"My wife and I are regulars to this restaurant, and for good reason! The food was fantastic as usual, possibly a little too much orange in the rillete for my tastes, but that is a personal thing!
The service was friendly and prompt in all the right ways. The host was friendly, approachable and gracious as always. The greatest thing about this place is the unbelievable value that it offers! Three courses, with 3 glasses of wine for 2 people was $145 (with tip)! For the quality of food that the Marc routinely pumps out, this is unbeatable value.
I will continue to come back again and again, couldn't be happier with a restaurant!"

"This was our first time at the Marc and overall we had a very good experience. Here is a brief summary of our experience
-Hostess was incredibly nice and sat us at a great table
-Cocktails were excellent.
-Menu is fantastic. Great price points for the quality of food and selection served.
-The rack of lamb special was excellent. Well cooked with amazing flavours
-Arctic char - the char was cooked perfectly, but the "spicy" saffron sauce was way too salty and I'm not sure where the spice was.
-Dessert was excellent - we had the lemon tart. Very simple, but great flavour and nice serving size (i.e. not too big!)
-waitress was awkward and paid more attention to other diners that I'm sure she felt would be bigger tippers"

"The food was average (chicken a bit dry, tartare lacked visual appeal) but the dessert was amazing and service was great. Fries and aioli were average but prime rib was good - even if a bit under done for medium well. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The venue is a bit sterile and I felt I should be eating out of a cubicle. Prices reflected quality and it wasn't overpriced. And again - the salted caramel chocolate cake was to die for!"

"We received a warm welcome when arriving and we did not have to wait for our table. The food was fantastic and was good value. The service was friendly, prompt & helpful. The atmosphere is vibrant and the décor is warm while still being trendy. There was six of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. They did have a vegetarian entrée but they were very accommodating and made up a nice dish."

"The Marc never disappoints. The food is incredible with the menu offering a variety of unusual and changing dishes. The Bison was done to perfection and the signature beignets (donuts) with dipping sauce are a must have. Patrick and Doris make you feel like they're welcoming you to their home for an evening of fun and great food."

"Some friends were in from France and we wanted them to experience a taste of home so where better to bring them then to the Marc. Always a hit with whatever is on the menu. Packed for a Wednesday night which is great for a little downtown restuarant. I had the Arctic Char and it melted in my mouth. And then of course that Lemon Tart tops off an evening of taste bud heaven with a lttle zest."

"We went with a larger group (8) and the experience started with a phone call on the day double checking the reservation. This was great a reminder and when asked about parking, the person on the phone told us about the gem of parking right in front the restaurant since our reservation was after 6PM. The food was very good, the presentation was wonderful, but the one thing that stood out was our server, she was AWESOME, the service we received would be one of the main reasons for going back."

"service was horrid. our waiter couldn't care less about us. we told him we were vegetarians and he totally dismissed it and said he needed to rattle off the specials (all meat). he never came to see how anything was and we always felt rushed and uneasy around him because he was so evidently not into it! luckily we were with such great friends that we had a good time despite the lousy serviceeverwe had called earlier in the day to talk to someone about the menu. never got a call back and when we arrived at the restaurant the gentleman did acknowledge that we had called but that he had been too busy to get back to us. he did not inquiry what we wanted when we were at the restaurant either. it was very poor customer relations for su"

"Everything was absolutely delicious. What we really loved was that the menu was very reasonably priced; the value for such a terrific meal was incredible. All of our dishes were amazing. My one very minor complaint was that I asked for a wine to be recommended for my dish and the waiter didn't have very much knowledge, but it's a minor complaint, the food was so delicious."

"After my first visit to The Marc, I was impressed. The food was of a high quality, the presentation was nicely done. The speed of the kitchen was noticeable. The service was enjoyable and helpful. The price was surprising for the quality of everything.
The second time I went there, I was sold. I am fortunate to spend a lot of time enjoying the new spots in Edmonton, and the Marc is going to become a regular reservation.

"We recently visited The Marc to celebrate my mother in law's 60th birthday. It was all of our first visits andeverybody left full and happy. The food was amazing. Our server was great. Absolutely zero complaints whatsoever! Totally recommend. Have the steak frites!!!! I was sad that I was unable to have any dessert (as someone had cupcakes at home) but they all looked and sounded fabulous."

"There are some restaurants where you walk in and know you have made a good choice---and The Marc is one of those. We were struck by the enticing smells from this bistro's kitchen when we arrived, and were greeted warmly by the owner. A good start, and we weren't disappointed!
Excellent food and service. Our waitress knew her wines and the menu and was friendly and efficient to boot. Vibrant yet cozy atmosphere. Had the steak tartar, charcuterie, and duck breasts, all perfectly prepared. Wines moderately priced and a nice selection. Lush deserts. The Domaine Chique was a great French blend that paired well with our food. A new favorite---and we will return!"

For a romantic dinner, I would however recommend a potential diner know of table placement in order to book one on the perimeter by the windows. Preferably the southeast corner.
Service was impeccable in attentiveness, knowledge and personality. Our server was "platinum" in her worth. From observation, so we're the others. A very welcome change in dinning for Edmonton along with the lower ambient noise."

"The restaurant is a touch noisy but I can't argue with the food and service. We were greeted at the door by the owner, who was friendly and welcoming. After an excellent meal, we were escorted out by the owner, a nice touch.
Rather than trying to crowd the menu with a hundred choices, The Marc kept it nice and focused. I cobbled three apps together as my meal and they were all terrific--in particular, best fries in Edmonton."

"Had lunch with a friend. My first time. I had mushrooms on ciabatta with a salad. It was amazing. Great flavour. It was busy and noisy, service was above par but despite being able to hear everyone's various conversations in detail, which made me very reluctant to discuss work or personal things with my companion for fear the people left and right of us could hear every word as we could hear there's - tables feel WSY too close for my comfort, it was still worth it, I just powered through lunch faster. I'll be more picky and try to request a table rather than being stuck in the middle. ."

"The food was truly excellent. I had the duck, cooked medium (more like medium rare in my estimation but the good chefs always differ from me in this regard) and I was a bit unsure that it was cooked enough for my taste. I was encouraged to try it by our server with the assurance that it could be done a bit more if wanted. I did try it and finished it as it was. Truly melt in your mouth delicious. By far the best duck I have ever had. All other dishes we had at our table were excellent, with our vote going to the scallops appetizer at the best of a great bunch."
