"Loved the food, enjoyed the ambience, but from the moment we sat down it was rush, rush, rush. We ordered drinks, and told waitress we wanted to sit for a moment to have our drinks before ordering. She came over 3-4 times to ask for our order, every 2 minutes. Took my drink away before I was finished, gave us our check while still drinking. I think it might be restaurant policy, not the waitstaff's fault but would make me unlikely to come back. There were tables free, by the way - no one was waiting for our table."

"Always a favorite for the pasta and straciatella! With the recent change in chef, we were worried that there would be a change in quality. While some of our standard favorites were gone, they were replaced with wonderful new dishes."

"We were there very early (before theatre) so It was veryquiet. I do not know how it would be at the height of the dinner hour.
Everyone was extremely polite and professional.
The Bacala Monticato was excellent as was the Fregola with lamb ragu.
My dining partner said her polenta was excellent as were hersalad and roasted asparagus.
I will return the next time I am in the neighborhood."

"Spasso is a gem! The food and service are wonderful the wine list is delectable. The space itself is welcoming, friendly, and even with the buzz of energetic diners proves to be a perfect place for a great conversation. In nice weather, the outdoor patio is a great place to eat and feel the energy of the neighborhood. Definitely worth checking out!"

"The service was great but the food was disappointing. The stracciatella cheese was delicious and raddicio salad was decent. But pork ragu pasta, the pork was tough and pasta was overcooked. Flat iron steak was not well seasoned and was a little tough. Unfortunately I would not recommend it."

"Beautiful, good food, good service. Tables are a little close so it is a cozy dining atmosphere. Everything we had was great, of course the stracciatella is so delicious that everything after pales (a bit) in comparison. Place is energetic but organized - bar tab was transferred to table easily, waiters don't forget about you.
One things - every time I've been here after 8 pm, they are sold out of a few items. I think this is evidence that they only use fresh & quality products (and therefore, can't pull frozen scallops out of the freezer) but it can be a little disappointing because those scallops are delicious. So plan accordingly.
Very romantic, plenty of PDA on Hudson in the environs and I think Spasso is at least partly to blame"
