"Service was agonizingly slow! 30 min at Table before a drink order, hour in and still no appetizers and it continued on and on. It was so hot in the restaurant 100% humidity . A very long night most food was good when it finally did come out."

"Obtained a coupon through Amazon Local at 50% off and planned to use it in February. (Definitely recommend reservations if you're dining on the weekend to avoid a long wait.) Finally made a reservation for hubby's b-day and it was so worth the wait. Love the half-price baked mussels appetizer and the lobster rolls. Great selection of specialty sushi and standard entrees. Had the Chilean Sea Bass - OMG, fantastic flavor. Will definitely go there again."

"This was my first time here. They take reservations (make sure you arrive simultaneously, or they won't seat you.) Their cocktails are well crafted and their prices are fair. The Drunken Fish roll is a must! Their fried rice is big enough for at least 4! The staff is courteous and make the dining experience enjoyable. The management stops by multiple times to ensure everything is to your liking. I will definitely will be back!"

"I came here with my mother and sister for a fun dinner out. My mom lives in KC and my sister and I both live in different cities so when we get together, we have a lot of catching up to do. The noise level was perfect so that we could easily carry on a conversation, but not too quiet that we felt like the whole restaurant could hear us. We heard that the Happy Hour was one of the best in town so we went on a Friday night to check it out. What a deal. We each had a couple drinks and we shared 5 sushi rolls (which were of very good size) and spent a lot less than expected for a fabulous evening out. Next time, we will try to sit on the rooftop patio, which was closed due to rain that evening. Overall, we had a wonderful time!"

"My wife and I came here for the first time just prior to the Fleetwood Mac concert and had fortunately made reservations through OpenTable, as there was a one hour-plus wait for walk-ins.
Cool atmosphere and great food (we've had sushi everywhere from New York to San Francisco). Fun takes on classics and tasty originals. Even went back the next day to get carry out for the three sushi fans at home. Will definitely be back!"

"Not a big sushi fan, neither is my husband or the two people that wanted to go there. But I"ll try anything once. I liked everything but the food and with a recommendation by the waitress....I ended up with Sushi. We had the calamari appetizer and it was very chewy. The lettuce wraps were good. My husband had the stir fry and he said it was o.k. Don't think I"ll be going back. Did like the atmosphere though. Small bar area which was very crowded."

"Hostess was rude and incorrect about her estimates of timing. She told us we'd have to wait an hour and a half for a table but we were able to sit within 25 minutes. If we had listened to her, we would have probably just left and gone elsewhere. "Because we were attending a show at Sprint Center on a Saturday, we made reservations months in advance. When we arrived, we were shown to the bar table directly behind the hostess stand. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and were told we should be happy they saved our table because many people in the bar were trying to take it. All night we had bar patrons standing right next to our table and pushing into my chair as they passed. It made for a rather unpleasant dining experience. It was almost 10 minutes before a server even visited our table and over 45 minutes from then to get our food with no explanation/apology for the delay. I love the food at Drunken Fish, but the service (even at lunch) is always horribly slow."

"Drunken Fish...I have a love/hate relationship for them. Sushi is okay. Fish is fresh, but I've had both worse and better. I like it because their strawberry cheesecake dessert roll is fantastic. I don't like it because it's expensive and I seem to always get sat in the worst spot in the restaurant (like RIGHT next to the door on a cold, crowded night). This last time, I froze our entire meal as everytime someone opened the door, I got blasted by cold wind. Drunken Fish is exciting and fun, but it's not the best sushi for the price."

"Drunken Fish is definitely a popular place. I recommend making a reservation at least a week in advance. It opens at 5pm and fills up quickly - by 6:30 the wait was nearly 2 hours. Our group had sushi and all of it was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and looked great on the plate. The special rolls were the best, but I felt they were pricy with some at $16. On the other hand, they had reasonable priced wines by the glass and bottle. Our server, Steve, was very friendly and really tried to make sure we had a good night. The only complaint I have is that our drink service was slow the whole meal. For example, we ordered a round of drinks before dessert, but didn't get them until we were nearly finished. Other than that, great!"

"We went to Drunken Fish prior to a concert recently. We had been once before and were very excited to return. We arrived at 530 allowing us 2 hours to eat and get to the concert. It took an hour to get a bowl of edemame (soybeans with salt). We got our waters refilled twice. We let our server know at 630 that we needed to be at the concert and he assured us he would take care of us in plenty of time. After that he basically ignored us the remainder of the time we were there. At 650 we were told that we still had "several" orders in front of ours before our dinner was made. At 700 we had to cancel our order and leave. Never going back!"

"We had a 5:15pm reservation on a Saturday. It was a concert night downtown as well as numerous other activities going on. We arrived at the restaurant at 4:55 and were sat immediately. The restaurant was not crowded. We ordered a few drinks and 2 appetizers and drinks/food arrived fairly promptly. At 5:30pm we placed an order for 3 orders of sushi. By 6:30 we still had not received sushi. The restaurant was crowded by this time and the wait staff was VERY overwhelmed. Our waitress stopped by and said she would check on our food. At 6:45 we notified a manager (male) and told him was what going on. He was very rude and kept saying that they were doing to the best they can. We ended up leaving at 7pm to get to show..no sushi!"

"Food was great but service was terrible! Out waiter was friendly but forgot half our order... normally that really wouldnt be a big deal but it took a full hour to even get our appetizers... The place was packed but c'mon, an hour?! Way too much money spent for a so-so evening... We felt like our waiter could read that we were disappointed but he didnt act on the reaction."

"Although I gave excellent reviews, we did however have one complaint. Our reservation was for 8:15, we arrived around 7:30 because previous event ended earlier than expected. We were told we would be seated closer to our reservation time, which was understandable. 8:45 rolls around and we still haven't been seated. It wasn't until many attempts at talking with the hostess and then finally flagging down a manager that we were finally seated. Everything else was amazing!"

"DF is a very dynamic, vibrant eatery -- if you are a 20 something. Be warned, if you are a 50 something, you will not be seated in the dynamic, vibrant part of the restaurant, you will be shuttled upstairs with the rest of the non 20 somethings. The hostess tried to seat us in the entryway to the upstairs dining room even though only three other tables were occupied. She had to find out if there was a server for a seat by the window. It wasn't our attire; from the window I could see the valets in front of The Bristol. 50% of the men leaving their cars were dressed like my husband -- dress jeans, white dress shirt and boots. The waiter never put in our order for salad, even though he questioned us about the ginger dressing."

"We had a large party of 11 on a Saturday night at 6:30. We ordered a lot of sushi and drinks. Our waitress took too long to refill our drinks and kept forgetting things that we needed - there were not enough place settings or plates. She brought our sushi, and it took another 10 minutes to bring out the dish for soy sauce. However, the food was really good, and we were able to have a great time despite the poor service."
