"Great food, great service, and pleasant atmosphere! Definitely will return. Steak was mouth watering and cooked to perfection. Onion rings were the best I've eaten;was able to eat them bite by bite without the entire onion pulling out. The water glasses were filled throughout dinner. The coffee was fresh and they kept it coming as my cup emptied."

"The buffet was wonderful and tasty - a nice selection of prime rib, salmon with crabmeat, pork roast, and vegetables, potatoes, and salads. The deserts were excellent.
The service, always outstanding, was exceptional."

"This was our second time at the Red Horse. We had just gotten married on the 19th and friends at work gave us money and said we were to use it to go to dinner. We were so impressed with everything on Valentine's Day that the first place we thought of was the Red Horse. For a second time we were not disappointed. We will be back and we tell everyone what a nice time we had."

"I cheer for institutions of this type staying afloat over soulless corporate competition, but the food was uneven and unexceptional. Excellent cocktails, bread service with butter and roasted garlic was a good start, but escargot were oddly flavorless, although the dish looked promisingly well prepared (I still long for the escargot at the now-defunct Mealey's of New Market). Crab imperial stuffed mushrooms were dry and tired. The spinach salad, a special of the evening, was tasty and attractively composed, although the spinach leaves should have been stemmed. Steaks were of quite good quality for the price and perfectly cooked, but suffered from an almost fatal lack of seasoning. Making bearnaise and other sauces available might help."

"Really a nice restaurant. I eat out 2 meals a day and when I say this is a special place with a good eye for detail regarding service and preparation...I know what I'm talking about! Nice job and I'll def be back. Heads and shoulders above franchise steak and potato joints...no comparison really. Had a polite and service-oriented staff working there too."

"The overall rating would have been higher if not for the long wait to get our 2 steak dinner for my husbands birthday. The waiter apologized several times and offered drinks or dessert on him. That much was appreciated and we knew it was not his fault as he does not cook our meal. It would have been nice for a floor manager to greet us during this issue."

"The prime rib was cold. To be fair we didn't ask for them to warm it. The taste wasn't impressive. Wanted to see if they had improved from the last time. The bread was good and warm and the lobster tail was good. The asparagus was good. The "gold" Marguarite was green and tasted watered down. The mushroom caps with "Crab Imperial" tasted like mush. It was very expensive. Should have gone to Dutch's Daughter. Not much more expensive but good! Service was perfect!"

"After 12 years in the area we decided to go to the Red Horse for Valentine's Day. The entire restaurant staff was very accommodating and pleasant. But, we were disappointed with the food. The salad, though fresh, was very small and crowded on a small glass plate. The Red Horse is noted for its beef. My prime rib (I asked for medium rare)was too well done. My husband said his steak was okay. The asparagus was very fresh and the dinner bread quite good. Even though I might recommend the restaurant it is doubtful that we would return."

"My fiance and I were celebrating our first Valentine's Day together. He used to go to the restaurant as a young boy with his family and has very fond memories so he wanted to share them with me. He was very impressed with everything and so was I. He reserved a table by the fireplace and it was beautiful. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. We had steak and lobster. I had never eaten lobster before. It was delicious! The steak was perfect. It truly was a night to remember! We were not disappointed."
