We are very excited to be a part of the Little Italy and University Circle neighborhoods. Located in the heart of Cleveland"s cultural center, Washington Place offers gracious neighborhood hospitality in a beautifully remodeled historic brownstone mansion.
Washington Place offers modern American fare featuring local cheeses, produce and meats. An eclectic yet affordable wine list and signature cocktails can be enjoyed in the new lounge or on the extended outdoor patio in the comfort of the Little Italy neighborhood.
"Returned here for special anniversary celebration. Very romantic. The food is incredible. Focus is on quality, not quantity of food. Unlike so many places where the fish is laid on a mountain of mashed potatoes, the portion sizes at Washington Place are perfect to allow you to enjoy an appetizer and/or desert with your meal. The flavors are carefully balanced, and the presentation is appealing. They are doing it right here, and we'll be back."

"Great value on Wednesdays. $40 for a starter, 2 entrees, and a bottle of wine. Entrees are selections off the actual menu, not sized down. Very good!"

"Indoors or out, this is a nice place in Little Italy off the main road, but still an easy walk among the neighborhood, to University Circle, etc. Food is consistently very good with great, accommodating staff."

"Our party of 9 went to Washing Place after my son's high school graduation ceremony at Severance Hall. The restaurant is not handicap accessible which posed a problem for my 87 year old father in a wheelchair. They have handicap parking, why is there no access? Had I known ahead of time we would have gone elsewhere.
We were seated at a table clearly intended for 8 with a setting placed on one end for our 9th member. To complicate matters there was already a party of 8 at the next table in this small room with only the two tables. It was very crowded. Too crowded.
The food was excellent as was the service. If you are a party of two or four I'm sure you'll have a better experience."

"The last time I was at Washington Place, it was the Barricelli Inn! Washington Place did not disappoint. The food was fantastic, the service excellent, and we had a lovely dinner. We were visiting friends and I look forward to staying at the Inn during our next visit."

"Chef was very accommodating - my husband is a vegan and he made the risotto dish with out the butter. We love sitting out on the porch. It was so lovely with the sun setting. Have been many times - it's one of our favorites."

"WPB is located in a beautiful Cleveland landmark and very romantic. It was cool so we opted to sit inside. The food made up for a loud guy at one table who was a bit boisterous and annoying. The local source of the Food makes it very fresh and tasty. In fact when I asked which farm they got the beets for the salad from - the server told me it was the chefs garden. What a treat! We were both members of the clean plate club at this gem!"

"This was my first time at Washington Place, and I LOVED IT!!! The food was astounding. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was phenomenal. Although the food was spectacular, the service was even better. From the complimentary valet to the hostesses to the waiter, I was so impressed. I will definitely be back, and highly recommend this place for anyone in the Cleveland area."

"We ate with friends at Washington this past Saturday night -- they had never been there before while my husband and I frequent often. We all enjoyed our meals especially my girlfriend and I who ordered the Arctic Char special -- it was absolutely delicious!! "Stopped by for lunch, good thing we weren't in a hurry! There was only one waiter working, it took over an hour to recieve our meal. The sandwiches were good, nice italian twist to an american classic. My husband ordered leek and potato soup, enjoyed that it was light and refreshing. I ordered a salad without dressing, although it was drowning and soggy. I refused to send it back, for fear that it would take another hour to get my meal again. The menu was unique, I would try it again, but maybe at anohter time in the day when more servers were on staff."

"Washington Place was a lovely, little spot of soft modern decor and imaginative food in Little Italy. we were seated and greeted with a caramel monkey bread to start Sunday Brunch. I had pot roast hash and my friend had eggs benedict and they had a delicious twist. The server, Matt was super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, there when we needed him and gone when we didn't. We were too full for dessert, but I am going back for the doughnut bread pudding."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Washington Place. Our reservation was waiting and the seating was arranged nicely to provide an intimate atmosphere for discussion. The staff was attentive and friendly, we felt very welcome. The menu was not extensive but the the choices were varied and comfortably priced. The food was fresh and served warm so even at the end of the meal the last bites were as good aas the first. We had three entree's, the duck, the grits and shrimp, and the vegetable risotto. All were delicious.
Wahington has small plates and it is recommended as the food was rich and filling.
A fabulous meal, and a short distance from Little Italy where we were able to walk and enjoy a coffee after dinner."

