Saha offers Arabic Fusion cuisine which is a blend of traditional Middle Eastern dishes and California cuisine with an Arabic influence. The menu is extensive with a large selection of small plates, entrees and a three course prix fixe option. Chef Mohamed Aboghanem is the only one in San Francisco who gives equal rights to vegans and omnivores by creating a menu with many options for any diet. An ever-changing and select list of wine and beer compliment the savory, sweet, and spicy flavors in our food. Please come join us for a culinary adventure!

"hostess was super friendly! Parking across the street. No valet,validate your parking.ceiling and walls were painted very badly. I took a few photos and the background wasn't nice, they had a register and a messy shelf full of ketchup bottles and misc items. So in the photos, it looks like a real funky hole-in-the-wall kind of spot. And supposed to be somewhere romantic for Mothers Day! The food was yummy! I had a salmon salad and my hubby had a Mediterranean burger. We had mimosas and Rose Champagne. Both delicious! This place is very casual, not fancy. Our servers were 2 ladies whom were nice but one kept over explaining everything and seemed confused about the menu since she mentioned it was their first time to host a mothers day brunch."

"There is a wide range of dish ingredients. We were a group of 5 and choose a variety of types of food. With the help of the waiter they all mixed well. It is a wonderful place to go where you leave contented but not uncomfortable. The wine paired very well with the food."

"I chose this restaurant for a vegetarian friend's birthday. We were not disappointed in any aspect. The restaurant is surprisingly spacious and exceptionally quiet. The music is kept to a low level so that one can have a quiet romantic conversation, while the lighting is bright enough to be comfortable to see. The waiters were very friendly and smiling and able to answer all of our questions. We ordered the prix fixe dinner and everything we selected was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented. We indulged in the vegan knafee for dessert, and I was especially surprised at how good it was using vegan cream cheese and vegan phyllo. I will be back and bringing other friends for special occasions."

"Arabic-fusion - spices test all of your taste senses - wonderfully aromatic and presentation impeccable. Only drawback is there are only a couple of meat entrees for the "non-vegetarian". The duck entree is to die for!"

"The Yemeni-influenced dishes at Saha are an adventure of flavors! We ordered several of the small plates to share. Some were more exciting than others, but we were not disappointed by any. The prices are very reasonable. Saha occupies a small space and with a full restaurant the energy level was high. We have definitely added Saha to our short list of San Francisco restaurants."

"Very flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, unique combinations of ingredients and flavors - a memorable dining experience. Can't go wrong with any of the lamb dishes, especially the spicing of the lahem sougar. I've had a few rather uninteresting small plates, but honestly don't remember which ones. Interesting wine list - this past week we had an Italian barbera-pinot noir blend that was reasonably priced by the glass and bottle and paired well with the lamb. Every time I've been the chef stops by the table to check in, and the service is usually very friendly and attentive. Strongly recommended!"

"Best meal we've had in a long time. The menu was so creative and every thing we had was so fresh tasting and delicious, especially for those that like vegan and vegetarian meals with GF options. We are going to have to go back and try everything. It all looked amazing. The food prep seems to take a while or else they were busy but they brought out an extra appetizer to make up for our wait. I think we were the only ones with that issue though because it seemed like other people were served faster. We didn't mind though since we like taking hours to eat and we had a many course meal that night.
The only reason I rated ambiance as good and not great was that the restaurant is small which some people may like or not."

"Saha is a little gem in the hotel carlton. It is a middle eastern restaurant that has a good menu to meat eaters and non-meat eaters. They do have prix fixe menu which you can chose what you want for $35 for one person. Not bad and the desserts are awesome. Hostess seated us early even though we were early. Good for groups but definitely had a god place for romantic dinner that isn't too romantic and quiet for some couples."

"In spite of the enthusiastic reviews in some quarters, our party of three found the experience disappointing on a number of counts. First, it took a considerable amount of time before anybody arrived at the check-in desk. Then we waited a considerable amount of time before a waiter approached our table--I think there were simply not enough wait-people on duty. The chicken bastilla was disappointing, and my entrée came with parsnip potatoes that weren't even warm. Last but not least, there were two or three small plates Saha was out of, as well as at least one of the desserts. If this is typical, it's hard to imagine how the restaurant can keep a steady clientele or garner favorable reviews."

"Saha has become one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. The service is doting without intrusiveness, and the food is deliciously unique and adventurous. If that wasn't enough, there are choices for the gluten free, vegan, and meat eating population, all prepared beautifully. The menu is large enough to make it easy to return repeatedly. After eating a meal at Saha, you will want to savor the spice memory for as long as possible. This includes non-spicy flavor as well as some warmer spices. Saha is a great place to bring visitors to San Francisco. It is small and intimate so large groups might be a little hard to accommodate.

