Dewz
Judy Aspesi and her son Scott established Dewz Restaurant in 1997. Judy, Scott and their staff strive to continuously provide Dewz customers with great food and excellent service.
Scott named Dewz in honor of his only brother Dewayne who passed away in 1996 at the very young age of 26 after an arduous battle with leukemia.
Along with Executive Chef Vincent, Judy and Scott are 'hands on' owners who energetically oversee the restaurant's everyday operations. Vincent purchases only the finest fresh ingredients for our patrons' dishes and is committed to the meticulous preparation of each plate to asure that you, our guests, enjoy the finest of dining experiences.
Come and experience why we have been voted by readers of the Modesto Bee regional newspaper as their favorite fine dining restaurant for 2008, 2009, and 2010, plus several Awards of Excellence from the Wine Spectator magazine for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.

"All these years we have been driving by Modesto. Now that we found DEWZ, we will be driving into Modesto to eat a fabulous meal. Once a month for sure; maybe more. Great food, delicious , well plated, imaginative, awesome wine list, good servers. No wonder this spot is rated number one in the area. Very happy that we found it. My Veal Escalopes were outstanding, and my husband's Duck was perfect. Their wine list goes beyond, as they have a tasting room next door, so we were able to find a Malbec that we like."

"Dewz has become a favorite for both my wife and I and our family. Over the years we have come to expect superior service and incredible tasting menu selections. This last visit raised the bar. Jerry provided us with perfectly balanced seriousness and humor. His expertise in the area of customer service was evidenced by his attention to every detail.

"I have eaten here before and it has always been fabulous. This time the only NOT fabulous thing was our waiter. He made me feel we were not important and seemed to not be able to coordinate the food and drink very well. We wanted to order an appetizer and wine. His explanation of the cheese plates was weak and when we did order we only got the cheese plate and waited 10 - 15 minutes for our wine. We had to hail him over to order the wine even. Also, when we ordered dinner we again had to hail him over to ask for the sommelier. Fortunately she was on the ball and got us our wine before our entree was served. We have never had this problem before all of the other servers have been impeccable! As always the food was wonderful!"

"We have been to Dewz before and have enjoyed the upsvale restuarant as a special treat, it was small but open and romantic. This time we were celebrating my husbands birthday and decided to go to Dewz for their marvelous ceaser salad. When we told the waiter that we would be continuing on to another restaurant or two the owner came out. After talking for a hit he treated us to their calamari appetizer, which was delicious! Scott made our night extra special when he didn't have to do a thing. He really made us want to come back again and again."

"If you want to feel special, this is the place to go. And if you want to relax, you will enjoy Dewz. No pressure to hurry your dinner. The wait staff was very helpful without hanging over you. "I chose Dewz as the restaurant to take my wife for a special occasion. The ballroom style of the room felt elegant, yet warm. Our waiter was excellent. He spoke with sophistication, yet met us at our level - a middle class couple, out for a nice dinner.
What ruined our dining experience is the way the tables are set up. Tables are spaced apart along each wall. My wife sat against the wall and I sat across from her. The first thing we noticed is that the table was longer than wide. We felt a mile apart. As other couples sat on either side, it felt like we were closer to them than to each other. No privacy for intimate, romantic conversation. We could hear conversations on both sides of us, just fine. We will never, ever go back."
