Kunkel's Seafood & Steakhouse
The Kunkel family was introduced to the restaurant business in 1979, when Carol & John purchased a well established luncheonette located on Kings Highway in Audubon, called Del"s Luncheonette. The family lived above the business and our children were exposed to the restaurant business at a very early age. Family has always been one of the key ingredients to our success in every restaurant that we have owned or have operated since then.
The feel of family is evident throughout Kunkel's, from the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by Carol, all the way to the kitchen where son Justin is preparing some of our great meals. You feel at home in our cozy dining room featuring two fireplaces and mahogany and painted woodwork throughout, which was designed and built by John. You will also find daughter's Rachel and Tereze occasionally serving our guests, as well as son-n-law Jim overindulging on pasta on Tuesday nights.

"A large party of 8 was treated just as well as a party of 2. Service was excellent! The steaks were amazing and done to each person's preference. The portions are ample and every thing is fresh. The dressings are homemade and you can tell. Delicious. Wonderful atmosphere. Even diners at other tables were friendly. This is a gem!"

"It was our first visit and I must say the food was excellent on all counts everyone throughly enjoyed their meal. The servers were very pleasant-but not very attentive for a slow evening. We waited quite a while between servings and although again it was not busy -plates of those finished were taken before others were finished eating.

"My husband and I visited this restaurant for the second time. Our only complaint is that there was no way that we could make a substitution on the menu We do not eat meat and cheese together; and the steak came with gouda cheese on it. When my husband asked if it could be made without the cheese; he was informed that since it was a prix fixe menu, it could not be done. My husband chose another entree that he liked. Perhaps there could be a way that cheese or other toppings could be put on the side. It seems that a fine restaurant like this should have been able to cater to this request."

"I gave the service very good because when your finished eating they take you dish away before the other person is done. I have worked in the restaurant industry years ago and I was always taught to waiting for all parties to be finished before removing dishes, other then that the food was more than outstanding and my hat off it the Chef"

"Good BYOB restaurant. We went the Saturday of Valentine's day so it was crowded and service was good and the food came out of the kitchen on a timely basis. My ribeye was cooked correctly, tasted good and everyone else enjoyed their meals. It seemss to be a bit pricy as most BYOBs are since they do not have alcohol service."

"I brought out of town friends in for dinner this past Sunday as a bribe for their help with fixing up our rental property. We got the Sunday Prix Fixe and they were very impressed with the quality and portion size of the meal. I took them to Kunkels because the food Is great and the staff is always so pleasant (and no one seems to mind if you wear clothes that were worn to put in countertops and clean up). I'm sure they'll want to return next time they visit!"

"As always, eating at Kunkle's is a delight. The food is consistently wonderful, prepared to perfection. This visit happened to be during "Taste of the Town" week, and the prefix meals were only $25.00 for 3 courses. My wife, daughter and I ordered different appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and every bite was splendid. My daughter Nicole is a "foodie" and it was her first time at Kunkle's. She was very impressed and said she will return. Carol Kunkle stopped by our table to chat and made certain we were pleased, as she does with all the customers. I highly recommend this fine family restaurant."
