North, exemplifies a culinary tradition that blends sophisticated Italian cuisine with the comfort of traditional cooking techniques. The menu features dishes that are created from the freshest ingredients without the unnecessary adornments of cream or heavy sauces. Crispy thin crust pizza, wood roasted entrees, pasta specialties, and a variety of antipasti round out the menu. The world-class wine list features 30 selections by the glass, terzo (third of a bottle) or bottle. North also offers a variety of specialty cocktails including Lemon Nortes made with Limoncello liqueur and Frizzantes, a flute of Prosecco sparkling wine with fresh fruit puree.

"Something has changed in this restaurant since the last time we have eaten here. Dried food was on the menu. The wine glasses had a soap film on them. The floor was dirty with what looked like used sweetener packs on the floor. The gluten free pasta wasn't cooked all the way or not rinsed before it was served. The lasagna had sections that were dried and burnt. The server was good and attentive but could not fix the above items.
Like I said, it was so dramatic a change, I would be willing to bet there has been a management and/or chef change in the last six months."

"Pros: The food was excellent, as well as the wine we chose for our meal. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and our waiter brought us 3 complimentary delectable desserts. Yummy! Cons: The bartender mistakenly made a Manhattan for my husband with Maker's Mark, although my husband specifically said the house bourbon (Jim Beam) was acceptable. Like all of the restaurants in the Fox Restaurant Group, NoRTH was so noisy that my husband and I could barely understand our waiter. The only reason we chose the restaurant was because my boss had given us a gift certificate for the place. We have also been to Sauce and the Greenhouse (other Fox Restaurants) and hope to never go back because the noise level is deafening."

"Great food, nice lighting = dim! I am not a fan of brightly lit places and this was perfect. Not so dark that it was difficult to read the menu, but no glare at all. I was asking about cocktails and our waiter suggested one that was not on the menu and it was wonderful, summery - I think is was called The Botanical. It had cucumber and gin and lime. Great suggestion of you like that type of thing."

"A group of eight gathered for a special dinner celebration. We were placed in the 'room for large parties' and had to shout at each other to be heard. Service was excellent, and the server did a wonderful job considering the adjacent tables of over 30 very boisterous end-of-happy-hour guests. The food was not great: pasta was overcooked, salads were rather bland. Not a place I would return."

"We have visited North several times during trips to Scottsdale and felt comfortable recommending them to our guests. We booked a reservation for 9 at 6:45 pm on a Monday. We found the restaurant way under staffed causing delays in every facet of the dining experience. Making the experience even worse, when we approached the manager on duty about getting help for our server, he said he wasn't the manager (I think he was trying to be cute). He also seemed very interested in the cell phone that particular night.
The server worked very hard and apologized often for our delays.
I hope this was a one-time poor experience because we know how great the place can be if managed properly."

"The food and service once we sat down was great but they were very unorganzied at the hostess stand with alot of people waiting and many tables open. We were told that it would be a 45 minute wait (we didnt make a reservation) and then I logged onto the OpenTable app and was able to make a reservation immediately, seems a little weird.
The experience was still good and the all day happy hour on Sunday is a great deal especially with 50% off bottle of wine!"

"Extremely disappointed.NoRTH was one of my favorite restaurants here since moving to Scottsdale.We took friends there from Australia so they can try it.My favorite dish there was the short rib pasta with capers, peppers, red sauce, and ribbon pasta.I cannot believe this but they took it off the menu and replaced it with this horrible gnocchi ricotta cream sauce that was so bland it took everything in me not douse it with salt just so it could have flavor.Who in their right mind would replace such a wonderful dish for this?The ONLY saving grace is that the service here is (always has been) wonderful.The server knew how disappointed I was and had the chef make the old dish.That was very nice of them but I am still in shock that it's gone."

"Overall very good meal, and we will definately go back. Sat on the small patio area--nice to be outside, but it's right on the sidewalk--so nothing special there. Started with bruschetta--made with asparagus instead of tomatoes--different, and good, but I prefer tomatoes on my bruschetta. Beet salad was awesome and so was my beef short ribs gnocchi. My husband had a peperoni and sausage pizza that was very well made, but VERY salty."

"This was my first visit to NoRTH. My friend and I sat outside during dinner. The noise levels were minimal, the heater worked well; it was cozy and inviting. Our server was friendly though not quick to refill coffee or water. The menu offered a variety of options which was nice. However, our first entrees were so salty they were inedible. The second order seemed to take even longer to prepare than the first time (though perhaps that was our hunger level elevating.) When we finally received our second round of entrees, my food had nice flavoring though the sea bass was overcooked. My friend seemed to enjoy her salmon."
