Mustard Seed Bistro
At Mustard Seed Bistro we are dedicated to giving our customer the best possible dining experience. Owners Tim and Lara Boyd have successfully given the feeling of being a guest in their home and being served as such. Owner Tim Boyd has been chef for over 22 years and exemplifies it in all his dishes. His culinary team is passionate about food and happy to please the pickiest eater. Our wine bar is full of wines from all over the world that Chef Tim has personally handpicked. He tends to select a more boutique style of wine and often has the winemaker join us for a five course wine pairing. We serve a light breakfast, and gourmet lunch consisting of the freshest ingredients all made to order. We are now serving dinner six nights. The white linens and candlelight come out at night along with the finest food you’ll find anywhere including our list of dinner specials and wine promotions. "If you live in Plantation you are very lucky. The Mustard Seed is amazing. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful. If you don't live in Plantation, don't let the location fool you, it's a neighborhood restaurant that could be in a major city and would still be very popular. It is the best!!!!!"

"My girlfriend from the area recommended this restaurant. I don't live in the area so was open to her suggestions. The food ended up being amazing and we had the sweetest couple next to us celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. They said they chose to have the dinner experience in which the restaurant brings out lots of different samples. It looked fabulous from our table. THe staff is extrememly professional and our food came out very quickly."

"We had the rack of lamb and the halibut specials. Both were good but not worth the price. I was a little surprised that the specials were basically the MOST expensive dishes on the menu, but then I didn't ask and I'm not really a fine dining expert. The potatoes were good but the greens were a little overcooked. The dessert menu is very nice and all the desserts we've ever had from the Bistro are excellent. The appetizer (crab cakes) were very good as well. MS Bistro has very good table service."

"This is one of the only real dining choices in this area unless you want fast food or a chain. Tucked into a strip mall, it has always been busy when we have been there. Most of our choices have been good. This time we had the short ribs and the mini lamb chops. The description of the chops is a bit misleading as it describes minted cucumber noodles where actually it is a vegetable slaw. Not a noodle in site. Nonetheless it was a Gary and moderately sized dish at $17. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and a hearty almost too filling choice, though very good. They have failed on almost every dessert we have had here. This time it was the creme brûlée which was liquid runny. Really awful. The custard had not set. We will come again."

"Owner & Fantastic Chef "Tim" is wonderful. Enjoy the creative preparations which are simply delightful and reasonably priced. The grilled vegetable plate appetizer is devine; as are their lamb chops. And the pistachio crusted salmon is a must, as are reservations on a weekend."

"Outstanding meal in all regards. The brussels sprouts were the best I've ever had.... The lamb shanks were so tender and the desserts were yummy. The entire meal was terrific and in a strip mall no less!!
The only thing that could be improved was the timing of the dinner. We were the first ones seated and diners that arrived well after us were served their entree's before we had ours. Very Very Slow service but the food was delicious enough to overlook the pace!"

"Wonderful food overall. Lamb was a bit dry but tasty as we're the mashed potatoes that accompanied it. The stew was amazing although the shells and grit at the bottom of the bowl did take away a bit from the dish. Brussel sprouts were extremely tasty surprisingly. The shrimp ceviche was delicious although more like a salad than a true ceviche. Dessert was truly fabulous - cupcake and cobbler I believe it was. Only down side was the cost of the wine bottles. Way overpriced. Will definitely return and would order everything again except the perhaps the lamb."

"Tried to go during the lunch hour and it was packed (line was to the door.) Opted to come back and use OpenTable for dinner reservations. So glad we did! Pleasantly surprised that menu items were more upscale compared to other bistros. Our party ordered the crispy duck, short ribs and the seafood special - all cooked to perfection. Appetizers and desserts met our expectations. Definitely will be going back to try the breakfast and lunch menus (as well as dinner!)"

"Every time we eat there we come out satisfied of the food and the experience. Our meals came out perfect and the service was outstanding. The onion soup is the best one I have had, since most places overdo it on the salt. Same with the escargot, which were yummy! We all ordered a variety of main courses and they were all presented well and tasted even better. Unfortunately we couldn't taste the cupcakes, next time!"

"Although I'd heard about this place from friends and they talked it up...The experience was good but it could have been better. After all it was valentine's day and I guess we had a limited menu of which 2 items had sold out: the beef wellington and creme brulee. The alternates were good. I had a chicken dish that was rather tasty but my girlfriend ordered the lamb and it was over cooked so she sent it back after which the cous cous had no pistachio butter and it took a while to get more. The alternate dessert was delicious though an apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. and the wine we chose was great."

"Originally booked a table here because it came up on a search for al fresco dining close to the BBT center where we were going for a hockey game. They had a few tables out on the sidewalk, but they were not in use, so that was a disappointment. That being said, it is a very nice restaurant, cute inside, and comfortable. We were there very early, @5:45pm,& we were not alone. Service was professional and attentive, our dinners were very good. I had a steak special, which was very tasty if a little overcooked. "Bland strip mall exterior, surprisingly upscale interior, excellent food and service! A definite return destination in an otherwise boring culinary environment. Well populated midweek, a definite reservation must on weekends."
