"Wonderful meats! The Lamb and Elk were delicious. The only complaint is the onion loaf — it truly is just a loaf-shaped hunk of friend onions. Not bad, but not worth the price or the stomach space — save the room for something exceptional! Great service, too."

"We both thought that Vanessie is looking tired. Admittedly an out of season Wed eve, but not much energy in the place. The menu and wine list are not terribly inspiring nor have been refreshed recently. The wines seem expensive for what they are. The value equation is missing."

"Excellent food and service. The Piano Bar and entertainment was providing ambiance for the dining room. It was not intrusive, it was great fun to be entertained while enjoying a great meal. Try the onion loaf!"

"Our online reservation request was for a table in the lounge for the music that night but when we got there we were told that it wasn't possible. The manager said he would get us a table as soon as one freed up. He then, moments later, gave tables to people who had just showed up. When we asked why, he stated that they had "each given him $20 to get a table!" When we did finally get a table the service was terrible. I had to go to the manager to ask for service. When a waiter showed up he said "You've got me for a minute so what do you want?" We ordered and the food took 30 minutes to come and was sub par. The main restaurant may be very nice, I don't know but every time I've gone to the lounge the service has been bad."

"The waiter was unattentive and forgot simple request. The manager was warm, inviting and had to perform certain tasks the waiter should have. The ambiance and live music was great."

"Vanessie is an eclectic, fun place with three dining areas. We dined there twice recently and enjoyed it both times. We tried the sea bass, scallops, and lamb entrees, and all were delicious. Not only are the food and service very good, but there is live music nightly to add to the ambiance."

"we had a great dinner here two weeks ago. Caesar salad was great, food choices good. We had not dined here for a couple of years. Tonight three of us could not even eat the Caesar, it was filled with vinegar. They comped the salads, but that's not the point. My husband had steak, and he barely ate it, it was not good. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, since we were celebrating a birthday, but the service was slow, and it was not crowded, and the food made us not want to go back. There are so many choices of restaurants in Santa Fe, that it will be another three years before we try this one again."

"Food was decent, but nothing special or worth writing home about. Service was fair to poor. Waiter was far mor interested in serving the table of his friends than attending to his other tables. We generally like Vanessie's and have been often, but this was not one of their better showings. Both the food and service suffered on this particular occasion. Bar was fun and lively, restuarant was fair to poor."

"We depended on the menu on your website to get Ahi Tuna. We were informed by the waiter they hadn't had it for over a year. The food we ended up with was good, not great and overpriced. $46 for a 12 oz steak??? The only saving grace was our waiter who couldn't have been better in a trying situation."

"Have been to Vanessie many times and once again the food was outstanding! Sea Bass was cooked to perfection and my husband said the Roast Chicken was the best he ever had in a restaurant, moist and tender. Of course the service was impeccable. Our server knew his wine and recommended an excellent wine which we had never had before. The dining room is perfect for a quiet dinner and the bar is perfect for their entertainment. Vanessie can stand up to any restaurant on Canyon Road and The Plaza and you don't have the tourist."
