"The food was very good and the service was excellent. The place has a great ambiance and while the restaurant was noisy, it hadgreat energy! I would recommend it to anyone. The price was also very reasonable for such a nice place. I only wish I had left room for dessert!"

"Everything was wonderful. The only complaint I have is that there was not a huge food selection. The drink menu was one of the best I have ever seen. most importantly, the place impressed my wife. That is all I really needed.:-)"

"The food was great but definitely not enough of a portion to justify the price. My husband, ordered the pork and said it was fantastic but was still hungry. That's typical though. I on the other hand tend to eat like a rabbit and am full after 4 bites, was starving after finishing the entire plate of the summer squash. Again, delicious, but not enough for $22. Glad to say we tried it, probably will not go back."

"My first experience at Holland House was amazing from hostess, bartenders, food, service etc. This was my second time. I was so excited to bring a friend in from out of town and was a little disappointed. Our server was admittedly new, but just not very attentive. The food was good except that my friend ordered the bison burger, cooked medium. It came out rare. We didn't say anything, but left her half eaten burger on the plate; server didn't ask anything about it. Nothing horrible about the night; just not the outstanding experience I'd previously had."

"Had a friend in from out of town who travels internationally for his job. He hates chain restaurants because he eats there regularly for his job, so when he is in town, he likes small non-chain restaurants. He grew up here and comes back to see his parents 2-3 times a year. During Christmas, we went to a couple of places in East Nashville and for this trip, he said he wanted to go to the Holland House. It's a great place with a fantastic vibe. There were three of us and we all ordered something different. Everyone loved the food. For me, that's probably the best meal I've had in years. The combination of food and sauces was fantastic. One oddity was that instead of s basket of bread, you get a basket of popcorn. My wife loved it. HG"

"We've been to the Holland House before, and this time we went for our anniversary. I'm currently pregnant, and wanted to go somewhere that could make me something to drink besides ginger ale and they did not disappoint. The bartender came up with a great and very refreshing "mocktail" with ginger and cucumber, and my husband loved his handcrafted cocktails. The food was delicious, and the bread pudding with cocoa nibs and NUTELLA was plate licking good. I'm proud that this is in our neighborhood. Also, the server was very helpful, going to lengths to accommodate my desire for cheese but my inability to eat anything unpasteurized at the moment. Thank you, you made our night special!"

"All the food was excellent and the tastes were unique and enjoyable. Starters were cheese table and short rib linguine and all the ingredients were identifiable and tasty with a good mix of cheeses. Our entrees were equally good. My wife enjoyed her cocktail and the tastes were excellent. I don't drink and this seemed to puzzle the waiter. He did not seem to enjoy his work but he was stretched and seemed to have to cover a lot of tables. We wanted service but it was slow. Ordered cake and coffee for dessert but cake was served without forks and coffee never came and we had to ask for it to be taken off the bill. Food was excellent but service and the extra details and caring atmosphere needed work, at least this night."

"We visited this resturant while on vacation, if we lived in the area this would be on our list of regular resturants. The food was unique and the prices were great. However, the signature cocktails were the true highlight of the night. The menu was not overwhelming with too many options, it offered a good selection of both both food and drink. The truffled popcorn was a great start to the night while flipping through the menu. The staff were friendly and knowledgable."

"Our first experience at Holland House (a date night with my wife) was wonderful. Every part of food and drink tasted outstanding from the first drink to dessert. They have the best and most unique specialty drink menu I've seen in Nashville. Our appetizer (cheese plate) salad, entrees and dessert were prepared to perfection with beautiful presentation. "It was Saturday night, but we were seated promptly when we arrived for our 6pm reservation. It was only 5:45 but that gave us a chance to take advantage of a great happy hour that ended at 6pm. Drinks were delicious and we had the truffle frites which were very good. Graham was our server with a great sense of humor, excellent timing and attention to our table. All around the experience was terrific and would recommend highly."

"Had a group of 3 couples for dinner before a concert. We were seated right away in a booth (a little cozy). Atmosphere was great. Looked like Mumford & Sons were mixing the drinks at the bar. Waiter laid back but attentive. Food was exciting and all just terrific. I had open faced rabbit ravioli (pretty amazing), we all shared each other's meals and none were lackings, all fantastic. I was indeed feeling adventurous, and would recommend to anyone going to do the same.

"Such wonderful wine and service - I would have thought that for that price the food would have been a lot better. The cheese plate was an ok hors d'ouevre, but my pork chop was overcooked and the balsamic on the brussel sprouts was overly reduced making it very bitter. My friend's acorn squash looked positively gorgeous was unfortunately rather underseasoned and bland. So disappointing. But hey - go for a glass of wine - totally worth it - just eat beforehand."

"Love the ambiance of the Holland House. I've been before for happy hour and loved it. This is the first time we have had actual dinner here. We started with the happy hour fried oysters. They were drenched in buffalo sauce, horrible. I ordered the Scallops and my husband had the Pork chop. The scallops had way too many flavors going on which over powered the delicate taste of the scallops. The Pork chop was slightly over done, just ok. The Brussel sprouts were tasty however. Wine list is minimal, wish there were more options. Would we go again? Probably only for Happy Hour."

"Upon arrival we were told there was a problem with the grill and that we would not be able to order off the grill. We had checked the menu online and our entree choices were the steak and pork chop so we told our waiter to give a minute, that we might not be staying. He did as we asked and then came back and told us the grill would be ready in about 30 minutes so we ordered drinks and starters. The cocktails were tiny! I was surprised given the price. Starters were tasty and we enjoyed them but then our waiter came back and told us the grill was not available. We had to ask a server what was available to order and we enjoyed our entrees. But I really did expect some kind of discount or gift card to compensate. Disappointed overall."

"I went for dinner and I had reservations. We were shown a table in the bar area, that also was a high table. It would have been extremely uncomfortable for dining, when asked for a different table was told this was all they had. Also was told they allowed only 1 hr. for dining. At these prices I find that unacceptable, the mgr. told me that was the way it was. They might have a good bar business but with this attitude I would never go back. Ended up going to Capital Grille and had a wonderful dinner."

"I visited Holland House with a small group of friends. The atmosphere is charming and lovely. We went early and they have a fantastic happy hour food menu with 10 or so items that are $5/each. We ordered several of those things and all were very good. Favorites were the empanada, truffle fries, hummus and burger. Drinks were interesting and tasty. My entree was the apple stuffed pork chop which was just okay. I think I expected more but found it somewhat ordinary. I didn't taste the promised bacon in the shaved brussel sprouts and thought perhaps salt was needed. I also thought one part of the pork was rather rare and didn't eat that bite. Overall, I'd return but stick with the happy hour menu which was a great deal."
