Parker Square's new-looks-old exterior could be a set for the parade scene in The Music Man. But Sonoma Grill is reality dining. Atmosphere is a pleasing reproduction of West Coast casual chic. A high ceiling and tall windows in the dining room simulate the airy feel of a wine country mercantile space turned restaurant. Subdued yellow walls get color blasts from a bright orange, red, blue and green landscape and graphic floral paintings by Richard Nunez. Sonoma Grill has enough character to fit in the old-neighborhood atmosphere along Dallas' McKinney Avenue or Forest Park Boulevard in Fort Worth. Quality of food and wine list would make it a standout wherever. The name represents more than ambience. Half the wine list comes from Sonoma Valley in California; the rest is from other regions, domestic and international."