"We had a very unfortunate experience. When our party of 6 first sat down for our 7pm reservation, the hostess informed us that we would have to be finished by 8:30 (due to another reservation). I have never had that happen. To make matters worse, at 8:15...when we had just asked for the check, she came back and reminded us we needed to leave! Combine this with the fact that food was not as good as I remember it from my first visit to Saha, suffice to say we will most certainly not be going back."

"A solid restaurant, especially as a hotel restaurant, but not as amazing as Yelp reviews suggested. Had to wait 5 minutes at hostess stand before a anyone on staff checked on me. Tables are really close together (had to move apart so I could squeeze into my seat) - not as intimate or romantic as I hoped. Heard a lot of our neighbor's conversation and had to lean forward to have a conversation across our own table for two. The decor feels affected or "put-on", not authentic. The food and waiter were awesome. This was a new cuisine for me and our waiter did a great job walking us through the menu, making suggestions, explaining ingredients, etc. The food was tasty and unique. I'd come back again for the food."

"Go to Saha with a small group and order small plates to share. This restaurant is a unique place to go. Many dishes are vegetarian or easily modified fo vegetarians or people with dietary restrictions also, just let your waitress know."

"This was our third time here and again we loved it! There were five of us so we were able to order and share several of the small plates. The food is arabic fusion and the flavors are amazing. We especially loved the Yemeni Fouel and the Shakshuka. It is a small, cozy place but with an fun, exotic vibe."

"Food quality was excellent; service was solicitous without being overbearing; liked the eclectic decorations. The wine list was extensive but two downsides: On a Wednesday night, they were out of over a quarter of the list of reds; the wines are painfully overpriced.
One other note: They offer a $45 prix fixe dinner. Some of our group ordered it and others orders a la carte. For the same dish, the portion size given to those who ordered the prix fixe option was visibly smaller than that given to those who ordered a la carte."

"This has been one of our very favorite restaurant for years. We've never once been disappointed in the Arab fusion food which is interesting, well executed and delicious. Waitress recommendations have always been great. Hidden away inside a hotel, the decor is charming."

"Yemenese-Arabic fusion food to delight the adventurous foodie. Greeted kindly and immediately seated. (Seat near the window had a little draft.) We were greeted by the waitress immediately with water, request for drinks, bread, and menus. After some time getting lost in the various menu items, we asked, and were narrowed down to handful of dishes taking consideration for our tastes (i.e. didn't tell us everything was good and therefore not helping us). She also made sugestions on sharing dishes which was a wonderful idea. Food came appropriately and was varied and wonderful. Certainly will go again to taste the other items we could not get to."

"I've been eating Arabic food and sweets all my life and I've never had any quite like this. You have to try out this restaurant... really clever, artistic take on middle eastern favorites... and many I've not had before... We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to go again soon..."

"The food is unique and off the chart good. Don't second guess yourself when you read "Salmon Baklava" and relate it to only dessert because with an open mind you can experience a mouth watering journey you never expected. The ravioli is awesome and so was the desert. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"As a student, I cannot afford to eat out very often, but for this place I make an exception and order everything to my heart's delight. The menu offers many great gluten-free, vegetarian and seafood options that would delight most palates. I love the Stuffed Avocado salad, Yemeni Fouel, Maklouba and everything else I've tried.

"This was a fine dining experience at very reasonable prices. Very exotic spices and combinations used in this Yemeni(Middle Eastern) food with French touches (the chef-owner was trained at Cordon Bleu). The appetizers in particular were delicious and unusual with salmon in phyllo dough and a variety of spices just one of many examples. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable, the setting had a great Middle East feel and the contemporary regional music made Saha an all in all great find. We had the opportunity to speak with the chef who was pleased to elaborate on the food while keeping a keen eye on matters."

"A bit disappointing in the value category. The food overall was fairly tasty and the service was good, but not worth the $55 or so we paid per head (with wine). Adding to this feeling is the decor which I found a tad shabby given the image the restaurant is trying to convey."

"We had a wonderful meal here and the service was friendly and professional. We arrived 20 minutes late due to traffic but the hostess had held our table even thought they were packed. We both had the 3 course prix fixe. I had the soup special, scallop appetizer and sage duck breast entree -- cooked perfectly to medium rare. My wife had quinoa and kale salad, the crab stuffed artichoke and the lamb Mansaf. We enjoyed everything, although the artichoke was a little tough. Wine recommendations were good. This was a great introduction to Yemeni food. It was quite loud, so don't go here to have an intimate dinner date --- but go for the food."
