"Our experience was excellent! From the time we pulled up and our car was valeted, to our table and magnificent view, to the waiter's help, to the incredible food (chateaubriand) and dessert, to the firework show afterwards (Fri and Sat nights). It was a relaxing and awesome evening."

"Need a special place for someone special? Just go. Food was excellent. Service was great. Views are second to none in Galveston. Get there in time for a sunset view from the bar and finish with a wonderful dinner and other excellent views in the dining room. The food was perfect and the wine list was ample, but not overwhelming. Enjoyable to say the least."

"I took my wife there for our anniversary and had a wonderful evening. The food was great and the wait staff was very helpful. I had the veal and my wife had the lamb chop. Both were delicious. And the desserts are great. I definitely recommend the dessert sampler."

"My niece and her boyfriend were celebrating an anniversary and I knew they would be on Galveston Island. I recommended Shearn's. I have been there several times and the experience has always been memorable. It is one of the last places in Galveston where you can have a true "fine dining" experience.
They both came back gushing about the evening. It is also where I had a surprise birthday party for my wife's 40th. It's a "can't go wrong" choice for me."

"The food and service were both top-notch. We had the grilled tuna and blackened salmon, and both were wonderful - my date and I ended up switching plates halfway through so we could each get enough of each other's dish! I definitely recommend getting your fish blackened here, because it's full of flavor but not too spicy.
As for desserts . . . get the creme brulee or the sampler. Hands down the best creme brulee I've had - delicious, creamy and light. The sampler has portions of their creme brulee, bread pudding, cheesecake, and a pastry puff with ice cream.
And the view from our window table was just as good as the food, although we didn't get to see the full sunset there, so we wandered the hotel grounds for a bit."

"We rely upon OpenTable for all our needs across the USA and always secure reservations at Restaurants/ Cafes and Bistros featured. We have never made use of any of these in Hotels. But alas, we had made an exception and gave this a try. Results were spectacular - both in food, service and view atop the ninth floor of the Moody Gardens Hotel. For those that prefer traditional ambiance - this is suggested, !!"

"I wrote last month about a disappointing issue with a waiter. I went back to give it another try and am thrilled to report that it was a wonderful experience. Our server, Michael, took excellent care of us. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive without being pushy. The food was excellent, and it was a real treat to meet the chef as he stepped out to visit with patrons. The lounge next to the restaurant is a great place to finish up the evening listening to live music. Thank you, Shearn's! We will definitely be back."