"This was our first visit to Washington Place Bistro and it was quite excellent. The food was wonderful and imaginative. I had the soup of the day which was a carrot and ginger soup - yum! My wife had the beet salad. We also shared the oxtail pierogis which were quite tasty. For our main courses, my wife had the braised pot roast and I had the steak culotte which was a hickory smoked sirloin steak with a "big red wine reduction". It was excellent. We shared three cheeses for dessert. The only negative was that there was a very boisterous dinner party in the room next to ours, but worse yet were the couple with two young kids. The young girl made a LOT of noise which was disruptive to our meal."

"First experience at this restaurant since the Baricelli Inn closed. A good place to try if you're in the area. Interesting menu and attentive staff. Venue is great, but the food except for our two fish dishes, salmon and fluke, was just average. From our one experience there is an issue with whoever prepared soups and sauces. The mushroom bisque, fish sauces and the bslsamic reduction had NO taste - none!"

"As always, the food, drink, and service at Washington Place is incredible. Don't missed the braised pot roast or roasted chicken with dumplings, among other fine dishes. Save room for dessert, as the donut bread pudding is one of the best in the city."

"When I was a kid growing up in Oberlin, I looked forward to the times my parents would take us all to the Inn for "dinner" after church. Loved the perch. Years later, when looking for a place in Little Italy to take friends after church, Washington Place stood out, not only because we've loved eating there in the past, but it's virtually the ONLY place in the area open for lunch on Sunday!
While I don't understand why others aren't open, I can certainly recommend WP for its food, setting and service. Lunch items aren't always review foci. But suffice it to say that the tomato-vegie soup was delicious and the sandwiches and salads satisfied stupendously.
Weekdays or weekends, make this place a dining destination. I highly recommend i"

"We visited Washington Place for the first time and loved it. We were seated in a corner table overlooking the courtyard. They have a nice beer and wine selection, and menu items feature locally sourced ingredients. The oxtail pierogis and mussels we had as starters were delicious. We mostly ordered the specials as our entees. The lamb I had was very nicely prepared and the Brussel sprout mashed potatoes were excellent. The Oslo bucco and scallops were great as well. For dessert, I highly recommend the bread pudding made with glazed doughnuts from Presti's and Mitchell's ice cream. Overall, we loved Washington Place and look forward to dining there again."

"We took advantage of the 2 for $40 special (although we added a cocktail as well! The special has a limited selection, but we both enjoyed our choices. You also get a bottle of wine with the meal, the selection in the special is just "ok", but that would be expected for the price. Overall, we enjoyed our evening. The place is very nice and looks like it would be great for outside seating when the weather permits. The food preparation was interesting. We would definitely go back."

"We have enjoyed lunch here a few times. This was a great choice for anniversary celebration dinner. Appreciated the warm greeting when we walked in the door. Very good martini and Manhattan. Arugula and pear salad nicely seasoned. We were each happy with our entrees, savory veal short ribs and cod over polenta special. Our server was knowledeable and attentive, without being annoying. This was a favorite for many years as Baricelli Inn. A fine tradition continues as Washington Place and we will continue to visit this gem in Little Italy."

"The service and ambiance was fantastic. The food was well prepared, but lacking flavor and originality. I had the duck confit which was just okay, but nothing to get excited about or return for. My daughter chose the scallops which were expertly prepared, but again, the overall flavor of the dish was bland. The beet salad was outstanding and the highlight of my dinner. I finished with a bread pudding which was dry... We left disappointed after looking forward to the dinner and out first experience here..."

"Great place for food and service with complementary valet. Server was great !!
Only strange thing was we had an early dinner; first people there. The next group to come was seated right next to us and the group after that on the other side of us. Each had a different waiter. Spread us out a little, you have 4 rooms of dining available. It was so quite, all privacy in conversations were lost and the servers were running into each other."
