"We had been to your restaurant many times in the past. The food just wasn't up to your usual. The house salad was nicely presented but tasteless. The Raclette was good and our Grandson's steak was very good. Steak tartar wasn't that good. Sorry. I think the cheese fondue was also good."

"We went to the Swiss Chalet for our first night in Vail, we were all tired and did not really want to order our dinner, we ask our waitress to bring us what she thought was good. She brought out the Beef tenderloin/ oil fondue and a bread/cheese fondue and they were both outstanding, a great recommendation. The Sommelier was very knowledgeable and brought us a really good bottle of wine at a modest price. We had a great time and the staff treated us very well."

"Love the cheese fondue. We had reservation at 7:15 and not seated until 8. We were one of the last tables. To leave.i hate eating late . We didn't get our appetizer to almost 8:30 and dinner much later."

"Great place for an authentic Swiss/Austrian style fondue experience. The service was attentive and the raclette and fondue ingredients delicious -- particularly the beef. The appetizers were surprisingly substantial. The wine list was pricey for domestic wines but seemed more reasonable for European wines. Charming ambience. We will definitely return."

"A fun night for the family! We started with the cheese fondue as an appetizer. It was fantastic. Then we move on to the schnitzel and gingerbread encrusted lamb. Both were really good. Only down side is we had no room for desert. Highly reccomended for families and groups for a festive night out."

"We specifically choose this restaurant for the fondue experience. It did not disappoint. The cheese fondue for starters, followed by the beef broth fondue with dipping sauces and completing the experience with the hazel nut chocolate fondue. All were excellent! Sharing one entree is plenty if you're having an appetizer and you want to save room for dessert. The service was outstanding. After trying to seat us by the kitchen hallway initially, we ended up at a table next to the bar area and there was a very loud group seated next to us. Request to be seated in the main dining area where it appeared to have more ambiance. Would recommend it if you've never been there but not sure that the cost is worth it to return again."

"Nice atmosphere if you're looking for a German/Austrian dining experience. They have fondues/raclettes which, can make it a fun experience. You're not limited to fondues only since they do have nice selection of items that won't require your "cooking" them. Noise/activity levels are higher because of this so those looking for a quiet/romantic experience may not enjoy it. It is one of our favorite restaurants whenever we're in Vail."

"My wife and I shared a Raclette Fondue and a Chinoise (a healthy alternative to the Bourguignone). Both were fantastic! I haven't had such a good fondue since my last visit here 15 years ago! Great to see the Swiss Chalet has been able to maintain a consistent high quality through all those years.
Save a little room for dessert. They are all fantastic!"

"Located in the Sonenalp in Vail Village, the Swiss Chalet is an institution of Vail. I had taken may children there several years ago, and had a great and fun meal. This time I was there with my wife and a friend. We had a fantastic time enjoying cheese fondue, a raclette, and chocoloate fondue for desert. The waitress, a German native, knew their extensive wine list well and recommended a Swiss wine that went perfect with our meal. This is a great spot to take a family or group of friends, or you can sit by candelight with your significant other. The quality of food and service were up to Vail expectations."
