"Great dinner date night. I was able to make a last minute reservation with no problem. The hostess greeted us with a smile and by name. The server was very knowledgeable and helped us with our sushi selection he also recommended a wine to go with our dinner, which we of course had to try."

"waiter to explain it. We finally got a hold of a waitress that took the time to explain the differences about the sushi and your dishes. But before the waiter incident I had reservations for 6 and when we arrived the host never asked if we wanted to sit on the steakhouse or sushi bar side. We were seated at sushi bar side and not very nice way to assume that's where I wanted to sit with family on MOTHER'S DAY. :( Definitely will not be returning since its not about what your patrons want its about what suits your staff. I was also not too pleased to see that gratuity was added to my bill for a waiter that didn nothing besides serve us drinks and the waitress that did help us and served us our food wasn't the name of the server on our check."

"We've been to Amura in the past, but we haven't been there for over a year. It looks like they renovated the main dining area. It looks really nice inside. But I have to say that the sushi this time around was not the best. The appetizers were excellent. The sushi was ok, a little too sweet for some reason, and one roll wasn't done very well and fell apart instantly. We figured it wasn't that busy, they should have time to make the sushi without rushing. Well, we ordered 7 rolls and only half were good enough. One roll that was tempura eel wasn't even tempura, it was very odd. Overall, not worth it when there are better sushi restaurants in Orlando."

"The sushi included some unique and tasty items as well as the standard varieties. Miso soup and ginger salad seemed pretty standard. The gyoza were good. A neighboring table had some sort of hot rock thing that filled the place with smoke at one point. Ventilation could be better. If more than one table had ordered that dish the environment would have been to smoky to remain inside."

"I go there every time I'm in Orlando (twice last week). Excellent Sushi and other Japanese delicacies, a lot of choice in food and drinks (large selection of Sake), outstanding service. I'm a fan of Sushi and this place easily compares with any other Japanese restaurant I've been to.
The only slight negative comment I can think of is that the setting is not too typical Japanese and it is one big open space, so not really suited for a romantic evening. But actually it gives them flexibility to organize the tables efficiently for groups of all sizes, so depending on what you're looking for it is actually an advantage."

"Food was really wonderful but the service was horrid. We received dishes out of order, we never received the Saki we ordered, we were given a slew of excuses by our very inexperienced server all night long. Kitchen has it together but the front of the house does not. I hope this was just a midnight or a Bradstreet because we have enjoyed dinner here before but this place is off my list for a while. Too many other choices."

"I've been going to Amura in Dr. Phillips for years and generally it's been a very good experience. Recently I took my wife on her birthday as she really enjoys the experience of a Japanese steakhouse and Amura's quality of food is quite good. While the food didn't disappoint, the service and the environment are sorely lacking.
They've also lessened the amount of food they serve at the grill which, in my opinion, really takes away from the experience. You have certain expectations at these kinds of restaurants and this time Amura just didn't deliver. Our server was careless, absent, and knew almost nothing about anything we asked her about regarding the menu and the specials for the day. I'd pick another Japanese steakhouse next time"
