"I am afraid to tell you that we were disappointed with tonight's meal(mothers day). We have been raving about your place since our first time coming around valentines day & celebrate my husbands birthday. But tonight while my parents were in from out of town, 3 of the 4 of us were disappointed with our meals. My husband & dad both had the rack of ribs (full and half) & both of them said the we tough & dry & not juicy and tender like they have been in the past; we were all disappointed to hear that you were out of sweet potato fries & found that the home style fries were very soggy. My daughters flat bread pizza was also very rubbery. I definitely want to come back, but it might take more convincing to get my husband to come back again."

"We visited on a Friday night. The fish fry includes cod, haddock and walleye. They can be fried or baked. Each comes with 2 sides. They honored our request that we had to leave by a certain time. Service was friendly, prompt and efficient. The food was very good. The ambience was pleasing. I would recommend this restaurant to groups, families and for single dining."

"Tried the firecracker shrimp, stuffed mushrooms and steak bites- it was great. Shrimp bisque is great. 1st time having the prime rib and had great flavor. Also had the Life balance salmon and cooked perfect. You just can't go wrong at Buck and Honeys. Ken Wheaton was playing guitar and he was great."

"Picked Buck N Honey's because it's a favorite. Only negative was other guests! Two ladies chose to let their 5 children behave horribly!

"Food and service were outstanding. Went for Friday night fish fry and was not disappointed. I would definitely not recommended showing up without a reservation on the weekend as the place was packed. It was quite loud and crowded so I would not recommend it for an intimate dinner. I had the pan fried walleye and clam chowder, both were incredible. My dinner companion had the baked cod and french onion soup which were both great as well. I will be returning to try the rest of the menu."

"Sun Prairie is so lucky to finally have a restaurant like this. The food is always great and the menu changes several times a year, however the standard dishes that are a hit stay on. There are weekly specials nights like wine night, martini night and several nights have live entertainment. During the warm months the outdoor deck with music and fire pit is GREAT. The staff and owners are wonderful. They have also introduced a "Life Balance" menu for healthier options which I love. The holiday brunch for Easter and Mothers day is great. There is an omelet and eggs benedict station, ham, prime rib and then tons of other options- meatloaf, cheesy hashbrowns, chicken strips, stuffed chicken, mac and cheese, salmon, bacon wrapped shrimp"

"We went on a Friday night to try the recommended fish fry which was fair. The pieces of fish I had were a little mushy, and not solid and flaky. Their cheesy hash browns are a nice idea but were on the salty side and I tried the clam chowder which was sandy for a few bites but overall not bad. The restaurant was packed and very noisy, but clearly a hot spot for drinks as well as dinner. Overall, I would go back but am still looking for a favorite fish fry place. The service, however was outstanding."

"We had 7 pm reservations, but had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. Once seated, we were very pleased with our location and everything else! Our waiter was exceptional. He was very helpful when ordering, attended to our every needs for food, drinks and water, as well as being appropriately friendly. Upon arrival, the hostess appeared completely clueless that we had a reservation and then left us waiting for approximately ten minutes. We had arrived for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and there were many open booths that could have accommodated our group of five. Our waitress was also very slow especially with our check, however was pretty responsive to special requests with the sandwich I had ordered.
Overall, we would go back as our first experience was nothing but positive so they may have just had an "off day". Food was very good and both the food and drink menu are expansive with a nice variety."

"Our group of five enjoyed the dinner and drinks very much. We had a 7 PM reservation. When we arrived the place was packed; we were told it would be a few minutes. The hostess came over to us a short time later to let us know that a table should be opening soon. We waited a while longer and she again came to us and told us that she'd be getting us 2 appetizers of our choice for the wait. We appreciated the updates (and the appetizers)! We had no plans for after dinner, so we weren't in a hurry. Dinner was delicious, as always. Some of the party ordered drinks from the specialty menu and were quite impressed. I would highly recommend Buck and Honey's. Love the Scallop Pasta and Fish Tacos!!"

"Buck and Honey's is getting acclaim locally. I don't buy in completely. Busy as it gets...make a reservation if planning on a weekend.
Food was plated nicely but lacked the taste to match. We sat down and ordered two entrees and an appetizer. App came and entrees came a second later...we were eating 10 minutes after we ordered. I'm guessing for the crowd they had we should have been waiting a bit longer, they likely had premade much of what we ordered and just had to plate it.
Don't get caught up in the hype, it alright but won't blow your mind. Good for a Sun Prairie establishment. Comparable to any strip mall dining experience. Local vibe but gives a commercial experience all together, think a more upscale Applebee's."

"I had the prime rib which was OK. Wife had the pan seared talapia and bacon wrapped shrimp and she was very happy. the side dishes were great. I'd definitely go back, just not order the prime rib again. It wasn't bad, but a little under cooked for my taste and a little bland. The side sauces were a great accompaniment. It was a Sat. evening and the place was PACKED with standing room only around the bar. Make sure you have a reservation. Overall, it was very good and we'll be going back. I'd like to try the Fri. fish fry."

"We made a reservation a day ahead and got stuck in the bar area where there were people all over waiting for a table. It takes a lot for me to be uncomfortable and that night was definetly that. There was barely enough room for the staff to walk through. The food was ok but not worth what you pay for it. My wife and I planned a special night and it turned out very poorly. If we do go back it will not be on a weekend."

"this was our second time at this restaurant. We actually got reservations during restaurant week. They're always very helpful and the food is always excellent. Can't wait to go back. "Went there at the start of the local "Restaurant Week", where restaurants offer specials as introductions to highlight their establishments. Typically, they prepare a special item that showcases their talent. This offering was bland and uninspired. Not bad, but not good. The service was terrible. Took over 2 hours, at 2 (after lunch, brunch & before dinner) to get a chicken sandwich, and a half a prime rib sandwich and a cup of awful lobster bisque (by the way, don't add chicken stock to stretch a soup. blech). Had to ask twice for silverware, forgot the sauces for the sandwich (BOTH the horseradish and the au jus), had to re-ask for the coffee ordered at the start, then ask for cream and sugar and remind them 5 minutes later"

"The food was fantastic and the night we attended (Wednesday) has 20% off bottled wine! Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with a delightful ambiance complete with a one man band playing cover songs all evening. The music was fairly loud in the bar area but a much more pleasurable volume in the dining area. I would definitely eat here again."
