"My husband and I had to try this place out, it had been on our "to go" list since we saw it on the show Check Please. We took part in the restaurant week menu they offered and my husband had the tomato bisque soup, Meatloaf, and the peanut butter/banana bread pudding. The soup and pudding were delicious and we would recommend both. However, the meatloaf was blan. We both agreed it needed some salt, which they do not put on the tables. I ordered a salad, the buttermilk chicken, and mint chocolate cake. The chicken was wonderful and sat on top of this very yummy corn/bean mix. It was decisious. I ate every last bite and was stuffed! The chocolate cake was good, but I loved the peanut butter bread pudding! !"

"Six of us went for dinner during restaurant week. Tasty three course meal for decent price of $30. The Original Chopped Salad, Amaro Meatloaf and Flourless Chocolate Cake were my choices. All very tasty. In terms of drinks, there was wide variety of wines to choose from. I had the Allegrini Corte Giara pinot grigio and the Lolo Albarino, which were both refreshing and not too sweet.

"After getting a recommendation nod from a foodie friend of mine. I made reservations through OpenTable because I wasn't sure how busy Citizens would be on a Saturday night. Our seats were ready and the ambiance was perfect for a romantic date. Wait staff were helpful and quick to answer questions when asked. We were fortunate it was Scottsdale Food Week and ordered off a special menu. Original Chopped salad my date loved! and I had the field greens which was decent, beyond that they next course of Pan Seared Scallops was spectacular and coming from a New England bred man who lived next to the scallop dredgers that is saying something! Dessert was flour-less mint cake (very good) and Banana bread pudding (ok). Highly Recommend Citizens!!"

"CPH appears to try to be all things to all people, and mostly succeeds. the bar is the centerpiece and the place has a reasonably upscale bar vibe. But the dinner tables are set more as a fine dining place and the menu is interesting and creative. My wife's scallops were perfectly done - which is tricky and not all places succeed. I had the meatloaf, which was fine and beautifully presented, but not as interesting tasting as I thought it would be. All in all very much worth trying and not a tourist trap in an otherwise touristy area."

"The food here was the best I have had recently. All four of us enjoyed our meal and we all had something different. The chef really knows how to blend flavors. We started with salads and had fish, chicken, scallops and meatloaf as our entrees. We all felt like we would come back again. Only the desert was a little disappointing, but just a little."

"Everyone in our group loved this place. It is a fun, lively crowd so you feel like you are at a party. The server was attentive without being too familiar, gave good recommendations and promptly took care of anything we asked for. It was difficult to choose from the all the wonderful things on the menu. Started with bacon popcorn while we tried to decide. There is good reason that the chopped salad has it's own facebook page. The scallops are fabulous. We will definitely eat here again."

"Second time was as good as the first. I had the Short Rib. Very tender and tasty. My husband had the Steel Trout, perfectly cooked with good flavor. I was impressed with the timely delivery of every item. The entrée was delivered right after the appetizers. The desserts were served right after the dinner. If I didn't know better, I would've thought we were being rushed. I would've liked a minute in between to relax. Sometimes good service can be too good."

"Do yourself a favor and go during "snack hour" (their happy hour) and try the ROSEMARY ROASTED NUTS, BACON FAT HEIRLOOM POPCORN and HUMMUS & TZATZIKI, all are heavenly. Truly, I don't like nuts and I love their nuts!!!!I'm also a fan of their chopped salad, kale caesar and chicken & waffles. I've been here about five or six times and I cannot believe I've never had an entree, but the snacks, starters and desserts are so good, I haven't needed to. Really enjoy this place."

good restaurants and dont pay more than $60-$70. There are too many good restaurants
around the Valley without having to fight our way through traffic into downtown Scottsdale.

"We decided to venture down to Old Scottsdale and wanted something contemporary and modern - we found it. I appreciated the Gluten Free options (labelled on the menu for quick review) and the suggestions made by our server. I had the steelhead, which was light with a sweetpea risotto - something I could have eaten twice over. I was sufficiently saffoncified but couldn't resist eating every last bite. My company enjoyed the heartiest meatloaf known to man. No filler and almost the density of a steak - it was fabulous. The grits gave it the southern kiss we were hoping for."

"Great place to eat, the food was amazing a well diverse set that has a wide range. Try the duck it is radiant with an immense amount of flavors. You can really tell the chief knows what they are doing. The location is dated the building is 45 years old and needs some updating. But your not there for the view. The waiters are good mine was ok, but like I said your there for the food. Try it you will be impressed."

"Service was some of the best we have experienced. Gary was great. Chop salad outstanding. Buratta just OK.. We all had different entries and most of us really enjoyed them all. Steelhead and Duck very good, chicken and short rib OK, Turkey burger very good, but too much bread for the bun. (When are all the restaurants in the world going to figure out how to cut down on the size of the bun and concentrate on the burger meat). Not enough moderate (under $40) wines on the list for good selection."

"We started with the pork belly - really different and delicious. Nicely sized too - not too huge. We then had the short ribs with whipped parsnips. The sauce on the short ribs was smokey, tart and a little bit sweet - really well cooked. My husband is still talking about the meatloaf he had - it was beautiful with a swirled sauce and very rich. Our waiter was very fun, gave us great advice and was really on top of things."
