Koco, located in the fabulous El San Juan Hotel & Casino in Isla Verde, is the newest, hottest OOF! Restaurant, and the design showpiece of the company. Koco features Chef Hector Crespo’s interpretation of Modern Caribbean dishes, using fresh island ingredients, artistic presentations, and traditional techniques to create a new vibrant, soulful cuisine.
Koco features an extensive Rum Bar and the chicest lounge in town, serving a hip modern take on some classic Caribbean cocktails, and the largest selection of rums on the island.
Koco was designed to transport you to a sexy, tropical chic, outdoor pavilion. Follow the water shimmering on the walls to candlelit dining spaces on the waterside decks, the glowing imperial table under the draped island pergola, or in one of the intimate round booths, and imagine you are dining under the Caribbean night sky.
"Based on reviews, we ordered 3 recommended appetizers and a salad. Coconut shrimp & Scallops were bothe very sweet. Fish tacos were spicy but tasted more of bacon than fish. Salad was good but nothing special. There were only 3 other small partie in the restaurant. We would not go back because there are a number of less expensive local restaurants nearby such as Don Jose's, Mia Casita, Platos..."

"We were sent here by our concierge. Maybe the main chef was away, because the food was not good at all. However our server was very nice & attentive. I'd try somewhere else."

"This is by far one of the worst restaurant experiences I've in a long time. The food was OK; nothing to crave about. You can find better taste in other restaurants in the area. The service was the slowest. Our waiter (Rico) forgot about us the entire time. We ordered drinks and instead of bringing all of them at once he took the time to bring on at a time. After two an a half hours in the restaurant we wanted to leave but nobody showed up with the bill. We had to ask another waiter to bring it so we could continue with our night. Needless to say, I don't recommend it."

"We were staying at El San Juan, was a bit concerned about poor reviews. They were wrong the night WE went! Service was impeccable, food was very good! Prices are reasonable, don't hesitate to go! Grouper with mofongo was excellent, Maui with risotto also great!"

"It's inside a casino so there is not really much light coming in from the shrouded windows. Looks like a posh place to have a nice dinner before going out on the town. It's pretty large and can accommodate big groups, but also intimate enough for couples. Food was good and felt fancy. Service was solid and no complaints."

"The food at Koco was excellent but our poor service impacted our overall experience. My meal was not as hot as I would have liked, but I ate it anyway since our waitress was nowhere to be found. Our drinks were not refilled & we had to stop the food runner several times to get what we needed. As we looked around the restaurant, we saw very attentive service being provided by other waitstaff, so I don't think service is an issue for the restaurant as a whole- we were just unlucky. I made the hostess aware of our complaints when we left. It was unfortunate because had the service been better, it might have been my favorite restaurant meal."

"Me, my wife and two friends ate at Koco two nights ago and we would recommend it to others. The portions are small but the quality is there. We ordered a salad, fried calamari (one of the best I've had), scallops, and the coconut shrimp (also very good). The waiter was very friendly. We ordered the crab cake and 10 minutes later the cook came out and said they are out of it but that he would bring over chicken dumplings. We were a little taken back that he didn't say it differently since we were looking forward to eating seafood. We told him we didn't want that and the waiter apologized after we told him about the cooks comments. All in all we enjoyed our meal and would recommend it if you stay at the El San Juan."
