"Chef Frey is doing amazing things at Blue Fire Grill (La Costa Resort). The Food and Service were outstanding. My husband and I are NEVER disappointed when we come to Blue Fire Grill. This visit we shared the Porterhouse Steak and I was literally sucking the bone after our meal :) Delicious!!!"

"We really love this place....it is our "go to" place to bring friends when they're visiting in North County. Awesome food, great scenery and 5 star service (kudos to our favorite waiter, Ed)!! Cocktails overlooking the golfcourse and then dinner at Bluefire....doesn't get much better!"

"Another fantastic evening at Blue Fire Grill at the La Costa Resort. The service was outstanding and the waitress really knew the menu and her wines. There were five of us and everyone raved about their meals. The pork ragu was sensational. I asked if she could make the dinner-size risotto into an appetizer for me and she happily complied. It was out of this world. The halibut melted in your mouth and the filet was divine. The desserts were incredible and perfect to share. What a great dining experience!"

"I made reservations. I wanted to take my friend to a great dinner before a Chopra event. Problem was so did everyone else so it was very slow coming out of the kitchen for us. Mine was a bit cool by the time I got I dinner. The food was good and we did get out with enough time to get to our evening event."

"Don't waste your time and money. Plenty of better choices of restaurants with better tasting food and service in the neighborhood. Taste of food was mediocre and expensive for the quality. There was a $7 charged for so called Evian water, but it was not Evian water at all. So, after discussion with the server, it was taken of the bill. A very disappointing experience."

"Food was phenomenal. But what really sets this place apart is the service. The waiter who served us over two months ago came to our table and said hello to us!! It was a really nice touch. We had a good conversation, and he even brought out our next round of drinks. We love coming here, and I'm wondering why more people don't come here. This is a real gem for North County, and the entire experience will exceed even the most discerning diner's expectations. We plan on coming back more frequently. Keep up the great level of customer experience!!"

"Expensive but innovative and tasty.. Both main courses ( seafood and pork ragu) were flavorful and well prepared. Only complaint was we were served what tasted like Hersey's chocolate syrup with the delicious homemade chocolate gelato. That was a shame and I couldn't use the syrup. It ruined the ice cream. It should have been homemade or not served at all."

"My wife and I visited BlueFire during a weekend stay at La Costa. We considered leaving the resort for dinner, but opted to try BF. We each ordered specials, which turned out quite nicely. I ordered 18oz bone-in steak, with wild mushroom side, while she ordered Seafood Gumbo. My steak was fabulous, her Gumbo was enjoyable. She felt it was too Cajun spicy, but imho it was yummy.
Service was attentive, and the final bill was about $240 with several drinks and tip. We would likely consider a return visit."

"Blue Fire Grill was such a disappointment. More than anything the service was poor and the food wasn't good enough to make up for the lack of service that you'd expect at a resort with these price points. I would not recommend and would not return. The only positive item of note was that the bottle of wine we ordered was exceptional. Unfortunately, I think this restaurant gets by simply because they cater to tourists who are only in town for a limited time. I think if they are expecting return guests, they have a long way to go."
