"We have been coming to Maui for 22 years. We try to eat at a variety of restaurants. We are always trying new restaurants.
The view is spectacular. It is only out done by the food. The scallops on lobster risotto was excellent. My husband thought it was the best scallop dish he has ever had. He should know,he only eats scallops when we dine out. The mahi-mahi dish was worth the trip to the restaurant. It is the best on the island. We will be heading up the hill to Gannon's again before we head home."

"We were a group of four that decided to forgo Mama's Fish house and try Gannon's. The view was amazing and the food was very memorable. We started with muscles, ceasar salad and oyster pupus followed by ono in a buttery wine sauce, paella, and mahi enrusted with cashews in a green curry sauce. All of it was fabulous. There was one damper on what could have been a perfect evening meal. there were several group parties taking place below and adjacent to our table which made for a noisier experience than we would have liked. The service and food were so exceptional that this would not deter us from coming again."

"Originally planned on Haliimaile General Store, but decided against it after considering the ambience and acoustics (better acoustics/ambience - amazing view and sunset). Started with the Crab Fonduta and raw bar Sushi/Sashimi Sampler. Fonduta is always a must. Sampler plate was just "meh". Dinner entrees selected: Scallops (nice sear, risotto cooked perfectly), King Salmon (hearts of palm a nice touch, Mr. asked for a side of Forbidden Rice, which he first became a fan of at Haliimaile), and the Fennel Crusted Ahi (no exaggeration-absolutely the best seared (rare) ahi that I've had ANYWHERE. The fennel is a tasty change from the typical sesame crust that is offered everywhere else. Love the sea salt in the butter served with the bread."

"There is a a slogan that says "Go, there's nothing stopping you!" which applies here. The food is top notch and the menu is varied. We had breakfast here one day without reservations and were wowed by the breathtaking views from our table. The food was wonderful. Hubby had steak and eggs and I had banana macadamia nut pancakes. Both were outstanding. We returned for dinner later in week, with reservations, and had almost the same table. Sun was already setting which provided yet another gorgeous scenic view while we dined. I had the seared diver scallops with risotto, while hubby had lobster and steak. Both were divine. Also had the crab tower appetizer and butterscotch pudding dessert. Don't miss this!"

"Chef Bev Gannon was the "it" girl a couple years back when she took over the Seawatch and seemed to kick that space up a bit. My husband and I chose Gannon's for my bd celebration primarily because we had a gift card, and we liked this venue for happy hour. It was a good experience overall, but left me somewhat disappointed in the food. Its very easy to exceed a hundred dollar gift card, and we did by about 50 bucks, with one drink each, salad and entree.. It is Maui, however, and it was a special view, but some things bugged me...like some tables had tablecloths out on the patio, ours didn't and I was expecting more innovative, edgy food choices....I didn't think there is any real reason to go back..just ok"

"The view is amazing and we did have a front row table to the sea. Unfortunately, I chose an entree that was not up to the standard I have become accustomed to at Bev Ganon's resstaurant. See below. The rice should be fluffy not a pot of glue and if it had more ingredients such as some peas it would have been palatible."

"Went for dinner and the food and outside dining was excellent. However the service was extremely slow. 30 minutes from the time we sat down until we got our beverages. Then another 30-40 minutes between first course and entree. I think they are short staffed both in service and kitchen. Went for lunch the next day and the food came out faster. Just be prepared to wait if you go and not have starving kids."

"Even though we got a breezy evening which required sweaters at the outdoor table, the view was still drop dead beautiful. Garden near at hand, ocean in the distance with Molokini nearby and Kaholwae in the distance. One thing the cloudy evening gave us was a long twilight, which is unusual for over there.
We did drinks, appetizers, salads, and deserts, and were stuffed. Even took some of the salad home. Cocktails were an excellent recipie, gin and lavendar. They had excellent Washington State oysters. I hate getting East Coast seafood in Hawaii. Salads were tasty and good sized. Dessert menu was a little uninspired.

"My experience at Gannon's was good. The food was recognizable and prepared well, nothing too far out of the ordinary. The ambiance was nice and the outdoor seating towards the sunset was a nice touch. "We had dinner at Gannon's last year and loved it. And our experience was equally positive this time. The food was outstanding, the ambience delightfully quiet and beautiful, the service was great and overall we were very happy. We had a group of six people and the servers were attentive to everyone's needs. The mahi dish was outstanding as well as the scallops. This is one of our top go-to restaurant for us when visiting Maui and it will remain on that list!"

"Perhaps our best dining experience in Maui; we thought Mama's Fishhouse was amazing, but this was equally so! Often in a restaurant of this caliber, while the best tables are available, we are led to one no so desirable. Gannon's was smart enough to lead us to the best table available outside and it was a SPECTACULAR view at sunset, with whales breaching in the distance. We were not hurried at all, allowing us to drinking in the atmosphere as well as the outstanding food and drink. Tables were spaced nicely so it wasn't crowded as we often find elsewhere. Wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive and food filling and excellent -- larger portions than many upscale restaurants. We'll definitely be back!"

"We eat here Sunday brunch here 4-5 times a year and were really disappointed this last visit. The food was cold when served, the plates unadorned and the portions greatly reduced. We are not big eaters but when brunch is going to be our only meal until dinner we want to feel like we ate. While the brunch is not the most expensive on the island it is not cheap. We expect better from Bev Gannon."
