Cafeteria 15L is Sacramento's premier comfort and eclectic urban restaurant offering American comfort cuisine with a classic flair. Designed by the designers of The Park and Mix Downtown, Cafeteria 15L features 2 outdoor patios. The use of reclaimed woods, industrial light fixtures, and an array of mixed and matched chairs create and atmosphere both whimsical and cozy.
Traditional dishes are created with a twist to evoke the nostalgia and comfort of a home-cooked meal. Open for lunches, dinners, and late night weekend dining. Cafeteria 15L’s menu items feature farm to table fresh homespun creations.
Join us for our Happy Hour every Monday through Friday, 4pm to 7pm. Cocktail specials and discounts on small plates. Available in the bar, lounge and patio only.

"We went with a group of 8 to celebrate a birthday. A few of us arrived early enough to have a couple of drinks at the bar before dinner. The bartender was really nice and mixed us up some excellent drinks! We had dinner out on the patio. Everyone commented on what a great space the outdoor area is. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeble. We ordered an appetizer, dinners and a couple of desserts to pass around the table at the end. We were served quickly and all the food was delicious. Overall a very enjoyable evening!"

"We chose Cafeteria 15L for its proximity to the theatre. I have dined there two times previously and enjoyed the food and all around vibe of the restaurant. You can chose indoor or outdoor dining. My sister and daughter had the braised short ribs, fantastic! The trio of fries is great bar food if you are just in for a drink."

"Our group of 8 was seated at 5 pm. We told the waitstaff we had to get to the graduation at the Memorial Aud. a little after 6. The service was prompt but relaxed. We never felt rushed. Food was very good--from hamburger to the salmon. Excellent spot for Memorial Aud events."

"Located just a block from the Community Center Theater, this is a great spot for eating before or after the show. Very accommodating to theater goers and sensitive to show times.

"This was one of many return visits to 15L. The restaurant provides valet parking which stays open until the shows at the Community Center end, which is why we visit fairly often. That said the menu is fairly short and simple with good food. We tried the frito misto as an appetizer, as were quite satisfied. We have never had com[plaints about the quality of the food or the way it was prepared. The servers are very busy, yet still take time to make sure you are comfortable and the food was as ordered."

"We really enjoyed your dinner at Cafeteria 15L. We were at the Sacramento Community Center Theater and looking for a good place to eat after the show. I found Cafeteria 15L on line and it had very good reviews so I went ahead and booked a reservation site unseen. It turned out to be a perfect location and the food was very good. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the ambiance. We liked the variety of the menu as well."

"The ambiance was great and our server was fantastic. One individual in our party had the chicken and waffles. We were told that was a signature dish and it was good. The thinly sliced french fries were delicious. I had the fish and chips. It was bland. The fish was cooked well. But, it lacked any type of flavor. Even the tarter sauce was lacking. The other dishes severed were good. None of the food stood out as great or made anyone want to come back to eat. However, we all decided we'd enjoy returning for drinks and appetizers. Over all our experience was good and I'd recommend this restaurant for a place to gather and enjoy each other socially. It has a great location and the service is wonderful."

"In spite of all the new choices, I still think this is one of the best, consistently good places for a lunch in Sacramento. The food is a mix of lighter and fresher comfort foods like grilled chees and tomato soup or salmon club and some local and fresh mixed in. The portions are generous and the price is mid range. It is a lively place but you cna still carry on a conversation. The outdoor spaces is unveatable.. THer eis the is garden/ cabana area shared with Mah Jongg's that turns steamy at night adn the outdorr sapce alon 15th that is on the street so less quite but more lively. We were in a bit of a rush and the server accomodated us without making us feel like we wereputting him out."

"We have never been disappointed when we have dined here. The service and food are always excellent. Whether you order a small plate and a salad or a full entree, the food is always prepared as described and delicious.

"I could not have been more happy with my entire experience at Cafeteria 15L. I had made reservations and then had to add an additional 3 people the night before. I was told that we would have to squeeze 9 people into a table that serves 8 and I totally understood. Due to the fact that it was last minute, I said we would make it work. When we arrived 15 minutes early, not only did they seat us right away but they upgraded our table to fit 12 people so we were not crammed!!! It was awesome! Immediately I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was top-notch - spicy like I ordered!! Also, our waitress Karen could not have been more awesome! Not only did she provide excellent service, she happily split up our bill in accordance to the 3 groups we had!"

"Had a very nice time with a diverse group of 7, with varying tastes. Happily, all were satisfied. I loved the Chicken and waffles, which was awesome. Large portion of boneless chicken, perfectly crispy coating, with moist interior. The gravy was especially good, and the dish also comes with a nice dollop of pecan butter. Wow. Delicious."

"Food is generally good, not remarkable; nice, casual type of place. Decent wine list. I don't understand why you remove some favorites from the menu - like the lentils, the goat cheese stuffed peppadew peppers, etc. I understand seasonality, but if you have a popular item, leave it there or update it."

"The Cafeteria 15L is a fun place to go with friends for happy hour and a quick bite. The atmosphere is 'hip' and fun, but TOO LOUD for a nice dinner if you want to visit with your company. The service is fast, but nothing special. I had hoped to have patio seating but it was full and we were not given the choice to wait for a table outside. This was no surprise as it was noted when I made the reservation that patio seating is limited. We were in no hurry though, so we would've waited for outdoor seating if offered. I will go to Cafeteria again and hope next time the patio space is open as the Cafeteria has really cool outdoor seating when events are not happening."

"This is a fun place to go and a great location. We used the valet parking and then left our car there while we went to the theater. I tried the Prawn Haystack appetizer. It had a raw egg yolk on the bottom. I was dubious, but it was delicious. The egg made a great sauce - I would definitely order it again. I also ordered the French Onion soup. I had had this before and thought it was delicious. Unfortunately they changed the recipe. It was now like a grilled cheese sandwich on top of onion stew. Still tasty, but I was really looking forward to the yummy broth and not something so thick."

"I live in West Sacramento, but I'm a native of the Central City. Love seeing all the changes to the downtown dining scene. Found Cafeteria15 through Open Table when looking for a place to take out-of-town guests. Great food, super bar and a comfortable ambiance. LOVED the tomato soup! Waiter was a tad attentive, but not what I would call bad. Food was delivered promptly and hot, and the waiter was informed and helpful with choosing from the menu.
I thought the portions were large, but that made for a good lunch the next day."

"Third time dining at Cafeteria 15L. This has become a "go to" place for dining near the State Capitol. Food is excellent and very creative. We enjoyed Easter brunch during this visit. I ordered one of the specials, bacon eggs benedict on brioche. It was very tasty, with homemade hollandaise. The addition of bacon under the eggs was perfect. Serverd with a side of their homemade potato tots, there was plenty to eat and we were very satisfied. I would recommend 15L to everyone wanting a great meal close to the State Capitol and midtown."

"Loved the trio of fries. Generous quantity, reasonable price, and tasty. Waitress was very helpful and patient in answering questions, and even asked the kitchen a couple of things. There wasn't a kids menu, but she managed to get a special request side of asparagus for our granddaughter. Spent Easter afternoon having a leisurely and tasty meal. The braised short ribs were our group's favorite (besides the fries!)."
