly full with customers eating at the bar, making it hard to get to if you came only for drinks. We were immediately seated. Salad and meals were very good. Clientele skews older -- 55+, appearing to be regular customers. The decor appears dated with faux finished walls, lighting and a ridiculous amount of ceiling fans. Service was good, but waitress forgot to apply our coupon which we had given to her. No problem though. Will return."

"Rudy's is a wonderful restaurant. Rudy is a true restauranteur. He is jovial and you can see how much he loves what he does.
