"This restaurant is a treat for me to go to. I love the food, the wine list appeals to me, and the atmosphere is great. Bonus, it's close to home and I don't have to travel into a crowded and busy part of town. Usually, the service is great."

"Came here with my family for my wifes birthday and they never fail to impress me with there service and abilities in that kitchen the chefs are amazing and go out of there way to do things for the dinners most other place's dont. you have a request for something not on the menu they do there best to make it for you and always with a smile. its a modern day cheers where dining here they make you feel like family."

"John Palmers has been very good each time we've went. The steaks are the best in lake county and have plenty of apps and salads, they always have specials and always have amazing fresh seafood on the menu. I've never seen the same specials from week to week which means there changing things and trying new things out which i love. We will be returning for sure"

"While the service received from our server (Cindy) was outstanding and the food very good....the atmosphere on this particular night was less than desirable. It was a music night and while the musician/singer was reasonably good, the volume level on his equipment was so loud that sitting at the opposite end of the dining room, we had difficulty having a conversation with each other as well as hearing the server. Before returning again, we most definitely will call before making reservations to find out if there is a musician playing. This is not the kind of atmosphere that a fine dining establishment should project!!!"

"Our business was entertaining clients on Valentine's day which can sometimes be a recipe for disaster, but not at John Palmer's. We had a reservation for 6 but the boss graciously let one of the Reps bring his wife along and they were able to comfortably add her to our round table. The staff was professional but fun and always attentive even though the restaurant was packed for the holiday. The staff made good suggestions of what appetizers worked well for sharing in a group. And the food did not disappoint either. The offerings were creative and the portions were good and left just enough room to fit in dessert -- of which we tried about 5 and nonething was left over."

The potaoes were perfect, the green beans were crisp. When offered dessert we explained that I couldn't have sugar, but would enjoy fresh berries. They put together a wonderful

"We've been there before and had better experiences, so I don't want to overstate our disappointment. But, it seems the place has changed into more of a bar scene/hangout than a fine dining restaurant. The bar area was packed to overflowing and very noisy. We had reservations for 8:30 but were not seated until almost nine. It was Valentine's Day weekend, but they had set up a part of the dining area for a corporate group dinner where a guy gave a drunken speech then proceeded to award gifts amid hooting and hollering. A poor decision to allow that event when many couples likely were there for a quiet dinner together. Maybe we just made a bad choice, but at $150 for our dinner for two, this restaurant fell well short of expectations."

"Our evening turned into frustration, not enjoyable Started off with arriving to no one at the hostess station Stood in the doorway for nearly 10 min wondering if we had come in the right entrance We got an appetizer with the meal, no dessert, and we were there for 2 hours! The waitress was pushy with placing th order. We said we needed a minute to look over the menu and she stood there waiting, asking twice if we were ready yet. Appetizer was tuna sashimi which came with 3 sauces, no explaination of what they were. 45 min between app and main-no reason/apology When the food came out the veg was cold Other tables came and went while we were there so kitchen didn't appear backed up Overall careless attitude toward customer will keep me away"
