"called the restaurant beforehand to ask what type of champagne they were serving. Got a response of sonoma piper, which i knew she meant piper sonoma. However after being seated realized it was not quite in the same category of sparkling wine, which our waiter didn't even know what it was. He definitely could use some training in what was being served altogether. The brunch ended up being ok since we had a lovely view and the weather was beautiful. Although we spent a lot more money after we ordered sparkling wine from the wine list. The menu had a few highlights, Lamb chop, scallops, prime rib and chicken milanese were all very good. I just wish they would have given me the right information in the first place."

"I had the oysters, burrata salad, and the snapper for dinner. The oysters were on a very worn out plate, all bunched together with very poor presentation. The burrata was excellent with it's presentation and flavor. The balsamic was very good quality. The snapper was warm not hot and it was very dry. The flavor was like a cod, not a tasty fresh flaky fish. Not sure what kind of snapper but I will not have it again. My husband a the filet and it was good but the sauce is a bit much."

"The Blue Moon location is great. Right on the canal, boats can dock by the restaurant. The view is very relaxing and the atmosphere great. The food is superb but the prices are on the high side. However, for lunch there is a 2x1 promotion that makes the bill more palatable.

"We dined here for a birthday celebration. I asked for a great view of the intercoastal and they provided a wonderful table on the dock. The food was delicious! The shrimp were gigantic and the Key Lime pie was to die for. The best I have had in Florida! I would recommend this as a wonderful place to dine for any occasion."

"This was my first time to Blue Moon Fish Co and I could not have been more impressed. We sat outside. It was packed and lively but not so loud that you could not talk to your dinner guests. We started off with the calamari. For my entree, I had the grouper. My mom and dad had the mahi mahi. All of us enjoyed our meals. If you're staying at or near Lauderdale by the Sea and you enjoy great seafood, you have to try Blue Moon Fish Co."

"I made reservations for us for my friends birthday and was able to request seating by the water. Our server was very attentive and knew all about the food. The food was incredible. EXTREMELY WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!! My recommendation is to order the New Orleans Fire Cracker Oysters. I loved everything but i felt the Shellfish Panroast was a little sweet. When i read the ingredients i thought it would have a little bit more of a spice kick, but it was great just the same.The presentation of the food was INCREDIBLE and that is very important me.The ambiance and decor is perfect ouside and inside was beautiful and captivating as well.The service is amazing,pleasant,and friendly,and i am so glad we finally got to come to BLUE MOON. cozy & qaint"

"Party of 8 for lunch. Excellent attentive service without being overbearing. Half of our party was 15 minutes late and the staff did not seem aggravated by it. Other half arrived 15 minutes early but were seated right away. Very nice view on the deck, Great diverse menu, something for everyone. I had the mahi sandwich and thought it was bland, though two others had the mahi entree and loved it. Only mild gripe was the cake service - we opted to pay the extra $3 fee per plate to have the cake sliced and served with whipped cream and berries - it was nice presentation but $3 for one small raspberry, 1 small strawberry and a sprinkling of chocolate shavings seems excessive. Overall, a solid experience and would do it again."

"Probably the best yellowtail I have ever had. Food was excellent. It is very much an outdoor seafood restaurant. Which to me means while you sit along the water if humid outside it is a little uncomfortable. They do have tables inside but the doors are kept open along the back so the humidity exists. Again, excellent food but by no means should one expect a fine dining experience."

"Upon our arrival we were greeted promptly and happily at the front desk, and although we were a bit early for our reservation, we were seated immediately. Our server, Justin, was very friendly and took note of the subtle hint that it was my husbands birthday by bringing our dessert out with a "Happy Birthday" message written on the plate. The food was excellent and offered a generous portion of food. We will definitely be repeat-customers!"

"Our hostess (name?) and waiter (Gerry) were both outstanding. Food was perfectly cooked and you can't beat the outdoor dining. Seafood was fresh and the menu is not too large like many restaurants."

"This used to be one of our favorites until we moved out of the area. So when I asked my wife where she wanted to go for a "special" birthday she thought of Blue Moon. They had our requested table by the water (enclosed) and all set up with the flowers I had delivered. We brought along three couples who had never been there and everyone loved their meals. They also allowed you to bring one bottle of wine for a reasonable $20 corkage fee. The only complaint I would have is our waiter was not as outgoing as I would have liked. He was not bad but just had trouble smiling and getting into the happy occasion taking place at our table. I always feel this is partly a result of the automatic tip added on for larger parties."

"Reservations confirmed for 8pm. We arrived on time. No greeting, just told by the older gentleman they were 20 minutes late. Told we could " wait over there". Never been before...so where ??? Didn't express sorry for wait or anything. Very crowded and noisy with lots of running around everywhere. After 35 minutes we inched back to front where we saw people arrive, get hugs and get seated. No wait for them. When we were finally seated the waiter was perfunctory and fast. The fish items for which they are "known" we're all loaded with so many ingredients it would be hard to taste the seafood! We left without ordering...and no one noticed!!! Ambience evokes the least appealing aspects of the Jersey shore, with apologies to the Jersey shore!"

"We had a party of 4 dine at your establishment on Thursday, April 18. 2 people in our party each ordered 2 large stone crab claws. There was a choice of large and jumbo I briefly heard after they had ordered. I'm pretty sure they ordered the large, but am not positive. I ordered the shellfish panroast (delicious) and my father ordered the lump crab & corn grouper (also delicious). We also had the new orleans firecracker oysters and pan roasted diver sea scallops (both very tasty and cooked perfectly). My only complaint was that our server never mentioned the actual size of the stone crabs, which were quite small, but made to sound pretty large. I ended up giving my boyfriend almost all of my scallops from my dish so he would be full."

"I love fish and I would like to see some lighter dishes at this restaurant. Their fish dishes can be heavy with filling which takes away from fish and crab flavor in my opinion. Ambiance is great. Sat close to water but not on the outer deck where there are tables for 2 that are right on the water."

"Sunday Brunch at Blue Moon was 'over the moon' great! It is well worth the price. Starting with a 'food tour' with our server and ending with a special plate of birthday desserts brought to the table for our friend, the brunch was outstanding. Service was continuous, prompt and friendly. We never had to wait or wonder if our plates would be refilled or removed or if we'd get water or another mimosa. The decadent food selection was of the highest quality - from meats to sushi to desserts and everything in between - delicious. We have been to brunch at Blue Moon before and look forward to going back."

"Brunch buffet was fantastic. I highly recommend but don't want everyone crowding up the spot. From seafood to the chocolate fountain, there was something for everyone. Every bite was perfect and endless mimosas topped it off. I could have stayed all day, outside under shade and watching the boats."
