Di Pescara is named for an Italian fishing village on the Adriatic coast known for its fresh fish and seafood. Our signature dishes include Shrimp Di Pescara, Grouper Brioni, and Chicken Cavetelli. "There were so many wrong things going on in this restaurant. I felt like I was in a TV show and I was the Mystery Diner. Our waiter was not very good. His bad service and lack of menu knowledge was really sad. If you asked the waiter a question he would either run into the kitchen to find the answer or say something that was so out of left field that the owners of this restaurant would cringe. The environment made it hard to even enjoy the experience. We ordered two hot apps and one was delivered hot and the other one was room temperature. Both hit the table at the same time. The sushi was bland and tasteless. Worse sushi ever. The list goes on and on. Not a great experience for us."

"Food and service were consistent and very good. Calamari appetizer is done very nicely. Wine list has a few more choices than most from the non-run of the mill selections - a big plus. Service very good and attentive. Noise level and layout makes for a nice casual atmosphere - alive and vibrant so you can have a conversation and not be overheard while still maintaining the ability to speak in a normal voice."

"Lots of choices on the menu and we loved the seafood -- great whitefish and lobster salad. Waitress was very nice but it seemed like she forgot about us at one point. We had to flag her down to put in the order and again to get our check. I think though that she was just really busy because it was the height of the lunch hour. I couldn't finish my salad and she packed it up so I could take it. While I was at Neiman Marcus, I noticed the bag was leaking (drat, all over my slacks!) so I had to bring it back to have it re-packaged.
They have a lobster special on now --- I'll be back for that!"

"There were no little forks available to maneuver the lobster meat from the legs.. I know there was more meat to be had but there was no way to extricate the rest of the good stuff. Other than that, the lobster meat I had was delicious.
In fact we will be at di pescara on Tuesday night june 3, to celebrate grandaughters 20th birthday and younger grandaughters grade school graduation.

"We have always enjoyed this wonderful restaurant located in the Northbrook Court shopping mall. The food was delicious -- and our server Joanne was very attentive. We appreciated the fact that we were seated at a reserved booth as requested and our reservation was honored at the time of our arrival. We especially liked that the four of us were not rushed out of the restaurant when we finished eating and were able to enjoy the evening leisurely talking to good friends."

"We had a lettuce entertain you gift card and wanted to try someplace new. I ordered the lobster boil, and was given the lobster and shellfish boil. I didn't say anything as I like shellfish too. The shrimp and lobster were overdone and tough, and they were in so much sauce that you could not taste the seafood. The sangria was just ok. My husband had halibut, which was $29 and his whole meal was only about the size of his fist. Our waiter was very attentive but I don't think he heard my order right because it was so loud. Service was good but we likely will not being going back because there was nothing special about the food"

"I went on a Friday night with some friends. We had the escargot and mussels for appetizer, and then we tried the veal parmigiana the chicken milanese and I had the halibut. With a bottle of wine. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake. From start to finish it was great, the food, atmosphere and our waitress was outstanding!!! Definitely going back!!!!!!"

I had the most tender, flavorable, delicious, OUTSTANDING Miso Sea Bass I have EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!

"There are certain items I look forward to eating at Di Pescara, like the chop salad with green goddess dressing, spicy scallops, and peppermint ice cream with hot fudge. I usually get the fish or scallops but sometimes lobster. I have been enjoying some newer restaurants in Highland Park and Highwood and now it's hard to go back to a chain. My martini hary had liquor In it and our server never asked if I wanted another. She was not attentive, the table felt crowded and small for four people, and I think it's just a stand by for good food when you cannot get in elsewhere."

"Food was mediocre. Guest had veggie sushi and it was very uninspired. My Shrimp Di Pescara was not as good as I remembered, but the real let down was the service. Our server seemed irritated when we ordered two appetizers, a Green Goddess salad and no drinks. He was not back to check on us until I waived him down for the bill. I paid in cash and he brought back change that required me to leave a $5 tip which was ~ 20+% or ask him to make change. I was tempted to leave the $2 (10%)."

"Friends in town from Europe (Denmark) really enjoyed the fresh fish options on the menu (halibut and sea bass). The orders of asparagas (group sharing) arrived about 2 min before the everyone had fished their meal, so a mixup with the kitchen or with the service staff made that the only frustrating aspect of the evening."

"Excellent dinner out from start to finish. Honored my request for a banquet seating, server was attentive and helpfu. Food delish! Started sharing the asparagus wedge salad which was tasty and an ample portion to share. Dinner entrees included the spicy tilapia and braised short ribs which were surprisingly and pleasantly lean but still very tasty. Let us entertain you spots just never disappoint!"

"Arrived 5 min. before res. and were seated 12 min. later. Kind of. Went to back and stood around for another couple of minutes as our table wasn't ready yet.
When seated, our order was taken promptly. I ordered fish and chips (with shrimp) and my wife order the halibut special and asparagus as side. And crab cakes for the appetizer. The limoncello mojito was interesting. Took about 20 minutes for the appetizer to arrive, and it was good, but not great. Not a lot of interaction with staff. After 45 minutes, our waiter came by to indicate they were out of halibut. A little late for that. After an hour or so food arrived. We took it to go home. They were apologetic, but not a good experience. In their defence a table of 17 seated at same ti"

"Front of the house was very unorganized. We were being seated and other guests were being seated at the same time, same table. We had to go back and wait. We were not the only ones having issues. Once seated, the food was great, our server was great but the place was LOUD! I mean so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. If you want a relaxing evening out, this is not the place. However, the food was excellent! I would go here with friends looking for good food and great conversation."
