"As always, Capri did not disappoint! With roses for all the Moms, I couldn't think of a better way to start our evening. The Bloody Mary Bar was a cool treat. Mom loved making her own Bloody Mary! Our waiter, Dominic, was fantastic as always! Just the right amount of care and attention without going overboard. Our meals were amazing as they always are...I've Never had a disappointing meal here! With cheesecake, canolis and tiramisu for dessert, who could go wrong?!?! Love Capri!"

"We enjoyed the food. Our waiter was a different story; he was so focused on telling the specials and what he recommended which was not our taste at all. We just wanted to ask a few clarifying questions and order. When our food arrived he apparently forgot to include my addition of a chicken breast to my pasta and I had to wait 15 minutes for them to make it. By the time it arrived my sauce had soaked up into my tortellini. He offered a free tiramisu to make up for it but when I said I didn't like them and would take the chocolate cake, he apparently forgot this when he delivered the check. So we probably won't be heading back anytime soon.
Atmosphere was pleasant until the restaurant got packed at which point it became too noisy."

"This place is modern and upscale - yet has a special feel to it - like an old friend. Dress is casual or formal. Pasta was cooked to perfection. Sauces were excellent. Tilapia could have been tastier, but sauce made up for it. Wine by the glass was good, with an ample selection. Our waitress was attentive and friendly with helpful suggestions on food and wine. Our group of 5 celebrated mother's day, as well as a 28th wedding anniversary. The Anniversary couple received a complimentary Tiramisu dessert! This is my 3rd visit and my only real complaint is with the coffee. If they can up the ante on the coffee, I would rate this place outstanding all around. Ask to be seated in the side room if you wish for more privacy and less noise."

"Brian, the owner of capri is very attentive to his customers. We went on a Thursday night when there was entertainment. We we enjoyed greatly. The food was outstanding but the service was on the slow side due to the packed house and people waiting out the door. I have been here quite a few times and definately would recomment capri to everyone."

Nice ambiance and food/wine are fine but about what you would expect relative to the prices paid. "I really loved the atmosphere of this small restaurant. It was romantic and the music was great. It was loud, but I didn't mind the noise because that is what gave the restaurant it's ambiance. The service was great. The wine was good and our salads were fine. I was not impressed with my entree. I had Malfaldina Spinaci and it was quite bland. My husband had the stuffed shells and it was literally four stuffed shells.
I would go back for the service and the live music, but it would not be for the food, it would be for the atmosphere."

"We were skipped on our reservation time and sat 30 minutes late. Once sat, the tables were so close to each other we could hear our neighbors conversations. The food was sub par, the best part was the bread before the meal. I can't fault our server at all as he was fast, friendly and responsive. Location and bread aren't enough to bring me back.....overall poor value."

"Due to the weather on Thursday afternoon, I thought the restaurant would be empty. When we arrived, although not quite full, it was evident that there were quite a number of neighborhood patrons. This was my first visit and I'm glad to say not the last. The food was prepared quite well and to our requests. The wine I had was delicious and came recommended by my wait person. I would not hesitate to return. Having live entertainment was a wonderful bonus that I personally enjoy."

"We had a 7:30 reservation and waited 40 minutes. The staff appeared very disorganized. When I spoke to the manager, he was apologetic but made a statement to the effect that they need all of the business that they can get on Saturday nights. After we ordered, we waited another 35 minutes for our entree. We were over charged by $24.95 in error. Although our waiter seemed very nice and was professional, it didn't make up for our wait(s). We will never return. to Capri in Downers Grove!"

"The food was very good and wine selection was good. The biggest problem for us was that we had reservations at 7:15 PM and did not get seated until 8:00. It was especially a problem for us because we had our son who is handicapped and has weak legs for support; In addition, we had a 97 year old mother-in-law with and she had a difficult standing."
