"So happy we had reservations... all tables were taken and they had to turn people away! The trout was excellent and the service impeccable! I had hurt my knee and it was no trouble at all for the wait staff to provide me with a bag of ice! I will always be grateful!"

"We walked in and were seated and asked if we had a show.. when we said no, the gentleman told us- well unless your going to be finished in an hour, I'm going to have to move you, I need this table. He is the one who sat us there in the first place. SO we choose to move to the back, I guess they had a private event in the restaurant but we were there for 2 hours and nothing arrived. Very odd and rude staff. Good Food though. Love the fresh block cheese touch!"

"Our group had a reservation for a late night dinner, after attending a Broadway musical about one block from the restaurant. As it turns out, we were the only diners that night and the wait staff abruptly informed us upon our arrival. They hovered around us, prompting us to finish quickly and leave. We were very uncomfortable, although our hastily consumed food appeared to be good. We did not expect something like this from a Theater District restaurant accepting 11 pm reservations."

"The price fixed menu offered a good variety at very reasonable prices for New York City dining. I liked the fact that there were several risotto dishes to choose from on the various menus (regular, price fixed and specials). The service was very good. We were seated promptly, and we had no problems making our show time. The dishes we had included the polenta appetizer, 2 seafood risottos, the salmon with dijon mustard, cheesecake and chocolate cake. I will definitely dine there again when we are in the area."

"Absolutely loved this place - just out of the hustle and bustle of Times Square by a block. It was very romantic with live piano music throughout the meal with nice lighting. Was perfect place for a romantic dinner in NYC. The food was awesome too, the veal piccata was very tender and the risotto was very flavourful. Only less than great thing was the caesar salad which was not as good as others I have had. Overall a great romantic dinner out in NYC."

"Found La Rivista through an online search for restaurants in the theater district. The location was great as St. Luke's theater was right across the street. Upon entering the restaurant we were seated right away at a large table facing the front. Seating was comfortable with plenty of room to move around without disturbing other diners. The menu was extensive with a large variety to choose from. The food arrived relatively quick and was fresh and delicious. The pasta dishes we ordered were especially good and nicely sized. The noise level, however, was a bit high, but that is to be expected based on the location of the restaurant (theater crowd). All in all, an enjoyable experience and meal."

"We were sent to this restaurant when visiting NYC about 10 years ago when my children were in grade school. We have returned every time we were back in the city over that time period and have never been disappointed. The food is always wonderful. It is close to theaters and hotels. You won't be disappointed."

"We went right after seeing Cat on A Hot Tine Roof in the theater for an early Sunday dinner.
The appetizer selection of cheeses, meats and marinated veggies was excellent. The Caesar salad was very good......I had a pasta dish that was well made, good flavors. we will go again"

"Went back to La Rivista again and wasn't disappointed. My girlfriend and I booked a reservation for Valentine's Day here after loving it the first couple times. I put in the notes to have a rose placed on the table instead of the usual flowers and sure enough, it was on the table when we arrived. She obviously loved that, especially when all other tables hadn't requested it. The food never disappoints. Some cheaper wines available so you never end up overpaying here like you will at many other restaurants in the city. The entrees are reasonably priced even though they probably should be more expensive. This is becoming our favorite restaurant, hands down. Not just because we enjoy the food a lot, but just everything about it."

"Play ended later than we thought. We arrived late for a 10:30 reservation. Everyone was more then accomodating kitchen stayed open for us! Wonderful evening. Food was excellent. Service perfect.
