Cafe Escadrille
Just 15 minutes north of Boston, Cafe Escadrille is a landmark restaurant known for its great food, drink and service - offering three unique dining experiences. The Cafe offers classic and new American dishes in a lively, casual atmosphere. The Cafe menu is also available on our Outdoor Patio during the warmer months. The Famous Mahogany Bar is one of the few places in the greater Boston area serving food until midnight. And lastly, our elegant and intimate Gourmet Room offers classic continental cuisine with a touch of French savoir faire including dishes prepared or flamed right at your table! Our extensive wine list offers more than 300 labels. Private and Semi-Private dining available for groups.

"We are always impressed with the entire venue. We were married there in 2004, and come back time and time again. Will likely come on our tenth anniversary. Mario is FANTASTIC. Waitstaff are always pleasant and knowledgeable. We never have a complaint, and enjoy the easy pace of the dinner and attention to detail.

"Very seldom does a restaurant shine on holidays so I was not expecting a great deal. Having been a restaurant manager for years, I understand the difficulties. Cafe Escadrille did well for late on a very busy day. While my dinner was fine (however not very filling for the price), my companions were not impressed with theirs. The server never brought requested water, never questioned why two diners did not eat 1/10 of their meal, and never brought our table any of the flowers that were being given to Moms. Having said all of the above, the overall ambiance is enough so that I hope to come back again and try it on a normal day."

"I have been at the Cafe Escadrille quite a few times and always loved it.
That is the reason why we chose the restaurant for Mother's Day. That being
said, unfortunately, we were not impressed with the meal. The preset menu
they had was very expensive and I wasn't very happy with the choices. I will
go back, but not for a holiday. I don't like preset menus and rather pick on

"We went for the Jeff Bauman benefit. I haven't been in a number of years, and the fact that the Cafe still serves up delicious food, wonderful ambience, and terrific service delighted me! From the moment we entered, the staff took care of every need without being overbearing at all. Our table awaited us at the time promised regardless of the full house. The menu held a wide variety of choices, from healthy to hearty. Presentation gave only a hint as to how delicious the food was. Serving sizes were perfect. Our server, Ashley, attended to every detail of our meal with excellent suggestions, menu knowledge, timeliness, and graciousness. Well done, Cafe Escadrille!"

"I was disappointed with the scallops and tuna. The food was very salty, and had way too much sauce which drowned out the food. WE also had the fried calamari which was also flavorless. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you're 65 or older - this restaurant seems to be a hot spot for the elderly."

"What happened to the Cafe Escadrille.I was thrilled when I found out they are now taking reservations.So 4 of us went on Sat. night,knowing there would be no wait.That is what was great about the night.The food was awful. The waiter recommended the most expensive dishes on the menu.I really wanted Salmon, so I ordered it,it was one of the specials.The waiter came back twice to make sure we understood there were no substitutions on the special,it came with jasmine rice and asparagus. Well actually white rice and 4 scrawny asparagus.Except for the 3 pieces of pineapple in the salsa, there was absolutely no flavor in this dish.It tasted like it had been boiled.The swordfish was the same."

"We went to dinner for her birthday on the evening before we left for Florida. It was a quiet Saturday evening, and the restaurant was about 70% full, often a moniker for a good meal.
Cafe Escadrille had atmosphere, a fine wine list, reasonably attentive service but the food let us down. Both our meals were bland, our veal chewy and the fish flavorless. This is the third time I've been there this year, and the third meal that was disappointing, especially give the price."

"Arrived at the most visible entrance, only to wander around what was the function side of the building. Thee was no signage inside the function area or its lobby or at the door to tell you where to go to find the regular dining room, and we had to ask the valet. Upon entering the regular dining room, noticed a smell of a moldy mop. Our party of 5 was seated right away, and waitress was prompt and attentive, but also interrupted our conversation to ask questions. Food was mediocre but portions large. Accommodated a large party well."

"Our family, 5 adults, celebrated a big birthday there. Everything was outstanding - atmosphere, food, waitstaff. The lunch menu was quite varied and had a price range to suit most people's wallet. The waiter was friendly and charming. When he asked it if was a special occasion and identified the celebrant, he brought her dessert with a candle on it. "There were four of us at dinner to celebrate a special event. We enjoyed cocktails and wine - the cosmopolitans with a lime wedge were perfect. Salad was just the right size and we were allowed to substitute sliced tomatoes for one diner. Every entree was cooked and served perfectly. I had the baked stuffed shrimp and cauliflower - and enjoyed every morsel. The other diners enjoyed swordfish, salmon and lemon chicken marsala florentine. Not a bite remained on anyone's plate. Dessert was just as wonderful as the main entree. The chocolate cake and lemon meringue pie were huge and delicious; the mini desserts were scrumptious. The waitstaff was very attentive. We were unhurried - spending more than 2.5 hours celebrating our event."

"Our dinner at Cafe Escadrille was, far and away, one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. Our server, Lynn, was wonderful. She was patient and knowledgeable. Our Caesar salad and one entree were prepared tableside and Lynn did a fantastic job. The sommelier, Stefan, had wonderful wine suggestions and even prepared our dessert tableside as well! "After we asked for another waitress everything was perfect! Our first server rushed us and made a few sarcastic comments to someone in our party. Five minutes after being seated we quietly asked for another server and then everything was lovely. Our meals were served in a timely fashion with adequate portions. Everyone enjoyed their meal. "I hadn't been there in years and wanted to try it again. There were four of us and each dish was fair to good: the scallops were not great according to one, and my shrimp scampi was nothing special. Apparently the veal was very good. Our wait person was dull, not helpful, and at times almost rude. Working pre-Easter may do that. I'll probably wait a couple of years to go back again. And the menu didn't seem that extensive."

"The food was excellent as I have been to this restaurant for MMBA functions, but never to dine by myself. The wine list was outstanding! I highly recommend this restaurant as it's as good as going into Boston and it has free parking!"

"The food, drinks, and service were all outstanding. Four of us each ate different things, and we all four cleared our plates. We were seated in a room that I think is often used for private functions, and there were only a few other people seated there, so it was a very quiet, intimate environment. I think the bar area was a little noisier, but it was perfect for us."
