Dexters of Thornton Park
Dexter's has been in business since 1984. A local and established casual hangout that takes food and wine very seriously. Enjoy over 30 wines by the glass or bottle, full bar, excellent service, and award winning Sunday brunch (peoples choice).
Enjoy a simple build your own sandwich or a carefully prepared entree, everything is made fresh when you order it.
Choose from the main menu or one of the cafe menu inserts that takes advantage of ingredients that are in season. These inserts and winelists change every other month, so there is always something new and different to enjoy !
The cuisine fuses many different culinary styles, there is something for everyone.
The sidewalk cafe is popular as it is located on an old cobblestone street in an eclectic neighborhood.
Wine List pricing is very fair and makes for a nicer bottle to enjoy.
Check insert menus for organics and local farm raised fruit, vegetables and meats.

"I love the creative menu. Portion sizes are much larger than you expect. Had the chicken cutlet - two large pieces that were very good. Also had the bacon-wrapped meatloaf which was excellent. Be careful not to fill up on the fries - my wife and I split the appetizer and it was almost a meal in itself. Prices no higher than you would pay at Carraba's or Red Lobster. I was a bit surprised that there were tables open at 7 pm on a Saturday night. That got me worried - guys please don't go to a big chain restaurant when unique places like this need your business and give you a better value."

"This is the second time we've gone to Dexter's and we love it. It's a bit pricey, but the food is delicious. The bacon wrapped meatloaf is amazing! Our waiter (he's the one with the beard; I wish I could remember his name) served us both times and is excellent. We will definitely be back - we want to try the $1 burger Tuesdays and the brunch on Sundays!"

"The Valentine's Day special was amazingly delicious - surpassed all expectations. However, I had heard good things about the Sunday brunch, but was not at all impressed with the fairly bland Croque Madame and breakfast steak platters. Will return, though, to try other things on the normal dinner menu."

"Dexter's is a tried and true gem in Thornton Park. I especially loved the creative food pairings, like my mahi over pepper jack grits, topped with a fried egg. Our server was more than friendly, and managed to get me a happy-hour priced pineapple mimosa even though we were past the happy hour cutoff time. Dexter's is a reliable spot for great food and great friends."

"Overall amazing restaurant in one of the most eclectic Orlando neighborhoods. The only drawback is the vexing Thorton Park parking situation. Would benefit greatly from a valet lot. But the restaurant itself is fabulous! And the food was spectacular. My only regret is that I couldn't try everything I wanted to because I was too stuffed."

"Met with my family for a pre-baby shower get together for my oldest daughter. We did have to wait a while to get in since we arrived before our 11am reservation, not realizing it didn't open until 11am on Saturdays. My daughter had always gone there on Sundays. She moved away from Orlando several years ago but remembered how much she enjoyed Dexters. It met all the requirments for our family Loved the bloody mary!"

"Our server Megan was very well trained, suggested a great red wine. The specials to choose from for Saturday night were quite suberb. My husband was raving about the Sea Bass for days. The empenadas that we had as an appetizer were quite different (anything with goat cheese is great). When we find ourselves back in Orlando we will stop in to Dexter's for dinner or lunch again."
