"Jeff our server is knowledgeable, friendly and not overbearing. Foods, from appetizer to mains is well thought out and beautifully presented. The ambience is first class with a lovely view over the lake. All in all, this is a restaurant where you want to become a regular visitor."

"We had a wonderful meal at Newport Grill. The seafood was excellent. The portions were just the right size. The creme brûlée was delicious. The service was excellent. We were seated right by an air conditioning vent. When the air conditioning came on we asked if we could move to a warmer table. The manager said he would adjust the temperature. He came back and asked if that was better and we all agreed that it was. We opted to stay at our table to enjoy the view. The only drawback was the noise level, but that would not keep us from coming back again. We highly recommend this restaurant."

"Newport is a wonderful restaurant with probably the best seafood in Wichita. The fish entrees are numerous, fresh, most having been just flown and properly prepared. Most people who do not care for fish have never had them cooked to the right temperature and had the right sauces. The oysters are very, very good fresh from four different locations, usually two from the Pacific and two from the Atlantic. The Yoder pork chops are excellent as well. The views of the lake with the cascading waterfall on the Japanese styled island are attractive. The service is attentive, professional and friendly. The bar makes very creative cocktails including their Cosmo which my wife loves. Sunday brunches are very good too. As you can tell we love this place"

"Fantastic food and a great peaceful view. Our entire party tried different seafood dishes and we all loved what we received. Our server was very personable and they went out of their way to adjust/substitute menu items to suit our tastes. A little out of my budget for regular dining ($22-$38 per plate) but a very nice place for a special occassion. If you can, request a window seat with a beautiful view of the pond and waterfall."

"This was our first time at the Newport Grill. We had never heard of it and got a gift certificate from a friend. Our greeter at the front door could have been a little more friendly. Didn't act like he was real happy to see us. Our waiter was excellent and kept on apologizing for the slow service.He was very knowledgeable about the menu. For the price of things(too high, for 4 of us for dinner and drinks our bill was $264.00! Ridiculous!} I would think that service would be top notch. There was servers running all over the place! The taste of the food was excellent. Thought the menu could've had more things listed. Don't know that I will come back."

"Staff was very receptive upon entering. Enjoyable atmosphere with a nice view of the water out back. Antonio, our waiter, was very pleasant, courteous and helpful. Food was also of very good quality. it's hard to find good fresh seafood in the midwestr. However, the Mahi Mahi was cooked with good flavor and texture; very enjoyable. Asparagus was al dente to my liking... cooked, but crisp. The filet Mignon was also very good... nice and tender she said and better than many other places we've gone to. I would have to say this is comparable to many quality restaurants I've been to and is a diamond of Wichita and am glad I was referred by my kids. Being away from home 90% of the time, it made valentines day very special."

"My $40 USDA Prime 14 oz Strip Steak came to me burned. A real big disapointment after all the rave reviews I had heard. I had requested my steak be prepared medium well (some pink). While it was medium well in the inside, the outside had been seared to the point it was actually burned. I am sure it was easily visible to both the chef and the waitress but it was delivered to me anyway. Further, I was told it was a very lean cut of meat which in fact turned out be quite fatty. Also, it came with smoked "tater tots" which turned out to be just two, smaller than the size of a golf ball. My wife's mound of mashed potatoes made mine look pathetic. Very unprofessional. They surely won't get my repeat business nor any recommendation from me."

"Great fresh seafood in land locked Kansas in a upscale casual establishment. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The house made ricotta appetizer was really spectacular. Lobster tails were excellent as were the selection of sides. Very generous by the glass serving of wine...much better than most. Great wine list too."

"We had brunch here after a wonderful evening meal the night before. The buffet is fantastic! Just be aware you cannot order off the menu. The service was fantastic! The place was a bit quiet so they may have to advertise more to get people in for brunch. This is no Red Lobster type of place. Much more upscale!"

"We had dinner here with friends after a horrific crowd at the WSU arena. Wow, those people are rude! So, it was nice to have a wonderful meal with friends and the service was perfect! We liked it so well that we came back the next morning for their Sunday brunch."
