"This is a must have on your list of outstanding restaurants. The food was perfectly prepared and the service was great without that "hovering" feeling you get at some restaurants. Our steaks were prepared as ordered and the lobster mac and cheese was a delicious suprise. We will be returning!"

"Party of three had two filets and a rib eye. The steaks were perfect, tender and tasty. We had salads to open with and they were delicious. We had Brussels sprouts, Lyonnais potatoes, and asparagus as sides. Each was as good as the rest. Not inexpensive but great for a special occasion."

It was slightly more crowded than I expected and our table wasn't as secluded as I had hoped for, but they did take our reservation only two days in advance. Both my girlfriend and I quickly agreed that we liked Eddie Merlot's much more than Ruth's Chris and any other steakhouse we've tried in Louisville."

"i haven't been here for a regular meal, but the mother's day brunch experience was great. They had some unique items on the buffet like bananas foster and everything was very tasty. "The only reason Eddie Merlot's did not receive an outstanding was the service. While the service was good when they were at our table, I think we were lost in the shuffle a bit. Our main drinks (tea, sodas etc..) were not refilled for quite a while but then it picked up after our meals arrived. After ordering, it took 25 minutes for our salads to arrive and only after we had to ask a passing server to check on it for us. Our server would disappear throughout our evening and we couldn't seem to get anyone's attention except for when someone would come by to top off our water glasses.
The food was excellent and absolutely top notch. The steaks are amazing as well as the sides we ordered."

Then while I still had food in my mouth, all plates were cleared, even 1 dish beans that we were still eating. I guess the server was ready to go. "This was our first time at the restaurant on 4/6/13 & we were very pleased with everything! I planned this affair from Atlanta. They made my mom's surprise 70th birthday party dinner a great success! She really enjoyed her oysters on a half shell and the rack of lamb! My husband loved the well seasoned and tender steak! The atmosphere and waiters were very friendly and professional. They allowed us to put out our party favors by each place setting and the tables looked very festive, but exquisite for the party! We loved the large portions and several guests brought food home, which is very rare. We couldn't have picked a better location to celebrate. My mom wants to return very soon! It was our anniversary. Service was poor, and they knew it. They tried to make up by giving us a complimentary cake for our anniversary, and then the manager came over and wished me a happy birthday. Quality of food was also not up to par!"

"This was the 3rd time I visited this restaurant & won't go back. Two of us ordered chicken. When we cut into the chicken it was still visibly red & had not been thoroughly cooked. The server took our food back,the mgr came to our table & apologized. After 20 min,they actually brought the chicken back out that we had cut on and had taken a few bites of. I couldn't believe they didn't send out a new piece of chicken. We had already finished the vegetables & told the mgr we were done eating. He took only 1 chicken off the bill (I guess because he boxed them up for us to take) & charged us for the remainder of the meal. It was a special occasion & was very unenjoyable,he should have comped the entire bill, considering we only ate vegs & bread."

"We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Hostess greeted us with a "Happy Anniversary" Service was at a leisurely pace not rushed. Manager came by to wish us a happy anniversary. The food was wonderful and our request for Bananas Foster was granted. The whole experience was very romantic and pleasurable."

"The food was excellent, however, I was disappointed by how casually dressed many people were in the restaurant. At one point, 4 of the 5 men sitting at a table near us had baseball hats on, and several others at different tables. Not sure if this is the norm, or if the Lobsterfest brought them out. It was a little disappointing when you are celebrating a special occasion and many others are so casual. We had hoped for a truly "special occasion" restaurant but that was not what it was."

"Everything was wonderful...only problem we had is that it was our anniversary dinner of 30 years..and two guys were seated right next to us and one of the guys was loud and never stopped talking and there were plenty empty tables in the place. So we moved to Bar area and enjoy the rest of the evening after we had eaten."

"My fiance and I booked reservations the same day we ate and were able to get a table with no issues. The food was delicious and the waiter had taken great care of us. We were celebrating two years together and a late Valentine's dinner. Our Waiter even brought as a small dessert for our anniversary. Will definitely consider for our next special occasion!"

"It was good experience overall, in an upscale, pricey, chain restaurant kind of way. Wait staff bordered on too attentive, but I would rather have too much attention versus being ignored. We were sat down the main "aisle" and there was a constant flow of traffic that detracted from the overall ambiance, and the gaggle of wait staff standing by the kitchen entrance was a little distracting."

"We ordered the 6 & 8 oz filet with Eddie's Potatoes and Sauteed Mushrooms, then we had Creme Brulee for dessert. The steaks were high quality and cooked to a perfect medium as ordered. Very flavorful! The server was a chatter box, but I know he was just trying to add to our "first time" experience but we just wanted to get on with ordering. The mushrooms were very good and complimented the steak very nicely. The potatoes tasted very good, although if I were to make any improvements I would use a less stringy cheese and I would cut the potato into smaller pieces. The Creme Brulee was really good! EM's is not our 3rd favorite steakhouse, proceeded by Ruth's Chris and Del Frisco's"

"the positive feed back first. the food was outstanding. now the negative. we received, and enjoyed, our salad and appetizer, however,we waited for 20 minutes for our entrees.we had tickets to go to the kentucky center at 8 o clock but we were in a frenzy to get there. our reservation was at 6 and our show started at 8 which i feel like was ample time. i also felt like it took an undue amount of time to get our car. we could have enjoyed our entrees more but the edge had been taken from our appetite by the time we got our food. you do have a beautiful restaurant and we sat in the bar area which gave us an enjoyable view of the activities at 4th st. live. we wish you continued success--you certainly personify fine dining."
