Marisol at the Cliffs Resort
"Marisol" translates to "The Sun and the Sea" and no where is this more evident than through the flavors of the food. The menu at "Marisol" has been developed as New American Cuisine. "While the restaurant itself was very beautiful and the wait staff were very cordial, I was left wanting more after the brunch buffet. It seemed like an odd combination of foods with not nearly enough variety to justify the price we paid. There was no sort of direction in the room, which left me wandering around trying to figure out what to get. However, the desserts were lovely. If the menu were to be slightly updated, I would not hesitate to visit again."

"It would be nice to be given both the outdoor and indoor menus when dining inside. I should have asked for one. Saw lots of yummy things go by and out the door. Not a lot of regular food. But, I must say though, the deep fried brussels sprouts were DELICIOUS. Would like to have entrees that actually come with something, say potatoes, rice, etc. Bread was good."

"We can count on consistently good meals at Marisol. As I wrote in a previous review, the chef, Gregg Wingard (sp?) has been there for a long time as chefs go and he seems to have a good team with him. The waiters are professional and David, maitre d', is the most friendly, helpful man possible. He is their secret weapon!

"We were greeted by the manager who indicated he would be checking with us during our meal, which he did. We did not wait for anything. Food was hot and the braised short ribs were falling apart, no need for a knife. Nice wine list. Live band as dinner music. Michael, our waiter, was very attentive and personable. The manager shooked our hands and thanked us for dining. Will definitely return. During the day the outside dining was packed, the view was stunning."

I had the duck and it was well prepared but the sole was so-so, and the filet was nothing special either. We saw several parties of four come in, sit down, and then leave. "We had a group of 9 for brunch at Marisol and were treated very well. From the host to the servers and to the manager, David Kline, who came out to greet us and ensure that everything was o.k., we loved it there! Marisol has definitely become a hot-spot because of their great service and creative ambiance and happy hour offerings! The food was delicious and although we arrive just 30 minutes before brunch ended, we had ample food to choose from and Mr. Kline went out of his way to ensure that we had enough to pick from! It was my son's birthday and the Marison staff sure helped our group make him feel special!"

"Dined at Mirasol several times in the past month and each time the meal and experience was notable. Service is friendly and attentive and David, the Maitre d', is devoted to ensuring the back of the house and front of the house operate in harmony. But the food, well, that's why we come, isn't it? Farmer's market fresh ingredients with innovative and seasonal preparations, all beautifully presented. The duck breast is amazing - the duck would be so proud! And what fun to "discover" a new herb, garnish or flavor, only to find the chef has added his fillip, giving a standard ingredient a contemporary twist.
Two other personal faves are the black kale salad and the chocolate stout cake."
