"Major points to the staff at Home Grown, on a busy Wine + Dine weekend. We asked for the kids food to come out quick, and it did, probably less than 10 minutes after we sat down. We asked for one each of all the tapas specials they were running, and all came to the table hot. (Great variety in the specials led to a nice little tasting, which was enough food for the two of us.) Service was friendly and prompt throughout ... and this was while half the restaurant was taken over by people holding glasses and participating in a city-wide wine crawl."

"We very much enjoyed our lunch/brunch experience @ Home Grown Cafe. The service was a little slow, but it was also very full and busy, so I wouldn't hang them out on that respect. I would like to try again & see if they have more wait people on to staff the large crowd. That said, the food was delicious, and innovative - the lighting and overall ambiance was delightful! I found the lighting, in particular, to be at just the right brightness - the fixtures were beautiful! Also, a special treat - despite the large numbers of people dining, the noise was very controlled, we could have our own conversation & actually hear each other! Kudos to the designer(s) who put carpeting on the floor & sound baffles in the ceiling - makes a HUGE difference"

"We have gone to a plant based diet which somewhat limits our selection when dining out. However, this restaurant was recommended to us by friends and we have been extremely happy with their many selections of entrees that fit our needs. Many of their items can be altered to fit a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle. Their menu is nicely laid out displaying with astericks the foods that can be vegan/vegetarian. The food taste is fresh and delectable. We like that all the dishes are made from scratch and they support locally grown farms. Their vegan omelettes are off the chart!"

"We're big fans of Home Grown's menu, which features extraordinarily flexible options for combining salads, sandwiches, entrees with vegetarian or non-vegetarian ingredients. Our server was terrific this time, our food was nicely presented and delicious. This is a neighborhood gem, indeed."
