"Mother's Day and we didn't want to pig out at brunch. Venice, normaly open for dinner only on Sunday, had delightful specials in addition to the regular menu. Quit and wonderful service. My wife left her camara in the valet parked car and they retrieved it for us."

"I have dined at Venice a half of dozen times in the past two years and it's food is always excellent. The wait staff is enthusiastic and yet reserved. They know when you need help and when to stand by and let you enjoy your food. The food is always a joy. Prepared to perfection and mouth watering. Daily special menus make coming back to the restaurant fun just to see what the chef is preparing today. Highly recommended!"

"My family and I decided to celebrate my birthday here to try something new. I couldn't be more happy with that choice. The manager helped us choose an great wine and even say down to celebrate with us for a couple minutes. The food was excellent. Since we wanted to be able to try as much as possible without being miserable, we ordered a couple appetizers, entrees, and desserts! Everything was fantastic especially the Chilean Sea Bass and the Lobster Ravioli.
I certainly plan to go back."

"We joined you for Mother's Day lunch. We were given lunch menus, which we ordered from. One of the mothers in our party chose a sandwich specifically for the homemade potato chips. When our food arrived at the table there were no chips, and she was given the wrong sandwich all together. We were told that dinner was being served all day and chips had not been made. Our friend was not given the option to order something else, which she would have done with all of the appropriate information. I don't think she will be returning to your establshment, and I don't blame her."

"We had a very late reservation so I expected it to be busy but to grab a good table. Instead our two top was small, off to the side and next to a column which felt in the way and blocked the view. The food was great as always but the ambiance and service left some to be desired. I recommend getting reservations early and requesting a window table if you're expecting a romantic evening."

"Had a reservation for 7:45pm. Arrived right on time and the host told us it might be a few minutes, and offered to have us take a seat in the bar while we waited. The service in the bar area was pretty bad. Disorganized, the server apologized and was nice, but it took a long time for just a drink or even a greeting. At 30 mins past we were amused. At 1:10 minutes, we finally asked for a manager. "Fil" apologized to us and said he would take care of us, get us a nice table, and "give us his card to ensure our next experience was great. I will check in with you before you leave." After another 15 mins, we got a seat. The food was good but he never returned, never gave us his card. He did however, find time to chat up 2 ladies in the place."

"We made reservations for 630 pm and were seated amongst SEVERAL tables of prom kids. Our table was also right at the entrance of the kitchen which created a less than romantic experience. Our server went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable which was appreciated.
Recommendation - on nights when you are expecting hundreds of prom kids, inform other patrons when they are making reservations so they can choose if they want to deal with the noise and other distractions."

"Until last night we had only dined on the patio, salads and small plates. Last night we dined inside and I am totally awed by this restaurant. This is one of the best dining experiences I've had ANYWHERE. The service was outstanding from the minute we were seated until we left 2 hours later. The food was prepared perfectly and was reasonably priced. Finally, the room was electric. There was so much energy among the tables and staff I could not believe it. And this was a Thursday night!"

"We heard great things about this restaurant and my husband had gone here in the past with good experiences, however last week was anything but a good experience. We had a reservation for the dining room, which was not ready when we arrived. We waited in the bar and had a drink, but it took 15 minutes before a server talked to us and there were long waits between drinks. It took a significant amount of time for the drinks to arrive. Eventually we were seated in the bar area (not the dining room) an hour later. The server took our appetizer order, but never came back to take our dinner order. She gave us a "complimentary" drink, but charged us for it anyway. The situation kept going from bad to worse. I will never go back to this place again."

"Our guests were impressed with the elegant presentation of the food, as well as the taste. They concurred that the restaurant ambiance is beautiful. The bottle of wine was outstanding! The tiramisu was off the charts wonderful! Our server and his team were wonderfully attentive, even though the restaurant was very busy. Mario, Paco and Phil are always such gracious hosts. "This restaurant was highly recommended by the hotel staff at The Oxford Hotel across the street so we have it a shot. We both left wondering how it could have received a glowing recommendation from such a reputable hotel.
The food was OK, nothing special about either of our dishes. I had a chicken dish and I'm guessing the chicken breast was of the frozen variety. It was overcooked, dry and tasteless and the only saving grace for the meal was the rice and veggies. She had a risotto which she liked but didn't think it was anything to write home about; sort of bland and unappealing.
Our server was OK, he was slow but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as they may have been understaffed that night (I don't know)."

"Venice was a quaint little place in the down town area. The food was amazing. The restaurant has definitely put forth the effort to be elegant but they are a small room. Being a small dining area, the noise level is amplified. If the bar is busy the noise spills over to the diners and it can get loud. The music was nice, the service was great. Overall, we would return but slightly on the high side price wise for the overall package."

"Had the Caesar salad and chicken covered with sauce and mozzarella with side of rice. Rice mixture was creative but had no flavor (maybe needed salt?). The chicken dish was the same on flavor. Bland food for high price. I have made tomato sauce with much more flavor. Canolis were delicious and the tiramisu was a hit with my friends."

"This is one of our new favorites. There with a group of nine for my sister's birthday dinner. Wasn't sure what to expect, but we couldn't have been more impressed or satisfied. Everyone is still raving today about how excellent the service and food were, and what a wonderful time we had. The view and location will be spectacular when Union Station construction is completed."

"Venice is my favorite place for a business lunch in downtown Denver. The food is fresh and delicious -- perfectly seasoned. All of my guests have been very pleased. The lunch menu offers a wide variety. Favorites for lunch include the salads. The salmon salad is exquisitely presented and delicious. The chicken gorgonzola salad is another of my favorites! The service is always top-notch! The setting is classy and comfortable."

"Venice never disappoints. My husban and I were very reluctant to dine during 5280 due to the large crowds but I am so glad that we took a chance on Venice. There 5280 menu was excellent, it is obvious that the chef took a lot of time preparing it. The service was excellent and even though it was very bust the service we were given never suffered. "We came to Venice after going to the other location in Cherry Knolls, which we love, btw. Our waiter was lovely (Dominic)and the restaurant itself was beautiful. It was different from their other location in scene, and I appreciated the upscale, downtown feel. Food started out good, although the amount of Parmesan used in their Caesar salad for that 'basket'was over the top, and their 'cucumber thing ring' could be better described in their menu. Why not just leave that part out and allow your diners to be surprised. Our dinners were ok, some tortellini w/ mortadella that was very rich, a basic pasta and ragu, and veal satimbocca. The veal was very tough and the dish came off very greasy. Overall it was ok."

However, the layout of the room is very crowded (it could have just been for Restaurant Week) and we were constantly being bumped into or having to move our chairs in for waiters to get by. "We had a fabulous time! Even though it was a little noisy we were still able to carry on a conversation. The waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. The food was axing especially the parpadelle with wild boar. We usually visit their other restaurant Chianti but this was a nice treat. We will definitely be coming back. It was a great date night."
