Flame, a Modern Mountain Steakhouse, is the signature restaurant of Four Seasons Resort Vail. Flame’s focus will be “fun dining,” rather than fine dining, as guests enjoy an interactive experience. Prepared by Chef Jason and his team you can enjoy perfectly seared prime steaks cooked on an 1800-degree grill carved tableside, like the 22 oz. dry-aged Tomahawk steak. And share communally served indulgent sides which are locally sourced and seasonally inspired.
"This was our first visit to Flame. The ambiance is excellent with warm and inviting seating, decor and lighting. Our waiter was very knowledable about the menu and wine list, and after listening to our various request, made an excllent recommendation of a sharing menu and wine paring. The menu is very well priced for the location and quality of the food. The wine list is a little thin, however, our waiter provided us with a number of options to match our price point and meal selection. We had a wonderful evening and our group celebrated our last night on the mountain in style."

"This was an anniversary meal. The steak was excellent and the service was very good. I could have done with the $19 martini as I don't like feeling ripped off via my bar tab. The restaurant was not very impressive looking and it was a pretty special occasion so I think we were hoping for something that looked and felt a little nicer. For the prices they charged I would have thought it was a palace!"

"What a fun dining experience. The menu was whimsical but steeped in classic dishes with a twist. I ordered a filet with the accompanying flight of sauces. Each sauce opened a new flavor profile on the steak. The lobster mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. The Iconoclast cab-sav was a winner. The maple and bacon doughnuts should not be missed. Our server was knowledgeable and guided us to the best choices. The meal was extremely pricey but delicious!"

"Entrée was okay - service was very good. Soup had been sitting for a while but tasted okay. Ambience is quite good. A lot of money for an okay time - would recommend something less expensive for better quality."

"I ordered the $38 dollar rack of lamb and I was unfortunately served two very tiny pieces of lamb that was covered in fat. The lamb had not been trimmed and, the presentation was less than satisfactory. Our waiter was fantastic and was quite apologetic for the meal as well as the manager who took care of the problem that evening. Another guest at our table ordered the trout and this to was not served to satisfaction. The trout was a little fishy and was quite dry. Overall the food at Flame was less than average and I would not return to this establishment for eating purposes. The restaurant is nice and the ambience is great but I go for the food not so much for the ambience."

"I just spent 5 days in Vail and Flame was my favorite dinner spot. Elegant room yet very casual at the same time. The food was top notch. We started with the elk "corn dogs" which were delicious and unusual. Then I had the buffalo ribeye which was cooked to perfection and the best buffalo steak that I have ever eaten. I ended the meal with a chocolate souffle to die for! I will go back for certain!"

"As Steak House’s go, is was ok not great….. Food was Ok, Service was Ok, but it was not what one would expect from a Four Season’s restaurant………. There are much better choices in the Valley to go to….."

"Nestled in the Four Seasons at Vail you would think the Flame would deliver a fabulous dinner, and they did not disappoint. The steaks cooked at 1800 degree F leaves the meat juicy, and flavorful without charing the outside. Their signature sauces add a unique flavoring to steak, and their Banana Foster desert is sublime. Highly recommended for an outstanding meal in an intimate setting."

"We went to Flame on our last night in Vail and what a nice way to end our vacation. The dining room is a pleasant space that feels cozy and not pretentious. Our server was very enthusiastic about the food and eager to tell us his favorites. Everything was good from the steaks to the dessert. While not inexpensive considering you are in Vail, we left feeling we had gotten good value for our money. We will definitely go back."

"The restaurant was nice, the service outstanding, and the food properly prepared (meaning temperature) but it just wasn't up to expectations for the Four Seasons signature restaurant. It was fine but nothing to write home about. Service was truly excellent though as we had a very knowledgeable and attentive waitress as well as the overall staff. There were six of us and all at the table seemed to agree that we aren't likely to be back anytime soon. It is a relatively new restaurant though and often new restaurants take time to find their "legs" so to speak."

"I met Chef Mike up on the Hill (Red Tail Camp) at Beaver Creek and the rest is history. This was my second visit to Flame this season. The Prime Rib was highly recommended and I was not disappointed. Wow; this is not your father's Prime Rib! It was the aging, the cut, and the preparation. Anyway, it was the best (and I am usually not a Prime Rib guy). You must try the Elk Corn Dogs as an appetizer!!! And, for dessert; the Bacon-Maple Donuts are required. I am just tipping the iceberg. So, if you want excellent service, great food, and nice ambiance after a Pow Pow Powder Day, look no further. Oh yeah, this place is located in the Four Seasons Vail. Validated Valet Parking is a nice touch."

"Server had a real attitude. Ignored us like we're peons; at those prices, we weren't peons. Chore to get salt and pepper, drinks, appetizers for party of four synchronized, and food served equally so it was hot and timely."

"Very noisy-loud music. Steaks were overpriced. Steaks were served warm, not hot. Our French/American waiter & the French wine we ordered were the highlights of the evening."

"This restaurant is pricey to be sure, but the food is excellent. There were five of us and we shared an order of bison pot stickers and taco trio for starters which were excellent. We all had the beef; filet and strip steak and the meat was cooked precisely to order. Our waiter advised us to avoid the rubs and stick with the sauces to compliment the meat. This was a great, because each of the sauces had a character of their own, and added so much to the experience. The meat comes with absolutely no sides, so the sides were ordered separately, and although they were good, they were not particularly generous. The dinner comes with a basket of buttery brioche rolls and pepper biscuits that were very good. Our service was OUTSTANDING."

"Second year coming to Flame since it was built. The food is outstanding. The wine list is thorough with some very good choices. Ana has always been our server and she is as attentive as it gets. We cancelled a reservation elsewhere to go to Flame an extra night during our six night stay."

"Nice restaurant in a very nice hotel. The food was interesting with a bit of a different twist. Heavy on the meat, but a nice selection of seafood. Portions very small, however. The only disappointing aspect was the service. Very slow to get our drinks to the table and the wine order was incorrect. The server then took my lime back to the kitchen and promised to bring it back but that took about ten minutes. She was rarely seen throughout our meal and although friendly and knowledgable, didn't make our meal very pleasurable."

"Steaks were overpriced and service was terrible. Twice they brought soup to the table without a spoon. The waiter discouraged us from ordering half the menu because he said it wasn't good. The waiter then brought our check before asking if we wanted dessert and we did want it. I don't think the quality if the experience was worth the price."

"The service was very good. The food was plain, the portions were tiny and the sides were extra. We ordered salmon, scallops and trout which were all boring. The meal was definitely not worth the price."

"Food and service was absolutely horrible. When we voiced our concerns to the wait staff and manager at several times during the evening our requests went unanswered. Low points 1) The waiter, manager, nor the chef knew what part of the cow their $80 tomahawk steak was from, 2) The wedge salad looked like it was out of a bag with canned bacon bits thrown on top, 3) We asked 3 times for the assorted sauces that the restaurant serves as garnish but never received them, 4) The two steaks that were supposed to be carved table-side were cut in the kitchen out of sight, 5) The waitress didn’t mention the chocolate soufflé dessert until the end of the meal and then said it would take 30min. Again, none of our issues/requests were addressed."
