"We've eaten at many "restaurant row" restaurants over the years....don't know how we missed this one. The food was outstanding: 1 steak, 1 pasta with eggplant, 2 veal with asparagus. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we look forward to returning and trying out dishes we missed this time."

"Went here before seeing a play. We were done with our meal in plenty of time to comfortly make the show and did not feel rushed out by the staff. Food was very good especially the veal. Price for dinner was reasonable for Restaurant Row."

"The appetizers and salads are good. Perhaps we should have tried their signature streak, because the lasagna was way overcooked and mushy and the shrimp, too. Deserts were very good. The service was very attentive, and although the restaurant gets a before and after show crowd, we could still carry on a normai conversation."

"We were in NYC to see Broadway shows, etc. Researched restaurants and selected Bistecca Fiorentina for one evening before the theater. Wow, it was fantastic. The hot appetizer was great, both of us had veal dishes that were perfect. Very good cheesecake for dessert. The team oriented service made it absolutely top notch. Great place!!"

"Old World Charm! Fantastic food, combined with superb service made for a wonderful evening. I have been to many restaurants in nyc and this one is a stand out because the menu is diverse enough to please everyone in your party, or just a party of two. They pay attention to detail and take the time to speak with you. My college aged son loved the house steak specialty and my pasta dish was fresh and delicious. it was my birthday and the staff made me feel special. We will definitely be back."

"We had difficulties with our coach bus which broke down and we were late for our reservation;. I called ahead to let the staff know and they were gracious enough to hold our table for us and make sure we still made our theatre on time."

"I was expecting more from this place for some reason. When we first walked in, it was very charming and felt like we were in Italy. Our server seemed to not be able to hear us well, despite it being very quiet in the room and he appeared to have a hard time understanding english. It was a bit uncomfortable and there was absolutely no report between us. The tables are very close together, so you will hear your neighbor's conversation quite clearly. The food was just ok and lacked presentation. The "dessert tray" was very disappointing. I won't be going back."

"An Americanized version of the classic beefsteak Florentine-- an herbed butter sauce that would NEVER show up in Tuscany was poured over the steak before one could stop the zealous waiters. What were they thinking? Beefsteak Florentine is steak, olive oil, salt & pepper, and optional lemon, nothing else. The sauce distracted from a nice steak. The rest of the food was mixed: the pappardelle with rabbit was tender and nicely seasoned: the caesar salad and pimento-anchovy salad were under-seasoned and brutally cold from the refrigerator."

"Not only was their steak special amazing, their side dishes and appetizers were all cooked to perfection. Their attention to us as a table was excellent, without being suffocating. They could not have been more gracious to my guests who looked as though they did not belong. The birthday girl did not order dessert, yet they still brought out a tiramisu with a candle in it! This restaurant is a gem."

"The service was outstanding. I ordered a Bloody Mary, and the waiter came back to say that they were out of horseradish; did I want to change my drink order? But no, it's my favorite (OK, so I'm stuck in 1950) -- just maybe a little extra pepper and Tabasco. The drink came and it was fine, if not spectacular. About 10 minutes later the bartender appeared with a second drink, complete with the missing horseradish, and presented it to me. Apparently he had run to a neighboring establishment and gotten the missing ingredient. How often does that happen?

The food was wonderful, too, on a cold winter's evening."

"We went to Bistecca Fiorentina for a Tuesday night pre-theater dinner based on solid Zagat's reviews. We were surprised to find it almost empty, despite its excellent location near many theaters, although maybe it was a slow night. There was a very reasonably priced pre-theater prix fixe menu, and one in our party ordered off that and the others off the daily specials list. While the service was excellent (there were only 2 other groups in the dining room, so not much else to do, I suppose), we found the food only average to good. There was nothing particularly wrong with anything, it was just boring and expected. We were generally disappointed, since we can get boring food in the suburbs where we live, but don't expect it in NYC."

"We only had a weekend in New York to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and Fiorentinos made it very special. A table for two by the window as the snow fell created a romantic dinner setting. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. I just mentioned our anniversary and the staff brought cheesecake with a candle. A short walk to the theatre to see Phantom made for a perfect evening. We will definitely return to Fiorentino's on our next trip to New York!"

"Great pre-theater choice. If you wavering between steak and Italian, there is no better choice. My wife and I both had Tuscan seasoned steaks that were delicious Sides were simple but fresh and delicious.
The atmosphere is quaint and romantic. Perfectly lit, and although we were I'm a picked restaurant, we still felt as if we had our privacy.
On a notable night, service was the star though. The Maitre'd efficiently seated us and then kept watch the whole evening like a guard ensuring service. Mohammed, our waiter was on the spot, personable and very suggestive. His cast of teammates swooped down every time our glass was half empty or if we completed a course.
Wine list is concise but varietal and VERY reasonably priced."

"My companions and I all enjoyed our meals at Bistecca Fiorentina. Our table, reserved on Open Table, was waiting for us at the appointed time in an otherwise full restaurant and I was greeted by name at the door. A great place for pre-theater dinner with a special pre-dinner menu that was reasonably priced, (for NYC). I did not have their signature dish which was the Tuscan grilled porterhouse steak but the smell of the sizzling platters that were be delivered to adjacent tables was intoxicating. I would definitely go back and try the steak."

"Overall it was a great dining experience at Bistecca Fiorentina. Great location and within walking distance to many of the shows. Very charming Tuscan ambiance. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The wait staff was very attentive and we did not feel rushed. I had veal marsala which was excellent, and my husband had the filet which was OK (it came out undercooked and not as tender/flavorful as you'd expect from a filet). Cost seemed reasonable for a night out for two."

"excellent pre-theater restaurant. We had the porterhouse for two - excellent! Beware of same day open table reservations as there was a slight lag in it recording on the restaurant's system. The delay was minimal and the service was very good. The prix fixe menu also looked good. Reasonable italian wine list by the bottle."

"Delicious food, superb service, beautiful ambiance!!!! Really enjoyed the visit. Definitely one to try again! Not a place for children.....it is small and cozy, and I feel children at other tables would be a distraction."

"I had dinner with a relaxed atmospher and with comfortable service. Porterhouse steak was so delicious. Especially the special Tuscany sauce was impressive. They had a good wine list that includes Italian products. I thoroughly enjoyed Chianti of the light-bodied which worked of the acidity at a reasonable price. In addition I recommend creamed spinach for a side dish. That was tender-crisp spinach entwined in a light cream."
