"Dan's has always been a favorite of ours and this last visit was no exception. A reliable menu of continental style dishes adjusted seasonally does not disappoint. My rack of lamb was done just the way I like it (rare).My dining companions enjoyed the duck breast and filet. Sweet potato soup appetizers were creamy and delicious. The brioche bread pudding and chocolate soufflé desserts were very good as well. We highly recommend Dan's."

"Dan's is a great restaurant where you're treated like family. The service people are friendly and really attentive. Me and my lady go there often and we are never dissatisfied. The food is always great and the ambiance reminds one of a quiet chateau in Southern France. The original building was built in the late 1700's and that adds to the charm of the place. Dan, the chef, actually comes out and checks on you..."

"Still the Best Restaurant in Reading- Food is fantastic--- New Menu preparations very good, 3 specials the day we were there- Too many good choices - menu almost too many choices for fine dining. Service was Perfect. Only place that still "crumbs" the table."

"I don't want to write a poor review, but I expect more from Dan's.
Dan's website claims that they are attempting to provide a contemporary alternative to the traditional Berks County dining scene. I think they have failed. Don't get me wrong, the food is very good, but it is no different than the food you will find elsewhere in Berks County. If they really want to be a contemporary alternative, they need to be more creative with their food options. From what I've seen the menu has not changed in several years. Spice it up and add menu options that are not typical. Add more vegetarian and vegan options.
The location is wonderful and the restaurant could be the best in Berks, but right now its just OK."

"Excellent Service and Food. The new location is Fantastic with plenty of parking and an elegant (but still simple) "Old Word Charm". There is a newer room in the back for those that may not appreciate the historic building the way we do. Lobster, Scallops and Lamb were all wonderful. The longest wine list that I have seen around here and my glass never went dry, very attentive servers and owners."
