Roaring Fork is an American Western Bistro. What is American Western Cuisine? It is a combination of using foods that are indigenous to the American West, locally grown ingredients, and capturing the 'spirit' of the west. The restaurant offers a comfortable, laid back environment that includes friendly professional service and good food. A great deal of attention is paid to all the ingredients in creating the recipes and always using foods that are found in the American West, including locally grown produce. Western cuisine is not a ceremony; it's a celebration! The robust flavors and the courage to try something different is what we are all about. We would like to invite everyone to experience our 'spirit' while enjoying our food and hospitality.

"The restaurant is configured so every table is adjacent to the main aisle. As a result there's a constant flow of patrons and staff right next to you. Ask for. Ask to be seated in the bar or as far in he back as possible."

"No getting around it, it is a financial investment of sorts in a delicious dinner with a $43 steak a la carte each for 4 diners. Once in a while an occasion warrants such a night. The food is delicious, guaranteed! The "in" place is fun to enjoy and hear the synergy of enthusiastic diners. In the past we have eaten in the bar which is a lot more casual in atmosphere and easier on the wallet."

"We went to celebrate a birthday and to try the AZ Restaurant Week menu. The choices on the special menu offered a nice variety of foods. There were 3 of us and we each had something different. Everything was delicious. I had the striped bass which was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. The pork porterhouse was a substantial piece of meat, nice and tender. The steak was flavorful and tender...it would have been nice to have had a bit more. Desserts were top notch. We will definitely return."

"We love going to Roaring Fork for special occasions because the food is delicious and the wait staff is always attentive. My family took me there for the Mother's Day Brunch. Everything was so delicious.
We loved the twist on the Eggs Benedict. One had a sausage patty and was on a sweet corn cake. I could eat that everyday. My son really liked the version with the filet mignon. The carving table meats were moist and flavorful. It's not too often that a cut of meat is good without any sauce or condiment.
The cold table with salads and dessert had a great variety. I love the spin that RF adds to everything. Fresh fruit platter with blue cheese crumbles....WOW! Banana's Foster Bread pudding was very good too.

"There's nothing better than the smell and taste of food cooked over a wood fire! Wonderful dining experience, at an affordable price. Service and ambiance were excellent, very nice patio dining area. Loved the green chili mac and cheese, and the braised beef short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes. Opt for the filet mignon $32, over the ribeye which was $10 more. They serve a generous size filet which melts in your mouth, the ribeye had a lot of gristle. For the dessert we had the fried banana split which was different, very tasty, and can be shared by more than two people. We'll definitely be back!"

"This is a favorite go-to for my husband and I for our date nights. Have not had a bad experience to date, food is always hot and delicious. We aren't wine drinkers can't rate that department but the cocktails are different like the prickly pear mojito, delicious! Wait staff is attentive but not overbearing."

"All the food, services, and atmosphere is exceptional! People in our party had the wood fired steak, chicken, and seafood which added a special taste to each food that enhanced its flavor. It was not a smoky taste but more like an herb added to the food but it was really from the wood. You have to try it!"

"I made a reservation 6 weeks in advance for a special occasion. I noted it was a special dinner and requested a nice table. All requests ignored and I received one of the worst tiny booths right across from the waiters kitchen pick up. I expressed my unhappiness and they could care less. Offered me a worse table in the back. Then the manager was doing his nightly rounds and was such a fake. He made no mention and obviously was clueless of his guests. Why bother?
The food was overpriced but good. The waiter was excellent (Steven).

"I love the warm, comforting atmosphere of this restaurant. It has an upscale feel without the typical upscale snobbery.
The green chili pork appetizer, the short ribs entree and the green chili mac n cheese were absolutely delicious! It has been two days since my meal and I can't stop thinking about them.
My pre-meal huckleberry lemon drop martini was a perfect start to my unforgetable experience at the Roaring Fork."

"This was our first time visiting the Roaring Fork in Scottsdale. At first I was disappointed that we had a bigger table that seated four instead a small intimate 2 person table. After we starting ordering our food and drinks, I was a little grateful for the bigger table. After ordering the organic agave margarita (delish!), a beer for my boyfriend, and the fondue appetizer; he proposed! And I said Yes! Our server, Amy, asked how things were and we told her we just got engaged! She brought us out complimentary champagne and was very distant for a while. I was surprised on how she was "there" but not bugging us to order dinner. We chatted for at least 30 minutes before even ordering our dinner. Everything tasted great and we will be back!"

"Horrible service. We were visiting from our of town and made reservations at Roaring Fork based on the great reviews and menu. The food did match our expectations but the horrible service put a damper on our evening. For the price tag, I was expecting impeccable service but many things went wrong. My grandmothers water was rarely refilled because she was sitting on the inside of the booth. Additionally, her fondue (which she ordered as an entree) did not have the candle lit and her cheese was already hardening by the time it arrived to our table. I ordered a cocktail before my entree arrived and after reminding our waiter TWICE, it finally arrived AFTER we had all finished eating. Unfortunately, I would not attend Roaring Fork again."

"We came for an early dinner for our anniversary; our son & daughter in law come often and recommended it. Since it was during Happy Hour, the noise from that area was kind of noisy...we most likely will return after that 7 PM hour, so it wouldn't be as noisy. We loved the ambiance...the food was wonderful and the service outstanding! Also, the friendliness of our waiter and the manager was overly gracious. We will definitely come back! Thank you"

"We had reservations for the patio, and we received a call the patio was now sold out for a group and we would have to eat inside This was a big disappointment but they did find us a nice table inside. What really won us over was the fine waitress we had. I am terrible with names and wish I could remember her's. She was the key to our fine review."

"Much like any other steakhouse. The service was good but a little slow and server forgot my wine with dinner. The steak was good but the cheese ake was dry and did not seem fresh. Since this was the only Resturant I was able to try in phoenix I would probably not return so as to try others."

"It was good. 4 of us went at 5:30 planning on enjoying happy hour. No tables available, so had to eat in the dining room, but they don't have happy hour there. We had to order off the regular menu. The carnitas were great, the pork tenderloin was also good... their signature mac "n chese not so good. We ordered one for the table, we each took a bite and left the rest.
There are so many fabulous restaurants in Scottsdale, the meal has to be wonderful for us to return."

"Food was really good. My husband had the filet steak and I had Duck. However, restaurant was very busy and we had a long wait for our drinks order to be taken and to arrive. Also had quite a wait before they took food order. Only had an entree course and 3 sides with 2 drinks for me & one for my husband. With tip bill came to $130 - which isn't cheap when I dIdn't think service was wonderful."
