"I recently moved to CT from NYC and I have been looking for good Greek food... finally in my neighborhood, Estia opened up! I was super excited... Staple dish which I had to have was the gyro and it was pretty good... Nothing compares to food in Astoria but it is definitely close"

"Our Byelorussian waiter was well intentioned but he struggled to understand our order as his English was poor. Also, it was hard to hear each other at our table as we were directly under a speaker. That said, the food was excellent. Especially the mixed grill and the baklava Would definitely go black, but will ask for a different table and a different waiter."

"Pleasant dining room and very attentive service. Appetizers were good, if unexceptional in taste or presentation: a Greek salad, grilled octopus and tzatziki. Two of the four entrees ordered were the grilled lambchops. Both were requested medium rare and both came medium well, with no hint of pink. Accompanying vegetables were ok, with nothing to distinguish them in taste or preparation. The fish entrees were fine, but nothing to write home about. Our party did not order dessert."

"Staff was pleasant and provided excellent service. Food was delicious - entrees were served quickly and piping hot. The Tzatziki appetizer was undoubtedly homemade and my Youvetsi (braised lamb shank) was fall off the bone tender - My date (who is Greek) had the Solomos which was also very good. He said that the Baklava was the biggest portion he had ever seen served at a restaurant and praised it for it's authenticity. We were very pleased on all levels...I will definitely be a returning patron!"

"Admittedly, I'm not a foodie but my wife and I loved Estia. Decided to venture out of our usual set of restaurants - definitely a good move!! We had the tray of dips (apologies for not using the actual Greek name) which were all great and more filling than expected. I ordered the Salmon and my wife ordered the Chicken Souvlaki - both were awesome! The portions were also the perfect size for us. We'll definitely return here in the future.
I should mention that we dined at Estia on a Friday night the week after V-Day which might explain why it was pretty quiet and relaxed (not sure how other nights are). Still, it was great to be able to take our time and enjoy a nice quiet evening out in SoNo."

"Semi-new restaurant but same owners and setup as previous incarnation at this location (was called Rouge before). Really good Greek food and is a welcome addition to the SoNo food scene. Seems to always be a little sleepy so not the kind of place to go for meeting new people in an upbeat atmosphere. However, we seem to always be able to get a table or seat at the bar without a reservation so it has become a go-to for us. Perfect for a quiet dinner or to relax with a bottle of wine."
