"Great Vino Nobile. Our tapas were wonderful! We had the scallops, buratta and beet salad, the Tagliatelle Bolognese, and the fennel sausage pizza.The pizza crust was thin and crispy at the center. The highlight of our food order was the Tagliatelle bolognese. To die for!!! If you're into tagliatelle pasta, it was perfectly cut and prepared. The bolognese.... Omg! The Buratta mozzarella is made on sight and lusciously creamy in the center. A lovely meal! Our service was excellent....our server had been there for 7.5 years, I don't recall his name but wanted us to be a Guillermo, which is what we went with!! Fun! He sure knew wis way around the menu! It was very noisy, our only complaint, however it was prime dining time when we were there."

"So loud. However, the food was innovative and delicious. Risotto and house made pasta were incredible. The roasted peppers and duck prosciutto were excellent. The romaine hearts salad was bland, but became better when we added the table's balsamic to it. The gelato was absolutely delicious, make sure to save a lot of room for dessert!"

"I've wanted to visit Quartino since I live in Chicago 4 years ago -- and finally made it this trip through. Sorry I did. Shared some small plates with friends -- we had a great time catching up, but it was in spite of the food. What's up with those veal meatballs? Our server said they're a favorite, but they're so flavorless, I can't imagine why. The pizza was the highlight, and even it was pretty boring. I can't recommend this place, and won't ever return."

"This wasn't my first time at Quartino. In fact, I frequent the establishment with friends, family, co-workers and out of town guests. For me, the Stefano pizza and asparagus risotto are must haves; I get them everytime.
This time, the waiter, Trevor, recommended the pork shank, which has now bypassed both items on my favorites list. It was fall-off-the-bone tender with enough meat in this small plate to serve up three people. The seasoning was mild, which is the best decision as this pork shines on its own. I will be ordering this again... soon!"

"I've been to Quartino more than a dozen times. This was the first time that I had sub par service. Our waiter forgot about two items on our order and we felt rushed to finish our meal and get out. The forgotten food was an honest mistake and our pizza wa comp'd. This was a fluke and they handled it with grace. Would recommend."

"Always a favorite amongst family & friends. I stick to the usual: one seafood (shrimp, clams, or baby octopus); one pasta (cavatelli, orrecchiette, or pappardelle when I'm extra hungry); and a split pizza to share (half margherita, half something else). We were recommended the fumo negli occhi pizza, which was so delicious yet not too heavy despite having plenty of prosciutto, speck, and a mountain of spinach on top. Other favorite go-to items that were skipped over this time due to the warmer weather are the tomato soup, veal meatballs napoli, and polenta fries. Our server Trevor was patient & very accomodating. Food came out with good timing and empty dishes were taken away quickly. Beware Fri & Sat evenings though, extremely crowded!"

"We brought 3 couples with us from Oshkosh. Eight people are hard to seat, treat and be happy. We loved our table, loved our waiter and were thrilled with all of our choices!!!! It became a real party and still had plenty of time to see a show. I'd highly recommend Quartino's. "Really like this restaurant! Great service, and great food. You drop a fork, and the staff has a new one immediately for you. The food did come out quite aggressively, but more than likely they were trying to turn tables at a vigorous rate as it was mother's day. "We brought a group (15) legislators, staff and others to Quartino's to somewhat "break the ice," prior to a long meeting that was scheduled for the next day. To make a long story short, the next day as each legislator/other appeared for the meeting, the first comments were the wonderful time they had at Quartino's. The food was amazing (family style), it was comfortable and the staff was so attentive to our needs and making sure that we were in an area in the restaurant that was quite. Not one negative remark about Quartino's...hope to be back in July, 2013!"

"I love Quartino. The small plates allow you to choose a bunch of things and still pay a reasonable amount. I have gone here in big groups (15+) and also with smaller (3-4) and have had an easy time with the bill every time. Very accommodating. They do get busy on the weekend so the service gets a little slower but still the ambiance is pleasant so talking with your friends and drinking a little longer is fine if you are waiting on something. "The overall ambience of the restaurant was very inviting and friendly, we all felt very much at home. Next, our waitstaff, Lindsey, was absolutely outstanding. She helped us with a special menu for a gluten issue. Just incredibly helpful and attentive! The food was really great. Everyone in our party of six totally enjoyed the smaller portion sizes and passing the plates so everyone could take a taste. A whole stack of saucers was provided on the table for just this purpose. I have the chef/owners cookbook and wanted to try items from that cookbook and every one was outstanding, and we are picky eaters. We are planning a return trip in a month, so many more menu items to try!"

"The food was fantastic, and perfectly portioned to share. I'd say "Italian tapas" would be a fitting description of the menu. Our dessert was delicious. However, the doughnuts were a bit underwhelming, but the gelato and tiramisu were great. Our server was extremely attentive and gave wonderful suggestions. She definitely made the experience that much better!"

"If you want to have any kind of conversation, go early! Food is good, but not spectacular. Portions quite small for the prices (although the server did advise of the portion size). Relaxed atmosphere, so good for families and groups. Not good for a romantic dinner."

"This place is so good, the food is very authentic Tuscan (imho) and I appreciated our waitress being sensitive to getting us out in time for our painting class (around the corner at the Joynt) at 7 pm. The only thing I took a star off each category for, was her not offering us to-go boxes at all, and then the Quattro Stagioni pizza being a little soggy. I think it could do w/o the roasted red peppers on it and then it'd be perfect. I had a great glass of prosecco w/a generous pour, too. Mmmm ~ lvoe this place overall! The spinach prosciutto pizza was perfection."

"Food is very good, nothing stands out to me but everything is good. The pizza is one of my favorites here actually. Good wine list, not just Italian wines. I'm used to loud restaurants, especially in river north, and this is definitely one of them. If you're bringing family or old friends for conversation it's a little loud. If you're going to dinner on a Friday before going out then it's a pretty solid choice. Outdoor patio space was enlarged recently and is really nice, two story patio seating with indoor and outdoor space. Long wait for the patio, even on weekdays but one of the larger outdoor spaces in river north now."

"Quartino has always been a favorite restaurant and this time proved it once again. We had a reservation for 8:30 on a Sunday night and the restaurant was packed when we got there, yet our table was ready when we arrived! I don't know our waiter's name and I feel bad since I am a server/bartender myself and usually find this information out, but he was great. Upon ordering, we were brought a margherita pizza (that was made extra) on the house, and all our entree's came out so quickly, as we mentioned we were in a hurry because we had a concert to attend at the House of Blues. Dinner, drinks and dessert were all delicious, service was great, we will be back soon! Just wish there was a Quartino in the suburbs!"

"Suburban dwellers & we really enjoyed our first visit. Loved the atmosphere from the rustic tables to "vintage" napkins. Very satisfied with our food selections and considering I'm very particular about food quality, I was delighted. Buffalo mozz in the caprese was outstanding. This is what a caprese should look & taste like (would add yellow toms too). Always like more balsamic & to my delight it's right on the table. Home made taste and presentation. Like the sharing concept & really like that it's brought out right when it's up so you keep things moving. Price points were good which helps with a large family. All were satisfied, including great deserts and the bill was very reasaonable. Service was also excellent."
